Chapter 22: Tenderness

“No!”

Su Ling only paused for a moment before continuing toward the bed.

“I want to let you out.”

Su Ling’s movement to climb onto the bed froze, and he slowly turned his head.

“You…”

“I have never lied to you.”

Su Ling bit his lip hard. Indeed, this person had never lied to him, wait…

“You lied to me?!”

Su Ling looked up, his eyes teary and slightly red, as if he had suffered a great grievance.

“When?”

Ye Moran was puzzled. She was certain she hadn’t lied to him.

“The, the first time, you said that in the future, you would get my consent for that kind of thing, but you never did!”

“And every time, you go too far!”

Su Ling gritted his teeth. If he hadn’t recalled it carefully, he might have forgotten about this.

“Heh~”

Ye Moran was amused by the Little Fellow’s appearance.

“Fine, then consider that one time I lied to you.”

“What do you mean ‘consider’? You clearly lied to me.”

Su Ling’s small hands tightly gripped the quilt, his eyes looking at her with indignation!

“Alright, I’m sorry. I apologize to you, okay?”

“I don’t accept it!”

Su Ling saw that Ye Moran was still smiling even while apologizing. He turned his head away in anger. This person was really annoying; she didn’t have any sincerity in her apology at all!

“Don’t be angry anymore. I’ll take you out. From now on, you can go wherever you want. I won’t lock you up anymore.”

Ye Moran gently took the Little Fellow’s wrist, stroked his head, smoothed the hair at his temples, and spoke with Tenderness.

Su Ling looked up at Ye Moran with teary eyes. He hadn’t experienced this kind of Tenderness from her for a while!

Every time she showed this kind of Tenderness, he couldn’t refuse. His mind would always recall how good his Elder Sister was to him when he was young.

He didn’t resist at all as she led him out of this house that he never wanted to return to again!

“I want to go back to my room to sleep!”

“No!”

Ye Moran’s tone was resolute, leaving no room for negotiation!

“Then, then you’re not allowed to touch me!”

“Fine.”

Su Ling didn’t believe her at all. The moment he climbed onto the bed, he shrank into the corner, his big watery eyes watching her warily!

Ye Moran was a bit speechless. She climbed onto the bed and lay directly on her side on the other side, her back to the Little Fellow, acting as if she were being very well-behaved.

Seeing this, Su Ling breathed a sigh of relief and closed his eyes in peace!

Ye Moran suddenly opened her eyes, glanced at the Little Fellow beside her, and got up to leave!

She returned to the Study and looked at The Iron Door, which was still open. She walked over to close it, then took out that Medicine Box from a hidden corner of the bookshelf!

Su Ling opened his eyes groggily, met with a large expanse of white. He looked up in shock and realized he had somehow ended up in her arms!

“Awake?”

“You, you lied to me. You said you wouldn’t touch me.”

Su Ling’s mouth twitched, looking like he was about to cry. Ye Moran rubbed his hair and spoke with a light laugh.

“But it was you who took the initiative to crawl into my arms last night.”

“Impossible!”

Su Ling’s two pink and tender cheeks puffed up angrily. This person still wanted to lie to him; was he really that easy to fool?

How could he possibly crawl into her arms on his own?

Su Ling looked at the Phone Surveillance on the phone, seeing the footage of him crawling into her arms of his own accord. His face flushed red instantly.

“I, I, I…”

“Alright, don’t worry about that. Go wash up, and I’ll go make breakfast for you!”

When Ye Moran got up to leave, her face was full of smiles. This shy look of the Little Fellow was truly beautiful!

Su Ling’s face turned red as he pulled the quilt over himself, covering his head.

How could he have crawled into her arms?

Really!

Su Ling frantically scratched his hair, rubbing it hard, turning his beautiful hair into a messy tangle!

Suddenly, he felt a bit of pain on his wrist?

Lifting the quilt, he found a small red dot on his wrist.

He scratched his head. It seemed he had one before too. Were there bugs in the room?

“Time to eat.”

Ye Moran brought up breakfast. Seeing the Little Fellow staring at the red dot on his wrist, her heart suddenly tightened.

She walked over quickly and placed the food in front of the Little Fellow.

“What’s wrong?”

“No, it’s nothing. Just a bug bite. See?”

“I think you should have someone clean the room. I’ve been bitten twice now.”

Su Ling pointed to the red dot on his wrist and spoke seriously!

“Fine, I’ll have someone come clean in a few days!”

“But for now, eat your breakfast first!”

Su Ling didn’t pay much attention and started eating. The breakfast was simple: a sandwich and a cup of hot milk. Su Ling finished quickly!

After breakfast, Su Ling didn’t know what to do.

He turned his head to look at the person next to him.

Ye Moran was leaning on the bed with a laptop on her lap, looking serious as she handled something.

Su Ling thought about it and slowly crawled over. He couldn’t understand the things on the computer at all; even though he knew the words, they became unrecognizable when combined.

Ye Moran noticed the Little Fellow leaning in, the corners of her mouth curling up.

She pretended to be tired and stretched. As she brought her arms down, she pulled the Little Fellow into her arms!

“What, what are you doing? Let go of me!”

“Don’t move. Let me hold you for a while as compensation for you wrongly accusing me this morning, how about it?”

Hearing her mention the morning’s incident, Su Ling immediately stopped struggling. His face turned slightly red; he had indeed wrongly accused her this morning.

Thinking of this, he didn’t resist anymore. Instead, he quietly leaned in her arms, watching her work!

Time passed quickly. The Sun had risen to its highest point, and the scorching sunlight made the room feel warm!

Su Ling felt the sunlight, looked up, and out the window.

It was noon now. The blazing Sun shone on the earth, bringing a golden glow. Green sprouts had just grown out of the grass; everything looked full of life.

Su Ling broke away from her and ran directly to the window, staring blankly at everything.

Just last night, he thought he would never see this again and would grow old and die in that place. But now he was out, and he could see everything!

“I want to go out, out to soak in the Sun!”

“I, I won’t run away!”

Ye Moran looked at the Little Fellow’s determined look. She closed her eyes and spoke softly.

“Alright.”

Saying that one word seemed to take all her strength. She watched the Little Fellow’s silhouette as he immediately ran outside after she finished speaking!

She really wanted to chase after him, pin the Little Fellow against the wall, and tell him fiercely that he wasn’t allowed to go anywhere!

A trace of blood seeped from the corner of Ye Moran’s mouth. She wiped it away casually, took out medicine from her bosom, and swallowed the Pills with the help of the blood in her mouth!

After doing all this, she followed him!

But she didn’t go near the Little Fellow. She just stood by the door, watching him run freely in the Garden!

The Little Fellow seemed… very happy…

Her fingers unconsciously rubbed the Chain in her hand.

Su Ling ran for a while. The initial excitement passed, and before long, he felt a bit cold.

It was still winter. Although the Sun was shining brightly, there was still a hint of chill.

He was only wearing a pair of pajamas, and nothing else!

Finally, he took one last reluctant look at everything around him and slowly walked toward Ye Moran.

“Not going to keep walking around?”

Su Ling gave her a speechless glance.

Ye Moran received no reply and looked at him in silence.
