“Are these uncles really from the high school division?” Even Feini couldn’t help but complain.
This is getting a bit ridiculous, isn’t it?
Orange Sea Dream really will stop at nothing to win—she even brought out these eternal repeaters.
The Lost Beast squad had already quietly assumed their battle stances, feeling an unprecedented pressure that clearly emanated from these three elders.
They were on a completely different level compared to any of the other magical beast apprentices they had encountered so far.
Their true identities might not be as noble as the Red Dragon, Scarlet Dragon, or the Nine-tailed Fox, but their combat power wasn’t necessarily any weaker.
If the demon race could stand toe-to-toe with humanity, it was only natural they possessed unique racial advantages, as well as endless potential for advancement.
Occasionally, individuals would emerge who surpassed their racial limits.
To survive countless battles between life and death, to temper a mindset that transcended mortality, to master exceptional unique skills, and to refine their bodies through a thousand trials—those were what we called [Veteran Kings].
On our side, aside from Shijietang Simon and Qingshamu, we were all basically greenhorns who had only slain a bunch of minor magical beasts in the Chaos Mountains.
We likely wouldn’t be able to match up to these veteran king elders.
However, Feini secretly exchanged a glance with Old Mo in the distance.
Luckily, she’d planted a spy on the opposing team.
If things took a turn for the worse, Old Mo could be ordered to betray them at any time.
“Witch Judge, both sides are ready. Can we begin?” Orange Sea Dream, legs crossed in the back, spoke proudly.
“If you’re ready, then start. Don’t waste everyone’s time.” An arrogant, maskless witch floated over slowly, her tone lofty and condescending.
She was none other than the Training Director, the Faceless Witch.
Looks like Feini didn’t just plant a spy on the enemy team—she even made sure the judge was one of her own.
Once the Faceless Witch had spoken, she floated to the side.
The other club leaders and spectators all moved to the second floor to watch, leaving the fighters free to go all out without worrying about collateral damage.
———
Even after the Witch Judge declared the battle could begin, both sides remained extremely patient, closely observing each other.
Making the first move wasn’t necessarily the wisest choice.
Even the Golden Fang Beast Sisters, notorious battle maniacs, weren’t acting rashly.
But the two of them were already huffing, pacing back and forth.
Shijietang Simon and Qingshamu stood one in front of the other, motionless, steady as mountains.
On the other side, the three elders from the Martial Arts Club looked totally relaxed, yawning and appearing not to take the match seriously at all.
The more at ease they seemed, the greater the pressure they brought.
“Second bro, let’s hurry up and finish this so I can go back to sleep,” Bearded Bro drawled lazily.
“Fourth, are you slacking off again? You’ve been coasting your whole life—aren’t you ever going to show us your real skills?” The Golden-haired Old Man snapped angrily.
He really couldn’t work up any interest. Bearded Bro even sat straight down on the floor, utterly unreliable.
In that instant, a golden bolt of lightning flashed forth.
Yeqi seized the opportunity to unleash her full strength, teleporting in front of the about-to-sit Bearded Bro and delivering a Golden Lightning Fist right at him.
Yeqi really had some moves. She might have looked docile, but she was extremely shrewd—striking mercilessly whenever an opponent exposed an opening.
“Bang! Bang!”
But the Golden-haired Elder stepped in front of Bearded Bro in a flash, taking the brunt of Yeqi’s lightning double punches.
“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Yeqi didn’t let up, launching a barrage of double fists for a relentless beatdown on the Golden-haired Elder.
He simply stood there, horse stance steady, taking the hits without striking back.
Bearded Bro just lay down to the side, covering his head with both hands, not even bothering to help.
Before long, Yeqi realized something was off.
The more she hit, the more her hands hurt—as if she was punching solid rock. Her fingers ached terribly.
Helpless, Yeqi stopped her onslaught and swiftly retreated.
Looking closely, she saw the Golden-haired Elder was now coated in a stone-like layer, his entire body appearing even bulkier. No wonder he was so rock solid.
“Is this allowed? He’s revealed his true form,” Feini protested to the Witch Judge.
“That’s just the manifestation of his ability—not his actual form,” the Faceless Witch explained.
This judge was being awfully fair, even though she was supposed to be one of their own. Guess she couldn’t show too much bias.
At this point, it was pretty clear what the Golden-haired Elder’s magical beast form was—a Rock Monster.
“Bang!” The next second, the Stone Man Elder unleashed his signature move: Destructive Charge, headbutting Yeqi and sending her flying.
The Golden Fang Beasts were famed for their reflexes among the demon race, yet even they couldn’t dodge the Stone Man Elder’s tackle.
Clearly, he had mastered Destructive Charge to perfection.
Yeqi’s face was full of shock as she was sent tumbling, completely bewildered.
By all rights, she shouldn’t have been unable to dodge such a straightforward attack.
But the Rock Monster’s charge came without warning—one second he was on guard, the next he was launching a violent assault.
In that instant, it was as if time itself stood still. Even golden lightning couldn’t outrun the Stone Man’s charge.
Once his charge ended, the Stone Man began swinging his heavy fists.
Yeqi, eyes closed, could dodge these slow attacks with ease.
