Waking up in the morning, she quickly glanced at the time—it was already close to nine o’clock.
She had no idea how long Jiang Cheng had been awake, but that guy hadn’t made a single sound the entire time.
Rushing downstairs for a look, sure enough, the obedient girl had already left for school by herself.
Hmm, she wasn’t sure if those demons and beasts had done it on purpose, but at least they hadn’t destroyed the school buildings—didn’t even touch the edges.
So, the students weren’t getting a day off today; classes would proceed as usual!
One could say these dark enemies were downright wicked.
When she reached the dining table, Jiang Lingwei grabbed a note left by Jiang Yao on it:
【Food.】
【I’m off to school first~】
【PS: Mom, you woke up so late today, I’m going to the breakfast shop at the school gate…】
“…”
Blushing, she balled up the note and tossed it into the trash can. Jiang Lingwei stomped her foot anxiously on the spot, then dashed upstairs to the bathroom to wash her face thoroughly. Only then did the heat on her cheeks cool down slightly.
Looking at her adult reflection in the mirror, her cheeks still flushed, she quickly patted her face to help herself wake up.
Jiang Lingwei couldn’t remember what had happened last night anymore.
Her last impression was that she had reminded Jiang Cheng not to worry about her and to get a good sleep.
And yet, not long after, she had fallen asleep herself?
“My goodness…”
She muttered quietly, grabbing a towel to wipe her face. Jiang Lingwei didn’t know what to say.
She and Jiang Yao hadn’t managed to sleep peacefully, yet Jiang Cheng had apparently slept soundly through just one night—even climbed on top of someone?
What was that about?
There was no way she had ever slept with him before…
“Pah, pah, pah.”
She shook her head violently, trying to brush away those lewd thoughts in her mind.
After drying her hands, Jiang Lingwei called out from upstairs,
“Are you ready?”
From the other side, Jiang Cheng replied,
“Ready.”
Hearing this, Jiang Lingwei finally relaxed and walked back into her room.
Since being butted by little Jiang Cheng, she had developed a new understanding of him.
Though she had experienced similar situations before and it wasn’t anything rare, following the principle of ‘kings do not meet kings’—avoiding confrontation—she thought it best not to get involved for now.
Exiting the bathroom, she saw Jiang Cheng already dressed in the same clothes from yesterday, standing there.
They nodded to each other like spies exchanging secret signals on the street.
Jiang Lingwei asked,
“Still in neutral?”
Jiang Cheng gave a thumbs-up,
“Still neutral.”
“How shameless! Hurry to the bathroom, I want to change.”
“Hehe.”
Jiang Lingwei gave him a light kick, which didn’t hurt, and Jiang Cheng laughed sheepishly before heading to the bathroom.
Standing in front of her wardrobe, she picked through her clothes a little.
In the past, she hadn’t cared much about what she wore when going out—any shirt and pants would do.
Fortunately, aside from the styles being female, the clothes in her wardrobe followed the traditional “white on top, black on bottom” look typical for men.
Not that it was unattractive; after all, Jiang Lingwei’s figure and face were impressive.
Because of current societal security concerns, no one dared to approach her randomly on the street, but it wasn’t unusual for passersby to turn and look.
Thanks to her mature physique now, the attention she got was even more than when she went out with her friends as Aurora.
Still, the outfit wasn’t particularly distinctive.
Besides, if she wore that out, paired with Jiang Cheng’s clothes, it would create a strange mix of similar yet different vibes.
Better to pick something else.
Though not by her own initiative, she now had a “male companion.” Even for Jiang Cheng’s sake, she couldn’t appear too casual.
Otherwise, if they went out and people assumed they weren’t a couple, that would be terribly awkward.
“Besides, it’s normal to pay attention to one’s appearance before going out with friends.”
Muttering to herself, Jiang Lingwei’s gaze slowly shifted to a drawer in the lower right corner of her wardrobe. She opened it and peeked inside—the drawer had barely ever been opened.
After a short while, Jiang Cheng called from the bathroom,
“Are you done?”
“Not yet! Wait a bit!”
