After a fun weekend of messing around, Lu Ren welcomed his loyal Monday.
Finally finishing classes, just as he was planning to return to the Dormitory to study English vocabulary or play a Game, Lu Ren suddenly received a Notification from the class group.
“Could all Students please not return to the Dormitory yet? There’s an emergency Notification from The Academy that we need to share with everyone. Thank you for your hard work.”

After receiving the Notification, Lu Ren stopped in his tracks and remained silent for several seconds.
Then, with a face full of helplessness, he sighed and turned back toward the Teaching Building.
The other Students nearby had similar reactions.
After receiving the message from the Class Advisor, they cursed and grumbled about wasting their time, but their bodies still obediently walked back to the Classroom designated by the Class Advisor.
About ten minutes later, all the Students in the class had arrived at the fifth-floor Classroom.
They looked at the spectacle-wearing Homeroom Teacher standing on the podium, waiting for him to start speaking some useless nonsense.
The Homeroom Teacher saw the reactions of the Students below and knew exactly what they were thinking.
He cleared his throat, turned on the Computer on the podium, and began projecting a crudely made slideshow for the Students.
“Alright, everyone look over here. I know you all want to go back to the Dormitory or do your own thing, but this is a Notification from The Academy. Every teacher has to do this, so please cooperate.”
“The Class Monitor is here, right? Use your Mobile Phone to record a video, then stand at the back and take a few photos for me. I need them as materials to submit.”
A male Student sitting in the front row heard this and quickly stood up, walking to the back of the Classroom.
He aimed his Mobile Phone at the teacher on stage and the Students below, recording a short video.
Seeing the boy give him a thumbs-up, the Homeroom Teacher nodded and began telling the Students about a recent case.
“We’re mainly here today to talk about anti-fraud and mental health issues. Don’t think these things are far away from you; in fact, fraud and psychological problems are very close to us.”
“When your batch of freshmen first started the semester, outsiders came onto campus to sell you boxes of pens for a hundred dollars.”
“Sitting here now with clear heads, we certainly think no one would spend a hundred dollars on a box of pens. But back then, that outsider sold dozens of boxes. Some were even from the class next door; I remember it clearly.”
“So, fraud never only targets the wealthy. As long as they can swindle money, they don’t care if you’re a student in poverty or a rich second-generation heir—they’ll scam everyone. And the more money you have, the more ruthlessly they’ll cheat you.”
The spectacle-wearing Homeroom Teacher chatted with the Students about examples happening around them, gesturing constantly to try and grab their attention.
A few Students who had been looking down at their Mobile Phones heard him and chose to put them away, listening to the Class Advisor explain these principles they had heard countless times before, like they were listening to a story.
However, most Students, like Lu Ren, were either zoning out or listening to the Class Advisor’s uninteresting content while playing on their Mobile Phones.
Watching the Class Advisor trying his best to educate them on the dangers of fraud, Lu Ren sighed inwardly. He had zero interest in the various scamming methods listed.
It couldn’t be helped; Lu Ren had played a Game called Dungeon & Disconnect a long time ago and had experienced all sorts of outrageous scams within it.
He didn’t know what those scammers were after—using such despicable means just for a few measly in-game coins.
The Game Official provided a way for Players to set up stalls to sell items.
These people would first use titles like “Quitting the game, selling all items for one gold coin” to attract Players, selling off some items worth a few hundred gold coins for cheap.
Once they saw their items being bought instantly every time, they would secretly change the price of an item worth a few hundred gold to hundreds of thousands or even millions.
They capitalized on the Players’ habit of rushing to grab cheap items without thinking, making a massive profit in one go.
It was truly ridiculous.
As for those scammers who used cheats for Game items, they were even more shameless.
Lu Ren remembered clearly that while clearing a dungeon back then, he had obtained an Artifact equipment named “Yi Feng Fan” that was worth a fortune.
He listed it on the Auction House, thinking his hard times were finally over and he wouldn’t have to worry about gold coins ever again.
Then, a player sent him a private message, asking if he could sell the equipment a bit cheaper because he didn’t have much gold left on his account.
He believed him and actually discussed the price with the other party.
After some haggling, they agreed on a trading location and prepared to trade.
Then, once Lu Ren put the Yi Feng Fan in the trade window, the scammer stopped pretending and only offered a symbolic amount of gold coins.
When Lu Ren saw this, he thought the person was just joking around, so he clicked cancel, intending to terminate the trade.
Consequently, for some reason, the mouse click he intended for the cancel button hit the confirm button instead.
With just one more click of confirmation, his Yi Feng Fan would have been given away for free.
If he hadn’t thought quickly and forcibly shut down his Computer on the spot, he probably would have been left with a psychological shadow from the loss.
Afterward, Lu Ren encountered all sorts of bizarre scammers and sales pitches in the Game.
But after the education provided by these two incidents, Lu Ren’s vigilance against scammers was pushed to an extremely high level.
Right up until now.
Recalling his Past experiences of being scammed in the Game, Lu Ren felt a wave of emotion.
He hadn’t expected his anti-fraud awareness to be educated by online games so early on.
While Lu Ren’s mind was wandering, the Class Advisor on stage continued with the Core content of this class meeting.
“…So, even if everyone truly gets scammed, please stay rational and communicate with us in a timely manner.”
“Life isn’t just about current difficulties and situations; you all have a beautiful future ahead of you.”
“Money can be earned back, but once a life is gone, it’s truly gone.”
The spectacle-wearing Homeroom Teacher spoke seriously to the Students, and the slideshow behind him displayed a Diagnosis Certificate with black text on a white background.
Although most of the information on the Diagnosis Certificate had been manually blurred out, the Students could still clearly see the judgment the Doctor had given for this patient.
Barring any miracles, they would remain in a coma for the rest of their life.
All the Students playing on their Mobile Phones below felt a sense of awe and fear toward fraud upon seeing this terrifying Diagnosis Certificate.
They thought to themselves that they must be more careful in the future to avoid being scammed.
Lu Ren, returning to his senses as he looked at the Diagnosis Certificate and the cause, opened his mouth slightly, feeling that something was a bit strange.
This student suffered brain damage and fell into a coma just because they were scammed out of twenty thousand dollars?
If the Class Advisor wasn’t lying to them, this person was scammed yesterday, fell into a coma, and hasn’t woken up since.
Moreover, his Roommate hadn’t noticed anything unusual until this morning when the student wouldn’t get out of Bed despite being called for a long time.
Is this for real…?