“Bang!” But suddenly, the Stone Man exploded with another burst of speed, slamming forward with an Iron Mountain Crash.
Once again, an attack came out of nowhere.
But Yeqi wasn’t to be underestimated—on the second attempt, she was barely able to react, though she was still hit halfway and sent rolling across the ground, using the momentum to disperse the force.
“Oh? Not bad, little girl—you managed to dodge my attack so soon,” the Stone Man remarked sharply. “Then how about this?”
No sooner had he finished speaking than the Stone Man launched another surprise horizontal attack.
This time, Yeqi managed to dodge it completely.
“Boom!” However, after she avoided the first charge, the second came immediately, aiming at the spot she’d dodged to and landing a crushing blow.
“Ugh…” Yeqi coughed up blood from the impact but had no choice but to grit her teeth and endure it.
The Stone Man’s trump card could be used in succession? Unbelievable! Absolutely insane!
“Wait for me, little sis!” Lianjian, seeing her sister in danger, rushed to help.
But that ghostly, umbrella-toting, slouching guy floated over in a flash.
His movement technique resembled the witches’, his feet never touching the ground.
“Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!”
The next moment, there was the sound of wind being cleaved.
He raised one arm, pointed forward, and his five fingers suddenly extended at breakneck speed, morphing into pitch-black spikes that shot toward Lianjian.
Fortunately, Lianjian was quick to react, swinging her claws to deflect and parry. Otherwise, she would have been skewered.
“Does that even count as a martial arts move?” Feini complained to the judge again.
“Can you shut up? Stop distracting me from enjoying the… ahem, from impartially observing the match,” the Faceless Witch snapped.
That gloomy man’s attack was all about slashing with razor-sharp fingernails—he’d casually flick his arm, tracing unpredictable new attack trajectories, turning his opponent into a mouse trapped in a cage with no escape.
And he was only using one hand to suppress Lianjian. His other hand still held an umbrella—presumably, those five fingers could also become five deadly spikes at any time.
No wonder he was one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Martial Arts.
The moment he attacked, it was clear just how skilled he was.
Each of them possessed unique techniques that dazzled the crowd, and even the usually evenly-matched Golden Fang Beast Sisters were forced to cough up blood—proving the Martial Arts Club’s strength was truly extraordinary, top tier.
“Your opponent is me.”
Elsewhere, White Feather Dove tried circling to sneak attack the enemy’s backline, but was immediately blocked by Dragon Maid Weima Ana Aru.
“Draw!”
Weima Ana drew her saber from her waist, flicked it fancily a couple of times, then sheathed it—only to unleash a powerful Draw Slash.
White Feather Dove instantly activated shield upon shield—the outer Lunar Shield was cleaved by a single strike, but the blade was stopped by the inner layer of Dark Moon Armor.
“……”
“……”
Both were startled by the outcome of their first exchange.
White Feather Dove was surprised that her magical shield had actually been broken through.
The penetration of that woman’s blade was far greater than any attack she’d ever seen—its specialty was breaking through defenses, a perfect counter to her magic turtle shell.
Weima Ana, on the other hand, was astonished by how thick that shield was—it actually blocked her Draw Slash without budging!
“[Darkmoon Enchantment].”
White Feather Dove knew she couldn’t just stand still as before.
She had to stop Weima Ana from unleashing another Draw Slash.
She drew her Rune Sword and began to hack away.
“You’re disgracing the meaning of swordsmanship.”
But to Weima Ana, her opponent’s swordsmanship looked utterly amateurish—a complete joke, as graceless as a butcher hacking meat.
Yet this butcher’s style left Weima Ana no opening to draw her blade.
It was all about close-quarters combat—getting up in your face and hacking away relentlessly.
With White Feather Dove’s double shields, she didn’t fear the blade.
As long as it wasn’t a charged Draw Slash, she could tank any strike.
In a close-quarters slugfest, she couldn’t lose.
In short, it was just plain annoying—completely devoid of a swordsman’s honor.
White Feather Dove was also the classic fifty-fifty master: she couldn’t easily win, but neither could anyone easily defeat her, even if they had the upper hand.
The three hard-practicing members of the Lost Beast squad had been one-on-one locked down by the enemy, unable to make any headway.
That left only the two heavyweights: Shijietang Simon and Qingshamu.
But even they were being marked by the enemy’s top fighters: Bearded Bro, and the well-mannered Vice President of the Martial Arts Club.
“Orange Sea Dream says this one’s a dragon too. Leave her to me,” Bearded Bro finally showed some interest, hands in his pockets.
“Be careful you don’t get roasted. This woman’s no joke,” the Vice President said, pushing up his glasses.
“If she’s not a fire-breathing dragon, I wouldn’t need to get involved.” Bearded Bro grinned, striding confidently toward Shijietang Simon.
“Oh!” But Shijietang Simon was far from honorable—she directly copied the Stone Man’s unpredictable attacks and landed a surprise blazing punch right to Bearded Bro’s face.
Bearded Bro was knocked back five meters, yet he remained standing, not even bending at the waist.
He just took the damage head-on, feet digging in so hard that smoke rose from his soles.
