After finishing his shower, Lu Ren sat at his desk, recalling what he had just dreamed and trying to reason out a plausible explanation based on the scenes from the Dream to convince himself.
Otherwise, he couldn’t find any reason for suddenly having such a Nightmare.
Lu Ren considered his recent days to be smooth and uneventful, with no trouble at all; there was simply nothing in reality that would make him have such a bizarre Dream.
Why did he have a Nightmare in the first place?
“…Sigh, forget it.”
Sitting in the chair for quite some time, Lu Ren still couldn’t figure out what the Dripping Water Sound and the grotesque monster in the Dream symbolized, so he could only shake his head helplessly and give up pondering alone.
He opened his phone and searched for relevant keywords on the browser, and Lu Ren did get the Answer he was looking for.
But there were just too many Answers, and Lu Ren noticed that every Website seemed to have a different explanation for dreaming about Dripping Water Sound.
Some said life would become more prosperous, some said he’d face setbacks, and some even claimed he’d encounter wise mentors and friends…
If the Answers he found were just these ordinary responses, it wouldn’t be a big deal.
But the ridiculous part was, someone actually said that dreaming of Dripping Water Sound meant he would encounter supernatural Events, with a risk of dying unknowingly.
Goodness, just to lure people onto their Website to interpret Dreams, they could even spout such malicious Curses?
Lu Ren was truly amazed today.
As for those Answers, which were no different from nonsense, Lu Ren chose not to believe any of them.
He put down his phone, got up, poured himself a glass of warm water, and decided to temporarily set aside these messy things and ignore them.
“I never thought someone like me, who never believed in this stuff, would actually get so scared just because of a slightly more realistic Nightmare.”
“…Let’s see if I can find someone for some Psychological Counseling today.”
Lu Ren picked up his cup, muttering to himself, planning to proactively seek help from others because of this strange Dream.
……
“Ding ling ling~ ding ling ling~ ding ling ling~”
In the blink of an eye, it was almost noon.
After finishing the last class of the morning, Lu Ren sat in his seat, and the strange Dream from last night started replaying in his mind again.
Since the start of the semester, this was the first time he’d had a Nightmare.
It had to be said, it really did leave a “deep Impression.”
“Ren-ge, why are you still sitting here? It’s Holiday now, aren’t you going back to play games?”
Xu Wenxing packed up his things and, seeing Lu Ren sitting motionless in his seat, asked curiously.
“…You go ahead. I’m thinking about something. I’ll head back after I’m done.”
Hearing Xu Wenxing’s voice, Lu Ren came back to himself, glanced around the nearly empty Classroom, fell silent for a moment, and replied to Xu Wenxing.
“Alright then, I’ll go first?” Xu Wenxing asked again.
“Go on, go on, I’ll leave soon too.”
Lu Ren waved his hand at Xu Wenxing, signaling him not to worry.
Although a bit puzzled, Xu Wenxing still left the Classroom with his things, disappearing from Lu Ren’s sight.
And after Xu Wenxing left, the other classmates in the Classroom gradually left as well, starting to enjoy their rare Holiday.
In no time, the spacious Classroom was left with only Lu Ren.
“Hoo…”
After sitting in the Classroom pondering for a while, Lu Ren shook his head, packed up his things, and also left the Classroom.
But as he reached the stairway, he suddenly stopped, falling into thought.
Logically, he should go downstairs, carry his things back to the Dormitory, ignore those Nightmares, and just have fun.
But the Nightmare was just too strange, with too many suspicious points, and he really wanted to share what he saw in the Dream and seek help from someone.
Although, normally, no one would be so bored as to use their time to answer such nonsensical questions for others.
But…
For some reason, Lu Ren suddenly thought of the Professor.
In his mind, the Professor was both knowledgeable and understanding.
If he asked for help, the Professor would probably be willing to help him.
Well, probably.
Though lacking confidence, Lu Ren thought for a moment and still decided to go upstairs to the Professor’s Office and ask about his situation.
After all, at worst, the Professor would just scold him for being unmotivated.
He didn’t need to pay, and it wasn’t as if he’d lose a piece of flesh.
No harm in trying.
With this thought, Lu Ren made his way to the door with the sign “Li Qingyuan,” politely knocking on the door.
“Knock knock knock…”
“The door’s unlocked, come in.”
The Professor’s voice came from inside.
Lu Ren silently encouraged himself, double-checked his mental draft, took a deep breath, and walked in.
Seeing that the visitor was actually Lu Ren, Li Qingyuan raised his brows, showing a trace of surprise.
But he quickly composed himself and spoke to Lu Ren.
“Find a seat.”
“Alright, thank you, Professor.”
Lu Ren pulled over a chair and sat opposite Li Qingyuan’s desk, and then, watching the stacks of various documents on the desk, he carefully asked Li Qingyuan,
“Professor, I have a question. Could you help me with it?”
“What’s the question? Go ahead. Is there a knowledge point you don’t understand?” Li Qingyuan adjusted his glasses and asked.
“No, it’s a real-life question… uh, no, maybe it’s not exactly a real-life question.”
Lu Ren watched Li Qingyuan’s expression, deciding that if he saw even a hint of displeasure, he’d leave immediately.
“Don’t be nervous, just speak your mind.” Li Qingyuan said calmly.
“Okay, I’ll say it, then. Last night, I had a Nightmare. The content of the Dream was roughly like this…”
Seeing that the Professor showed no intention of sending him away, Lu Ren relaxed a lot and began to describe his Dream in full detail.
To avoid any misunderstanding, Lu Ren deliberately used the plainest words to explain all the strange sights he saw in the Dream, without any embellishment.
After he finished recounting everything from the Dream, Lu Ren paused, made sure he hadn’t missed anything, cleared his throat, and said to Li Qingyuan,
“That’s all the stuff I dreamed about last night.”
“Professor, I know my question isn’t very proper—it’s not the sort of thing a student should be asking.”
“But I really want to know what the things I saw in the Dream symbolize, and why I’d Dream of such strange things.”
After saying all this, Lu Ren felt much better inside.
Even if the Professor kicked him out immediately, he wouldn’t have any complaints.
But to Lu Ren’s surprise, after listening silently for a few seconds, Li Qingyuan suddenly smiled and muttered to himself,
“How interesting, to have a Dream like this…”
