“It’s your turn again.”
Su Nian said cheerfully.
Yun Buran’s competitive spirit flared up, and she grinned mischievously.
“Next, we’re going on the carousel. You have to sing ‘Dalabengba’ on it, and I’m recording a video.”
Su Nian’s face froze, but he wasn’t about to back down. What he didn’t expect was that Yun Buran specifically took him to the children’s section of the carousel.
“Once upon a time, a dragon suddenly appeared…”
Standing among a group of children, they looked incredibly out of place. Sitting on those mismatched little horses, with the childish background music, they seemed utterly ridiculous.
But behind Su Nian, Yun Buran was already holding up her phone, laughing hysterically.
Back on the pirate ship, Yun Buran had already noticed something: Su Nian really couldn’t sing.
He was completely off-key, which made it sound hilariously strange.
“Your Majesty, my name is Dalabengba Bandebeidiboduobiluweng…”
Su Nian sang with a look of utter despair. Many of the children around him were laughing, and even the waiting parents were recording videos.
Because he was so good-looking, even though his singing was terrible, everyone found him adorable.
Yun Buran was also incredibly excited. This was the first time she had ever seen something Su Nian wasn’t good at.
“My turn now, right?”
Even someone with Su Nian’s composure felt that what had just happened was far too embarrassing.
“That’s right, that’s right.”
Yun Buran was still laughing cheerfully.
“Then I command you to go find that pair of girls and ask them to film a commemorative video for you.”
Su Nian pointed at two girls.
“Ah, you can do that?”
“This counts as part of the fun too.”
Su Nian smiled darkly, then searched online and showed Yun Buran the transformation pose from Kamen Rider Black RX.
“That’s what the video needs to include. You have to shout out the Japanese Henshin loudly.”
Yun Buran thought Su Nian would make her sing again. She wasn’t afraid anymore, because at least she sang much better than Su Nian. But this… this was way too embarrassing.
Yun Buran shot Su Nian a furious glare and threw down a threat.
“Just you wait!”
Then she braced herself and asked one of the passing girls.
“Miss, could you please film a commemorative video for me?”
The two strangers were very friendly and agreed. They thought Yun Buran looked adorable, like a shy little princess.
But soon, they froze.
Yun Buran’s movements weren’t very standard, but she shouted out the word Henshin with a vengeance!
The two girls couldn’t hold it in and started laughing. They thought Yun Buran was so amusing. Yun Buran quickly thanked them shyly and ran away.
When she came back, Su Nian was holding up his phone, grinning, having recorded a third-person video of it.
Yun Buran couldn’t help herself. She raised her little leather shoe and lightly kicked Su Nian’s shin.
“You jerk!”
“I command you to go ask that guy for his contact info!”
Yun Buran pointed at a muscular man in a tank top.
“What’s so hard about that?”
Su Nian waved his hand dismissively.
“And tell him you’re a bottom!”
Su Nian felt a pang in his teeth. Given his pride, this was no different from running around naked.
But Su Nian never admitted defeat.
“Hey handsome, can I get your contact info?”
“Oh, and I’m a bottom.”
Su Nian gritted his teeth and said it.
The muscular man first stared at Su Nian in shock, his face showing hesitation. But after carefully looking Su Nian over, he hesitated and held out his QR code for friends.
Seeing Su Nian’s expression, like he’d eaten something terrible, Yun Buran laughed so hard her stomach hurt.
On a nearby bench, the big black cat rolled over and looked at them with disdain.
‘A pair of lunatics.’
…
After a morning of crazy fun, both of them were a bit tired. Yun Buran hadn’t expected things to turn out this way.
She thought Su Nian would take her through the planned activities, staying cold and aloof, reluctantly accompanying her through her madness.
But to her surprise, Su Nian was even crazier than she was. And she saw more sides of him: he had things he wasn’t good at, he could get shy and annoyed, and he even screamed in fear on the drop tower.
In Yun Buran’s heart, Su Nian had always been perfect. She thought he would be the type to ride a roller coaster without making a sound.
But these imperfections, these cute little flaws, made her feel closer to Su Nian. She had never experienced anything like this.
Actually, Yun Buran had always been an introvert. Aside from polite greetings, she truly wasn’t good at talking.
But recently, she discovered she actually loved to laugh. And today, she realized that she wasn’t just able to show her true smile only to Su Nian.
Their craziness didn’t escalate further. Yun Buran was smart; she had already figured out Su Nian’s intention.
“Next, I command you to go take a photo with that NPC. I’ll take the picture for you.”
It was a male NPC in makeup. She didn’t know what character he was supposed to be, but he was clearly one of the good-looking guys earning a living by his face here, very popular.
But Yun Buran didn’t care. The boy beside her had already been mistaken for an unknown celebrity by many passersby, who came up asking for photos.
Su Nian would always look gently at Yun Buran and then politely decline those girls, saying, “I need to get my girlfriend’s permission first.”
She loved hearing that. It gave her immense satisfaction.
She would lower her eyes and secretly touch Su Nian’s hand. Su Nian wouldn’t pull away.
So she knew those were really just polite refusals. There wasn’t a hint of joy in the boy’s heart.
Recently, Yun Buran had been drowning herself in this surface-level sweetness. But every deep night, the innermost part of her heart ached unbearably.
Because she couldn’t help imagining the future when Su Nian would find a girl he truly loved, a girl who could enjoy this kind of life forever.
Whenever she thought about that, she felt so jealous she could kill. The jealousy made her heart twist and tear with pain.
But it was daytime now. They had to live like normal people.
“Okay.”
Yun Buran smiled lightly and went up to the NPC for the photo.
The male NPC was surprised by both of their looks, but quickly got into work mode.
“Ready?”
Su Nian held up his phone, smiling warmly.
The NPC tactfully didn’t make any intimate gestures like he did with previous girls. He didn’t have any physical contact with Yun Buran.
But from long habit, he still stood very close to her and raised his hand to make a peace sign above her head.
Yun Buran felt his presence, twisted her face in extreme discomfort, and panic began to rise in her heart. Memories from the past flooded back, making her breath quicken.
A few seconds felt like an eternity. The moment Su Nian finished, she ran straight to him.
“Sorry about that.”
Su Nian smiled apologetically at the NPC and scanned the QR code on his chest to give him a tip.
“Let’s stop here. Let’s get something to eat and rest. We’ll just play normally this afternoon.”
Su Nian comforted her gently. He knew today had been enough.
“No.”
Yun Buran said stubbornly.
“Then I demand that you go buy a potted plant ice cream. We’ll share one. You have to eat one spoonful and then feed me one.”
Yun Buran sounded tough on the surface, but she secretly glanced at Su Nian.
She was a bad kid. She was testing the waters. She wanted more and more.
“Okay.”
Just one word, but it was like an afternoon breeze, washing away Yun Buran’s earlier discomfort.
Su Nian quickly bought it, and surprisingly, he only got one spoon. This made Yun Buran ecstatic. She knew Su Nian had a bit of a cleanliness obsession.
But she didn’t show it. She played dumb and opened her mouth, waiting for the cold treat to enter.
The ice cream melted in her mouth instantly, but it still wasn’t sweet enough. Yun Buran stared intently at Su Nian.
Su Nian knew what that burning gaze contained. It was something complicated, dark, yet fervent. Maybe it was love.
So he quickly scooped up a spoonful for himself.
“It’s just okay. And way too expensive.”
Su Nian said casually.
“Is that so? I think it’s super sweet.”
The girl narrowed her eyes. Whether it was from the cold or the sweetness, no one could tell.
