Hearing Yeyue’s words, Ian muttered to himself.
‘No, big sister, it is one thing that you cannot get out, but how can you force yourself to stay?’
However, Ian could only complain like this in his heart; he dared not say it to Yeyue’s face.
What if she really kept him here?
“Yeyue, don’t worry. Just let me out first, and when I eventually become a god, I will rescue you from this place.”
“Since you cannot get out anyway, why not let me go first?”
Ian directly dangled a carrot in front of Yeyue.
Who knew if Ian would ever be able to become a god?
Even if he could, no one knew how long that would take.
Even if Yeyue could afford to wait, who knew if Ian would actually come back for her?
Therefore, no matter what, Yeyue would not just let Ian go like that.
“In your dreams. You really think someone like you can become a god?”
Yeyue retorted without hesitation.
She had already been a Fifth-tier Mage at Ian’s age, while Ian was still stuck as a Second-tier Mage.
With talent like that, how could he become a god?
“Then what will it take for you to let me go?”
Ian went straight to the point, questioning Yeyue.
“You can’t just keep me here because you cannot leave yourself, right?”
Upon hearing Ian’s accusation, Yeyue was unconcerned, instead calculating some things in her mind.
Although she could keep Ian here—after all, she was a deity and Ian was merely a Second-tier Mage, meaning he could never be her match—keeping him here offered her no real benefits.
At most, he could chat with her to help pass the time, but she would still be unable to leave.
Thinking of this, Yeyue seemed to have made up her mind and said to Ian.
“Let me be your Guardian Deity.”
Ian was completely stunned upon hearing Yeyue’s words.
“Guardian Deity? What on earth is that?”
Ian had never heard of this concept on the Continent of Phalloran.
“It is normal that you haven’t heard of it. Unless pushed to the brink with no other options, no deity is willing to become someone’s Guardian Deity.”
“Once you become my Guardian Deity, will you be able to leave here with me?”
Ian asked Yeyue.
Right now, he did not care what a Guardian Deity was; he just wanted to escape this dark room.
“Yes. Once I become your Guardian Deity, I can reside within your body and then pass through the space turbulence alongside you.”
Yeyue guessed that this space turbulence must lead to some Small World.
The reason she was rejected by the space turbulence was simply that she, as a deity, was repelled by the Small World Will.
Ian, on the other hand, was able to pass through the space turbulence because he was originally from that Small World.
As long as she acted as Ian’s Guardian Deity, she could naturally descend into the Small World and escape this dark space.
Hearing Yeyue’s words, Ian grew excited.
It seemed Yeyue did not want to trap him here, but rather wanted to escape with him.
“Then hurry up and become my Guardian Deity. I am worried that if we take too long, the space turbulence might close.”
Rolling her eyes at Ian, Yeyue began to speak.
“Do you think becoming your Guardian Deity is a good thing for you?”
“Although you will be able to borrow my power once I become your Guardian Deity.”
“If you borrow too much and your body cannot handle it, you will die.”
“Even if you do not use my power, my Divine Power will circulate within your body. If you cannot withstand the Divine Power, your body will be injured, or even die.”
“Even so, are you still willing to let me be your Guardian Deity?”
Hearing Yeyue’s words, Ian gave a wry smile.
“Is it like I have a choice to say no?”
Ian knew that while Yeyue appeared to be asking for his opinion, she had already decided on the answer.
If he replied that he was unwilling, she certainly would not let him leave.
So, even if he didn’t want to, he had to say yes right now.
Though, to be fair, he was quite willing to have Yeyue as his Guardian Deity.
Hearing Ian’s response, Yeyue sighed.
Just as Ian expected, even if he had disagreed, she would have forced herself to become his Guardian Deity.
It was just that once she became one, she would be bound to the Small World and could not return to the Divine Realm.
Furthermore, she would have to protect Ian whenever he was in danger and reside within his body during the day-to-day.
But compared to being trapped in this Dark Room all day, she preferred to be Ian’s Guardian Deity; at least she would be able to see something new.
It was better than just staring blankly in the darkness.
Also, she had figured out that Ian was not a bad person.
The first thing he did upon seeing her was to look for her parents.
Although she hated being treated like a child, this fact showed her that Ian had good intentions and would not misuse her power.
This was why Yeyue proposed becoming Ian’s Guardian Deity.
If Ian had been a malicious person, Yeyue would never have made this offer, even if it meant being trapped in this dark space forever.
“Very well, since you agree, sit down first.”
Ian followed Yeyue’s instructions and sat down.
“Alright, now I am going to seal all of my power into your Mental Realm.”
“Open your Mental Realm and do not hold the slightest bit of guardedness against me.”
“Okay.”
To escape successfully, Ian went all out, opening his Mental Realm to Yeyue without reservation.
The Mental Realm was a person’s most vulnerable place, so one would normally never open it completely to others.
Because doing so was equivalent to handing one’s life over to someone else.
Yet, Ian could not worry about that anymore.
With Yeyue’s strength, killing him would be as easy as flicking a finger; there was no need for her to enter his Mental Realm to do it.
Not long after, Yeyue’s voice emerged from within Ian’s body.
“It is done. I have successfully sealed my power into your Mental Realm.”
“That was fast, it is already done?”
Ian could hardly believe it; he had assumed the process would take a long time.
“How much longer did you want it to take?”
Yeyue replied with a touch of irritation.
“But why do I not feel anything at all?”
According to what Yeyue said earlier, even if he didn’t use her power, just having her reside in his body should cause his body to suffer, right?
“That is because I am suppressing my power with all my might. Otherwise, did you really think you wouldn’t be injured?”
“Fine, stop overthinking it. Hurry up and pass through the space turbulence to get out of this hellhole.”
Yeyue urged Ian to leave quickly.
Following Yeyue’s urging, Ian stepped into the space turbulence, and within moments, his entire body entered, completely escaping the dark space.
