Su Li’s finger was just about to pull the trigger.
Qiang Wei’s mind raced in an instant.
She canceled her transformation? Using an ordinary revolver to attack me?
At such close range? Ridiculous! How could human weapons possibly threaten a Magical Girl? She should be the one who understands this best!
Qiang Wei thought she should immediately use her tentacles to tear Su Li apart.
In Su Li’s weakened state after canceling her transformation, there was no way she could dodge her attack.
However, just as she was about to summon her tentacles, her gaze met Su Li’s eyes.
Although those ice-blue eyes looked a bit dim from blood loss, the expression was too resolute—completely fearless in the face of death.
That was not the look of someone desperately struggling to survive.
A thought suddenly flashed through Qiang Wei’s mind: What gave her such confidence? Could this gun really—
***
That moment of hesitation and doubt made Qiang Wei choose the safest option.
Her body suddenly leaned backward and to the side, trying to avoid the muzzle!
But the two were so close that Su Li’s gun was practically pressed against her heart.
“Bang!”
The sharp gunshot rang out atop the Ferris wheel, shattering the silence of the night.
The bullet didn’t hit Qiang Wei’s heart or head but struck the exposed left shoulder she revealed while dodging.
“Pft!”
The bullet easily tore through Qiang Wei’s black trench coat and pierced into her body.
“Ugh!” Qiang Wei grunted, disbelief washing over her.
The bullet wasn’t deflected by her magic as expected. It had pierced her defenses effortlessly, leaving a hole near her shoulder blade.
An indescribable, excruciating pain immediately spread from the wound, numbing her entire left arm.
Qiang Wei tried to heal herself, but the wound refused to close quickly.
This feeling—
Qiang Wei suddenly lifted her head and stared fixedly at the antique-styled revolver in Su Li’s hand.
“That bullet!”
“That’s right,” Su Li gritted her teeth. She had clearly aimed for Qiang Wei’s heart but had missed.
“Did Chen Xin give this to you?!” Qiang Wei snapped angrily.
That bullet was originally entrusted to Chen Xin—a special bullet designed to harm Magical Girls, causing wounds that were difficult to heal.
She hadn’t expected that one mistake back then would continue to haunt her now.
***
Qiang Wei always had a tendency to underestimate things, and the initial mistake she’d made was now affecting her at every turn, pushing her close to breaking point.
Su Li forced her body, nearly broken from the recoil, to remain steady, the gun still firmly aimed at Qiang Wei.
A bloodshot smile curled at her lips: “So… you remember it. How does this gift taste?”
She quickly shifted the muzzle, locking it onto a somewhat surprised Si An.
“Five shots left,” Su Li’s voice trembled slightly but carried a ruthless edge. “Enough to keep you both here forever.”
Qiang Wei clutched her increasingly painful shoulder, her gaze turning dark with hatred.
“A revolver with five bullets and you think you can kill both of us?” Qiang Wei snarled. “Su Li, you’re just an ordinary person now! Dream on!”
***
Despite her injury, Qiang Wei’s speed remained astonishingly fast. Her uninjured right hand swung sharply, and several black tentacles burst from the shadows like venomous snakes, aiming straight at Su Li.
On the other side, Si An reacted swiftly as well. Seeing Qiang Wei attack, she immediately raised her bow.
A flicker of regret crossed Su Li’s eyes—if only that shot had hit the heart—
But there was no ‘if’.
Faced with their rapid counterattack, Su Li, now weakened and wounded after canceling her transformation, couldn’t fully dodge.
All she could do was give it her all.
“Bang! Bang!”
Two shots fired, but both were stopped by tentacles.
Su Li rolled back abruptly, trying to evade while pulling the trigger again.
However, her movement lagged behind due to pain.
“Shing!” The tip of a stray tentacle sliced across her gun-holding arm like a blade.
“Ugh…” Su Li groaned in pain, unable to hold onto the revolver as it flew from her hand, landing on the ice not far away.
She had lost her greatest means of defense.
***
“Grab her!” Qiang Wei shouted fiercely as more tentacles surged forward.
Si An’s bow music turned aggressive, quickening the rhythm of attack.
Su Li frantically blocked with her hands, but surrounded like this, she was like a leaf in a storm, blood pouring from multiple wounds.
Her consciousness began to blur, her vision dimming.
An ordinary body could never withstand these two monsters.
Finally, under the relentless assault of countless tentacles and melodies, Su Li’s body flew backward like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily onto the cold plaza, rolling several times before collapsing weakly to the ground.
The intense pain blackened her vision in waves; all she could hear was the heavy sound of her own gasping breath.
Blood dripped onto the ice, making faint noises.
No… she couldn’t fall yet.
She struggled, trying to support herself again with her completely powerless arm.
Her arm trembled violently. Gritting her teeth, veins bulging on her forehead, she used sheer willpower to half-rise.
She could still stand?!
Qiang Wei couldn’t believe it. Su Li wasn’t even transformed into a Magical Girl anymore—how was she still able to hold on?!
Yet, just as Qiang Wei prepared to finish her off, Su Li’s body reached its limit.
The next second, the arm supporting her went limp, and she uncontrollably fell forward again.
***
Qiang Wei let out a sigh of relief—the indestructible cockroach was finally down.
But the expected sound of Su Li crashing against the ground never came.
Two arms caught her steadily, carefully cradling her body with a familiar scent.
Su Li struggled to lift her heavy eyelids, her blurry vision meeting a pair of eyes filled with worry.
It was Lu Yuan.
“Don’t move,” Lu Yuan said gently, carefully avoiding Su Li’s severe wounds as she held her firmly, embracing her nearly shattered body.
Feeling the warmth of Lu Yuan’s embrace, Su Li’s tightly wound nerves finally loosened a bit.
“How… did you… get here…?”
She could no longer stay conscious; her head tilted, and she completely lost consciousness in Lu Yuan’s arms.
***
Lu Yuan held the unconscious Su Li, feeling her faint but still present breathing, a heavy stone in her heart slightly lifted, yet an even fiercer killing intent surged up.
She slowly raised her head, eyes locking coldly on the two before her.
Qiang Wei and Si An halted temporarily at her sudden arrival.
Qiang Wei tried to speak but got stuck in her throat.
Because behind Lu Yuan, there were two more people.
“Hey! Is it so impressive to gang up two against one?” Xingye Aoi slammed her giant hammer heavily onto the ice and spoke to Qiang Wei.
She had received Tian Aixing’s message after clearing the disaster and learned of Su Li and Lin Wan’s predicament.
She had immediately set off for the amusement park, got lost on the way, met Lu Yuan, and after learning that Lu Yuan had dealt with Lin Wan’s side of things, they moved together.
But… it seemed their support had still arrived a little late.
Tian Aixing quietly stood behind Lu Yuan, her face still pale, clearly worn from battle, but the massive Underworld Serpent behind her had already reformed, though not at its peak, it still radiated formidable pressure.
Lu Yuan stood in the center, holding the unconscious Su Li.
She looked at Qiang Wei and Si An, whose faces had turned extremely grim, and her voice was ice-cold:
“Hey, it’s time to settle your score.”