Jiang Cheng listened to the faint sound of clothes rustling and Jiang Lingwei muttering, “This feels so weird,” from the other room.
After waiting another two minutes, he finally heard her say,
“I’m ready. Come in.”
Jiang Cheng nodded,
“Coming in now.”
He just entered the bedroom when he saw Jiang Lingwei sitting at the edge of the bed, calmly waving to him,
“Let’s go. Today, we’re going to the mall first to buy a few sets of clothes and shoes… especially so you don’t stay in neutral anymore.”
Jiang Cheng was momentarily at a loss for words, his eyes drifting down from hers.
First, the white shirt with a feminine black tie, though it seemed a bit tight—the two perfectly rounded mounds beneath strained against the buttons at the front, almost begging to be helped.
How to help, that was another matter altogether.
Then there was Jiang Lingwei’s other slender hand resting on the edge of the bed, slightly curled, gripping the sheets—a posture that betrayed her calm exterior and revealed her inner turmoil.
Next, Jiang Cheng’s gaze drifted down further to a pair of long legs beneath a gray pleated skirt.
From just above the knees down to the feet, the legs were wrapped tightly in black stockings.
Starting from delicate ankles, their lines flowed naturally like water, calf muscles toned and graceful with not an ounce of excess fat, thighs full and supple—like a masterpiece carved by an artist, every inch perfectly balanced.
The stockings’ texture was fine and smooth, hugging her legs like a second skin.
They shimmered with a subtle matte gloss—understated yet exuding a high-class vibe—making the skin on her thighs appear even fairer and more delicate, adding an air of mystery.
Her feet, clad in fuzzy red bunny slippers, curled slightly upward from nerves, lending a youthful charm amid her mature aura.
“Look up!”
Jiang Lingwei’s voice suddenly broke through his daze.
“Yes!”
Jiang Cheng immediately lifted his head.
“No way.”
Their eyes met briefly, and Jiang Lingwei shyly averted her gaze.
That drawer she had given up on from the start contained several brand-new pairs of stockings.
She hadn’t never worn them before.
Back when she went shopping as Aurora with her friends, Beifeng had dragged her into several outfit pairings involving stockings in advance.
And Wen Yanquan’s “work uniforms” often included stockings as well.
But she had never worn such things when going out with other men!
Before, Beifeng took care of all the female image matters. Whenever they planned a day out, she’d drag Jiang Lingwei to pick clothes with a serious, businesslike attitude—sometimes changing multiple outfits until they found the right one.
If it weren’t for the constant shutter sounds from Beifeng’s camera, Jiang Lingwei might have felt bad for troubling her much longer.
As a result, Jiang Lingwei had never seriously considered such issues before.
Now, going out, she either just threw on some random outfit, or else stuck to the old formula.
As for skirts?
Don’t ask—it’s all formulaic.
Otherwise, she couldn’t very well wear stockings and not be a proper lady!
Seeing Jiang Cheng’s impeccable posture, Jiang Lingwei quietly said,
“Come on, Chengzi, give your verdict?”
“Looks good!”
Jiang Cheng stared unblinking at the air above her head, resolute and upright.
Then, for some reason, he slightly bowed forward.
“Well…” Jiang Lingwei knew there was nothing more to say. If he said it looked good, then it looked good.
She nodded and said, “Fine, I’ll wear this one.”
Her hand, which had been clutching the bedsheet tightly, gradually relaxed and propped her up from behind.
Feeling more at ease, Jiang Lingwei looked at Jiang Cheng, still standing in place,
“If you want to look, go ahead. Clothes are for others to see—I’m fine with it.”
“Who? Who else is watching?”
Jiang Cheng’s gaze returned to her as he leaned forward, making a playful grimace.
“Protecting your food?”
Jiang Lingwei patted his shoulder,
“You were spaced out just now.”
“That’s because I remembered something.”
Jiang Cheng’s eyes darkened as he replied.
“Hm?!”
Jiang Lingwei’s eyes widened,
“What did you remember?”
“Back then… when I saw you…”
“Mm! Mm!”
“…you wore white stockings more often…”
“Jiang! Cheng!”
With a coquettish shout, a foot landed on Jiang Cheng’s face.
