Chapter 87: Physical Examination

In the blink of an eye, it was Friday.

Stepping into November, the local temperature, which always hovered around 10 degrees, finally dropped.

The air conditioner in the dorm was no longer used as often.

The weather was nice today.

Bright, warm sunlight spilled onto the balcony, casting a golden glow over Chen Zhilong as he smoked.

However, his expression wasn’t very good.

“I’m the only one going to class today?”

Chen Zhilong tossed his cigarette butt away with a look of annoyance and crushed it with the tip of his shoe.

“Yes, I need a follow-up, and Bai Yao is coming with me to the hospital.”

“Me, call roll for four people by myself?”

‘I’m the one getting a physical, I’m the one who should be panicked, okay? What if they find some incurable disease…’

Returning to the dorm, Bai Yao started putting on his socks and shoes.

He stood in front of the mirror to check if his nipple covers were properly hidden, then adjusted his bangs.

He tied up his long hair, which was now long enough to cover his neck.

Long hair — for a man, at least.

Once his hair was tied, he looked much sharper.

Coupled with his usual chilly expression, he looked like a cold, aloof artist!

“What is it? Are we leaving?”

Bai Yao turned to look at Qiu Ye, who was pacing around him.

“I’m just looking in the mirror too.”

Qiu Ye fiddled with his hair, styling it into sharp, forward-facing spikes.

Lin Mingxin had just gotten out of bed.

Seeing Qiu Ye taking his hair gel without asking, he asked unhappily, “You’re taking my gel again?”

“My bad, my bad. I thought you were still sleeping.”

“Who skips class every day like you?” Lin Mingxin turned to shout at Chen Zhilong on the balcony, “Long Si, wait for me. I’ll be ready in a second.”

“The sun must have risen from the west,” Bai Yao muttered, glancing again at Qiu Ye, who was still working on his hair.

‘What is this guy doing? Is he preening like a male peacock? Surely he’s not preening for me? Has he been brainwashed by the system? Why does it always feel like Qiu Ye likes him?’

One of Life’s Three Major Delusions was “he likes me.”

Bai Yao was self-aware and would definitely not make that mistake.

“How is it? Not bad, right?”

“Yeah,” Bai Yao complimented offhandedly.

“You’re handsome even without styling your hair.”

“You bet!”

Qiu Ye beamed with joy.

“The two of us are heading to class first.”

In 5 minutes, Lin Mingxin finished washing up, using the restroom, changing clothes, and swapping shoes.

He even tidied his appearance, grabbed his textbook, and headed out with Chen Zhilong.

When he wasn’t on a date, he wasn’t that keen on dressing up.

Bai Yao checked the time; it was about time to take the bus to the hospital with Qiu Ye.

“Should we go too?”

He had been dirt poor these past few days and was waiting for that 500 yuan reward to recover and have a good meal.

“Sure, let me put on my shoes.”

A few minutes later, Bai Yao followed behind Qiu Ye like a little sidekick as they left.

He was used to following behind others.

Moreover, Qiu Ye was tall with long legs and a wide stride.

Even if Bai Yao intended to walk side-by-side with him, he would unconsciously fall behind after a few steps.

“Skipping class every day…”

For the sake of the physical, he hadn’t eaten anything since 6:00 PM last night.

Qiu Ye returned with breakfast in no time.

A bowl of Sa Tang, a large fried dough stick, and two meat buns.

“Have you ever tried Sa Tang? A new breakfast shop just opened,” Qiu Ye said as he sat opposite him.

“A new shop, I haven’t tried it yet.”

Bai Yao rolled his eyes, resting his chin on one hand while looking down at his phone.

He wound a lock of hair from his temple around his index finger.

Since Qiu Ye already knew about the cross-dressing, there was no need to hide most secrets from him.

When he was with Qiu Ye, he didn’t need to keep his nerves taut or put on a manly front.

He could relax much more, naturally displaying a girlish demeanor.

“Want a taste?”

“I’m not hungry.”

Qiu Ye took a bite of a meat bun and held the cross-section up to Bai Yao in surprise.

“This meat bun is good too! The filling is really substantial. Look, look!”

Bai Yao couldn’t help but look up.

The meat filling was still dripping with juice.

It looked delicious at a glance.

He swallowed his saliva and suddenly stood up, leaning forward with his mouth open like a hungry wolf.

But Qiu Ye was quick and pulled the meat bun back.

“You’re having a physical, you can’t eat. Such a shame.”

Qiu Ye sighed.

“Besides, I already took a bite. You’d definitely find it gross.”

Bai Yao sat back down and looked up the physical exam items at the hospital on his phone.

It was nothing more than blood draws, urine tests, and queuing up at various departments.

Fortunately, there shouldn’t be any items that required taking off his clothes?

He looked up at Qiu Ye and asked, “What if they find some serious illness?”

“How serious?” Qiu Ye teased.

“I think the most likely scenario is that you’re actually a girl. Are they checking your chromosomes?”

Although he was teased, it helped improve Bai Yao’s mood.

He rested his chin in his hands, staring blankly at Qiu Ye eating breakfast.

His body had been turned into that of a girl’s by the system; he didn’t know if it would be detected during the exam.

“I’m done. Let’s go.”

Bai Yao stood up and jogged to catch up with Qiu Ye.

“The bus?”

His legs were pressed together unnaturally, and even his walking posture became a bit awkward.

He teased, “Are you in heat?”
