Chapter 9: Vampire

“Mmm… mmm…”

Xu Fengling felt a chill on her neck in her sleep.

It was as if two cold things were pressed against her skin.

And the next second, she felt those two icy things pierce her neck… the pain jolted her consciousness awake from deep slumber.

Right now, she wanted to open her eyes.

But her eyelids were so heavy… her body felt heavy too…

The next sensation was that something was slowly being drawn out from her neck… and what’s inside the neck… fluid… blood?

She was being fed on!

This realization instantly scattered most of Fengling’s drowsiness.

She abruptly opened her eyes, first seeing the ornate ceiling and crystal chandelier… this was her room’s ceiling, nothing unusual.

Then she discovered Sister Ling Yue was leaning over, feeding from the side of her neck.

Her cascading, silky hair spilled onto Xu Fengling’s pillow and shoulders, and she could clearly smell that familiar fragrance.

“Lin… Ling Yue sister…?”

But even though she knew Fengling was awake, Ling Yue still didn’t stop.

At this moment, Fengling felt Sister Ling Yue’s lips pressed tightly against her skin, and those two sharp fangs deeply embedded in her neck.

It was painful and cold, with an indescribable, ambiguous feeling mixed in.

Then, she also felt a stinging pain on her shoulders.

Xu Fengling looked down and saw Ye Lingyue’s hands gripping her shoulders, fingers digging into the flesh.

Those sharp fingernails had already pierced her skin, with traces of blood seeping out.

“Sister Ling Yue… it hurts…”

Xu Fengling whispered.

Hearing this, Ye Lingyue finally lifted her head.

Her lips were smeared with blood, and a thin trail of blood ran from the corner of her mouth down her chin.

Also, she wasn’t wearing contact lenses; those blood-red eyes were fixed intently on Xu Fengling… the next second, she revealed a gentle smile.

She extended her tongue to lick the blood from her mouth, then leaned down to kiss Xu Fengling’s forehead, saying, “Awake now~ Little Fengling.”

“Are… are you feeding on my blood, Sister Ling Yue…”

“Mhm, your blood is very tasty~” she nodded matter-of-factly.

Fengling turned her head to look at her shoulders.

The eight small holes left by the fingernails were still oozing blood, and together with the two fang marks on her neck, they had stained a large patch of her nightgown collar red.

Ye Lingyue followed her gaze, then reached out a finger to wipe one of the wounds, putting the bloodied finger into her own mouth to lick it clean, asking, “Does it hurt? The feeling of me feeding on you.”

“It hurts a little…”

“That’s right then! Pain helps you remember you’re mine~”

She said, reaching out to help Xu Fengling adjust her nightgown collar.

Her movements were as gentle as a mother tidying her child’s clothes… but the blood on her fingers smeared onto the white fabric, leaving a few red fingerprints.

“Sleep a little longer, it’s still early.”

Ye Lingyue stroked her hair.

Xu Fengling looked out the window; the sky was still dark.

“By the way, Sister Ling Yue, aren’t you sleeping?”

“I’ll sleep later.”

Sigh… that answer again.

Xu Fengling nodded, then lay back down.

Ye Lingyue helped tuck the blanket around her, then sat by the bedside watching the adorable little Fengling slowly fall asleep before she finally left the room.

The next day, the first thing Xu Fengling did after waking up was climb out of bed and walk to the mirror, tilting her head to look at her neck.

Those two red fang marks were glaringly obvious… surrounded by a faint ring of bruising.

Her shoulders too, four small red dots neatly arranged on each side.

“I look so pitiful…”

She muttered to herself.

The Vampire’s self-healing ability had long since closed the wounds, but these marks remained… as if they were deliberately left as a mark.

After changing clothes and going downstairs, Fengling came to the kitchen doorway and peeked in, discovering Sister Ling Yue was preparing breakfast for her.

So, she greeted, “Good morning, Sister Ling Yue.”

