Boom!
Instantly, sand and stones flew everywhere, and thick dust billowed into the air.
Seeing this scene, the disciples were all shocked. Every one of them stood there slack-jawed, their eyes filled with disbelief.
One had to know that Long Feiyu was a top-tier standout among the sect’s younger generation. Now, he had been easily kicked away by Gu Ming. It was truly hard to believe.
‘Long Feiyu must have been careless. That has to be it,’ one disciple thought, finding a reason enough to convince himself. He spoke to the disciple beside him, and seeing the other man nod in agreement, his voice grew a few notches louder.
“Right, exactly! Long Feiyu is one of the top ten young disciples in the Inner Sect. How could he possibly lose?”
“Exactly, exactly! It’s impossible. Long Feiyu must have been careless!”
They could not accept that Gu Ming was stronger than Long Feiyu. How could a pretty boy who relied on his looks to enter through the back door win against an existence they had always looked up to?
When the dust settled, Long Feiyu’s pathetic appearance was revealed.
He slowly rose from the pit, his body swaying unsteadily. Crimson blood poured down from the top of his head, sliding across his face. Covered in blood, he looked quite hideous.
He bared his teeth and widened his eyes, looking like a ferocious beast.
Long Feiyu was furious.
He didn’t understand why he couldn’t move at the critical moment.
‘Was I cursed? No. Did he use some kind of magic treasure?’
Just as he was lost in his confusion, he heard the shouts of support from the surroundings.
“Long Feiyu, pay attention next time! Don’t be careless. This guy actually has one or two tricks up his sleeve.”
“Yeah, yeah! Long Feiyu, keep it up! You are the face of our sect!”
“Long Feiyu, if you lose to someone who used the back door, you’ll be the laughingstock of the entire sect by tomorrow!”
…
The onlookers cheered for Long Feiyu one after another, shouting their support. However, to Long Feiyu’s ears, these words were nothing but annoying noise.
He knew better than anyone else that the counterattack from the man in front of him was by no means a fluke. Gu Ming had real strength.
However, the bystanders were right about one thing.
He had indeed been a bit careless and had looked down on Gu Ming.
This was an opponent worthy of his full strength.
*Hoo—*
He exhaled a long breath of turbid air to steady his mind and grinned. “I admit I underestimated you a bit. But next time, you won’t be so lucky.”
After saying that, he gave a furious roar. A terrifying amount of Spiritual Energy erupted from his body. He tightened his grip on the spear in his hand. Then, he kicked off the ground and surged forward again like a bolt of lightning.
“Thunderclap Spear!”
With a low growl, the spear danced wildly in Long Feiyu’s hands. The sharp tip lunged directly at Gu Ming’s face, accompanied by crackling lightning. The lightning was incredibly domineering, tearing through the air.
*Crackle! Crackle!*
The sound of electricity never stopped.
However, he suddenly came to a halt mid-strike. Looking down, he saw three small swords appearing around him.
Immediately, his eyes widened. The Spiritual Energy in his body was dissipating at an incredible speed, and his proud Thunderclap Spear vanished in the blink of an eye.
The Spiritual Energy in his body suddenly bottomed out, causing him to collapse onto the ground.
He glared at Gu Ming with gritted teeth and roared, “How despicable! You coward, you actually used a Spirit-Devouring Formation to launch a sneak attack!”
“What’s despicable or not? As long as I win, that’s all that matters,” Gu Ming said dismissively.
Actually, Gu Ming had his own concerns, which was why he hadn’t used True Words on Long Feiyu. If he used True Words too much, someone would surely notice something was wrong, which would inevitably lead to unnecessary trouble.
Moreover, with so many people watching now, he had to be even more cautious.
Besides, there was no need to waste any more time on a mere child.
Seeing this scene, the onlookers were instantly filled with righteous indignation and joined the chorus of condemnation against Gu Ming.
“Despicable and shameless! First, you attacked while he wasn’t looking, and now you use a Spirit-Devouring Sword Formation to launch a sneak attack! Do you have no shame?”
“Shameless guy! Get out of Saintess Mountain immediately! we don’t want someone like you here!”
“Shameless! Shameless! Get out! Get out!”
…
Gu Ming completely brushed off the surrounding denunciations. He thought to himself, ‘Why are these people so naive? They actually expect a fair and honorable duel. If this were a real battlefield, they would be meat on an enemy’s chopping block, left to be slaughtered at will.’
Gu Ming walked toward Long Feiyu and looked down at him coldly.
Long Feiyu looked up, and upon meeting those icy eyes, a shiver ran down his spine. His previous arrogance vanished instantly, replaced by a sense of dread.
He seemed to sense what Gu Ming was about to do and shouted, “What are you doing? My grandfather is the Second Elder! If you dare touch me, my grandfather will never let you off!”
“Sorry about that. I happen to dislike trouble. If people like you come looking for trouble every other day, I’ll have a massive headache. So, I can only use you to kill the chicken to scare the monkeys and make them back off.” Gu Ming’s eyes were cold, and a bloodthirsty smile played on his lips.
“My grandfather is the Second Elder! My grandfather is the Second Elder! My grandfather is the Second Elder!”
Long Feiyu was frightened out of his wits by Gu Ming’s aura. He kept shouting that his grandfather was the Second Elder, as if his brain couldn’t think of anything else that might intimidate Gu Ming.
“That’s perfect. Since I even dare to beat the Second Elder’s grandson, who else would dare to provoke me in the future?”
Gu Ming hooked his finger, and the three Flying Swords returned to his sleeve. Then, he raised a fist as large as a sandbag and swung it down while Long Feiyu watched in horror.
One punch.
Two punches.
At this point, some people tried to step forward to stop him, but Gu Ming frightened them back with a single glance.
After scaring off those cowards, Gu Ming continued to swing his fists.
Three punches.
Four punches.
…
Seeing Gu Ming hitting harder and harder, some disciples ran to find the Second Elder, while others sought out Xiao Yue, hoping she could stop Gu Ming’s violence.
“Senior Sister Xiao Yue, stop him quickly! Long Feiyu is about to be beaten to death!”
Xiao Yue tilted her head and said innocently, “But the Saintess only told me to take good care of Lord Wuming.”
“But he’s beating Long Feiyu! The Second Elder definitely won’t let him go. How is that taking good care of him?” the person argued.
Xiao Yue thought about it for a moment, as if having a sudden epiphany. “That’s true.”
However, she then added, “It’s a bit late now. Forget it, the Second Elder is going to show up regardless.”
As the final punch landed, Long Feiyu’s face was bruised and swollen, and one of his front teeth had been knocked out. He fell backward, completely unconscious.
Gu Ming clapped his hands together. Just as he was about to leave, the sky suddenly underwent a drastic change. A huge vortex formed, and a surge of massive Spiritual Energy poured down from the sky, making it hard for everyone to breathe.
Then, an aged voice thundered from the heavens:
“Brat, you’re looking for death!”
