“Uh… I’ll keep doing my best.”
Blazing Flame paused for a moment, unsure why Meteor was so happy about her appearance.
But she still nodded politely, choosing the most courteous way to respond to Meteor’s congratulations.
“Well done, very spirited! I believe you’ll become more and more reliable!” Meteor nodded, then looked at Sapphire, who was silently contemplating nearby. “Sapphire, why don’t you say a few words? After all, she’s the third Magical Girl in A City!”
“No need. I’ve already met Blazing Flame before.”
Sapphire said this, then shifted her gaze to the missing people in the hall, pondering how she would explain to Blazing Flame and Meteor what she had seen.
“What?! If you’ve met Blazing Flame, then why didn’t you tell me? You know I’ve been searching for her all along!” Meteor complained.
“Blazing Flame has her own privacy. I’m under no obligation to share her matters with you,” Sapphire replied casually as she started walking toward the crowd in the hall.
“Hmm… that’s what you say, but I’ve been searching so long—can’t you help me out a bit?”
“No need. Since Blazing Flame is active in A City, you’ll meet her sooner or later.”
With that, Sapphire approached the twelve people and began communicating with them.
Blazing Flame watched her curiously, noticing how logically clear Sapphire’s words were.
In just a few sentences, she had calmed everyone down, allowing them to patiently wait for further developments.
A Magical Girl with the ability to handle situations like this?
How professional… Miss Sapphire…
Blazing Flame admired silently.
Meanwhile, after calming the crowd, Sapphire returned to Blazing Flame and Meteor.
“All matters here have been dealt with. Next, we should go back to the rooms upstairs.”
“Back to where just now?” Blazing Flame asked.
“Yeah, some things aren’t appropriate to say here.” Sapphire glanced at the crowd behind her. “I’m worried it might cause a bad influence.”
“Is that so? Then let’s go!” Meteor readily agreed and followed Sapphire up to the rooms above.
Sapphire nodded at them and soon led the two out of the hall.
Before long, the three arrived at the room where the “Clown” had been.
Sapphire looked at the “Clown” lying on the floor, bleeding heavily, and said to Meteor.
“Meteor, heal him. He’s the mastermind behind this disappearance case. He can’t die at our hands before being judged.”
“No problem! Leave it to me!”
Meteor snapped her fingers, and her eyes turned back into golden stars like before as she focused on the fallen Clown.
Within seconds, golden starlight flowed into the Clown’s body, reversing the blood loss.
In the blink of an eye, Blazing Flame saw the Clown’s breathing stabilize, and his body seemed to regain vitality.
“All done! He’s temporarily immortal! But it’ll take some time for him to regain consciousness.” Meteor’s eyes returned to normal after finishing.
“Thanks, Meteor.”
Sapphire checked the Clown’s pulse with her fingers to confirm he wouldn’t die, then turned to Meteor and Blazing Flame.
“Since most urgent matters are settled, there are other things I need to explain before the official personnel arrive.”
“This disappearance case is not as simple as we thought. There are other suspicious individuals assisting this guy.”
“And according to my analysis, the entity helping him without a doubt is the Night Demon.”
Hearing that familiar name, Blazing Flame exclaimed, confirming with Sapphire.
“Night Demon? Did you just say Night Demon?!”
“That’s right, the Night Demon. Is there a problem?”
Sapphire noticed Blazing Flame’s excited reaction and rubbed her chin, asking back.
“…I thought Night Demons only created Shadow Beasts? How could they suddenly have contact with humans?”
Blazing Flame frowned, fell silent for a moment, then asked Sapphire.
“Since you know about the Night Demon, that means your Magic Fairy must have told you about it too.”
Hearing Blazing Flame’s words, Sapphire’s lips curved into a slight smile, as if approving.
“That’s right. At first, I also found it strange since nothing like this had happened before. But after some thought, I figured it’s not impossible.”
“If the Night Demon can create Shadow Beasts, then of course it can influence humans and make them serve its purposes. I believe it can do something so simple.”
Listening to Sapphire’s explanation, Blazing Flame fell into silence, lowering her head to think about other matters.
Based on what Pandora had told her before, the Night Demon definitely has the ability to influence humans.
If the Night Demon can affect humans, then where are the other people influenced by it?
If they saw the first bug in the room, then without a doubt, there must be more bugs elsewhere in the room.
Since the Night Demon can influence the first human, it must also be able to affect others.
But the question is, why have they only discovered the first human influenced by the Night Demon just now?
What about the others?
Could it be…
Blazing Flame considered all possible scenarios and suddenly felt a chill run down her spine.
No matter which possibility becomes reality, she found it hard to accept.
“Huh? What are you two talking about? I don’t understand a single word!”
Meanwhile, Meteor looked at Sapphire and Blazing Flame with a confused expression, completely clueless about their conversation.
Night Demon? Creating Shadow Beasts? How could she understand any of it?
Could it be these two had privately exchanged information about the origin of these monsters before?
She didn’t want to be the only one left out!
“You don’t even know what the Night Demon is, Meteor?”
Sapphire looked at the stunned Meteor with a puzzled expression.
“No, I don’t! Nobody ever explained this stuff to me! How would I know about such strange things?”
Meteor said self-deprecatingly, as if venting her frustration.
Seeing Meteor’s reaction, Sapphire narrowed her eyes slightly and said to Blazing Flame.
“Blazing Flame, I’ll explain the Night Demon to Meteor first. Can you check the Notebook yourself?”
“Notebook?” Blazing Flame looked up, confused.
“Yes. It contains a lot of important information. You’ll understand once you read it.” Sapphire said without elaborating.
“…Alright, no problem.” Blazing Flame nodded in agreement.