Ye Lingyue glanced back at her, her gaze lingering on the fang marks on her neck for a moment before she smiled with satisfaction.

“Morning, what would you like to eat today?”

“Uh… a sandwich? Ah, anything is fine!”

“Okay.”

Fengling was wearing a high-necked sweatshirt today, one Ye Lingyue had bought for her a few days ago.

The collar just happened to cover the fang marks on her neck.

But the marks on her shoulders couldn’t be hidden.

When Ye Lingyue brought out the sandwich, the first thing she saw were those marks on her shoulders, so she asked, “Why didn’t you cover these?”

“Can’t cover them!”

Xu Fengling answered honestly.

Ye Lingyue put down the plate, then came over and sat beside her, reaching out a finger to gently press one of the small red dots, asking, “Does it hurt here?”

“It doesn’t hurt anymore, it healed last night.”

“Mhm, let’s eat.”

Ye Lingyue nodded and said.

Fengling took a bite of the sandwich… mmm!

The taste was absolutely excellent!

Sister Ling Yue was good at everything she made—this was the conclusion she’d reached these past few days.

After eating, Ling Yue softly asked, “What do you want to learn today?”

“Magic… I want to practice that Blood Manipulation from last time some more.”

“Okay.”

Next, the two went to the training ground in the basement again.

Fengling stood in the center of the room, extended her hand, and used her own fingernail to make a cut on her palm, carefully watching the blood that flowed out.

Then, the blood floated up from her palm.

It went much smoother today.

That drop of blood hovered steadily above her palm, and she could even manipulate it at will.

“Not bad, much better than yesterday!”

Ling Yue praised with a smile.

“Hehe…”

Xu Fengling grinned proudly.

But, because of that, her attention wavered, and the drop of blood plop fell onto her palm.

“…”

Ye Lingyue immediately burst out laughing.

“What are you laughing at!”

Xu Fengling shouted, pouting angrily.

Ling Yue walked over and took her hand, saying, “Come on, I’ll teach you the next step.”

She used her own fingernail to make another cut on Xu Fengling’s palm.

“Try controlling more blood. Don’t aim for shape yet, just make them all float up first~”

Then, Fengling concentrated.

One drop, two drops, three drops… the blood on her palm separated into four or five drops, then wobbled as they floated up from the wound, hovering above her palm.

“Very good, now try merging them together.”

Hearing this, Fengling tried pushing those blood drops together, making them bump and wobble… then they merged into one mass.

“And then?”

She looked up and asked.

“Then try changing its shape.”

Xu Fengling stared at the blood mass and imagined stretching it out.

The blood mass slowly elongated into a thin strand… though it looked crooked and twisted, not much different from a noodle that had been kneaded countless times.

“This is so ugly…”

She complained.

“Being able to do this on your first try is already very good. Do you know what my sworn sister’s first attempt at this looked like?”

“Like a squashed tomato.”

Fengling was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.

“Really?”

“Really. Back then, her teacher was silent for a long time after seeing it, and finally told her, ‘Maybe you should just go learn close combat.'”

Xu Fengling laughed so hard she doubled over, causing her crooked “blood noodle” to plop onto the floor and splatter into a small patch.

Ye Lingyue reached out and ruffled her hair, saying, “Alright, alright, that’s enough practice for today. Don’t push yourself too hard.”

Xu Fengling wiped the tears of laughter from her eyes.

And as they came out from the basement, Fengling inexplicably asked, “Sister Ling Yue, your magic is so powerful now. How long did you practice for?”

“I’m a Progenitor. I knew everything from the start, no practice needed.”

“Uh… okay.”

No wonder Sister Ling Yue never mentioned any embarrassing stories about her own magic practice—she started with a max-level account from the beginning!

She suddenly felt like she and Sister Ling Yue were on completely different levels…

Could she really fulfill her duty as a boyfriend and protect Sister Ling Yue like this…

Though she wasn’t much of a “boyfriend” anymore in her current state.
