The great families of the east, west, south, and north were like lambs each occupying a patch of pasture, and between these four pastures, there was always the silhouette of one who came and went—the shepherd of the flock, Noel.
Legend has it that Dave Noel, originally an ordinary shepherd, was chosen by the gods. He eventually subdued the four great houses, bringing peace and prosperity to the continent.
“Long live Dave Noel, King of All Races!” The people hailed the man who ended the long years of war as their king and named the kingdom Noel after him. His family became the rulers for generations, and their words were seen as decrees passed down directly from the gods.
The one who commanded both the Church and the Kingdom, the true supreme—this was the Noel of the central authority, at least until the Demon King Solomon Noel was torn to pieces by the four great houses…
Although the entire Noel family is now treated as remnants of the old kingdom—captured and executed—and the silhouettes of the divine apostles have vanished, the traces of Noel’s hundreds of years of rule still remain within the kingdom. It is from this history that the legend of the Forbidden Legacy was born.
According to the legends, the Demon King Solomon Noel possessed the world’s greatest treasure. The holder would obtain supreme authority; this was the Forbidden Legacy.
Rumors claimed that whoever obtained it could control the entire kingdom. Of course, whether it truly existed was known only to the former heads of the four families who personally killed the Demon King and scattered his ashes.
Those were the great-grandfathers of Evelyn, Emil, and Miona. However, they now rest in their graves, buried deep underground, leaving behind nothing but ethereal rumors.
Now, however, it was said that the Forbidden Legacy was right here in Regtaya—at least according to Miona Draco.
Erica felt a tremor in her soul.
Was this fate? Or was it a revelation, a sign that she, Erica Noel, should and would obtain that legacy?
Wasn’t this the classic protagonist template?
Erica leaned against the second-floor balcony. The night wind caught the hem of her dress as her face, deep in thought, was half-covered in shadow and half-bathed in moonlight. This gave the Alluring Enchantress an indescribable aura—dangerous yet holy, fragile yet resolute.
“What are you doing there?”
Just then, someone walked toward the girl standing in the moonlight. Turning her head, she saw golden hair fluttering and swaying in the breeze under the bright moon.
“Lord Emil, is the conversation over?”
“Mostly? But what are you doing here all by yourself?”
“No, I was just thinking about the Forbidden Legacy.”
The Big Guy’s appearance seemed perfectly timed to Erica. Perhaps through Emil, she could learn what had been discussed at the roundtable meeting during her absence.
“So, is the Forbidden Legacy really in this city?”
“I don’t know. Draco says so. I heard they finally obtained some intelligence here a week ago. But she always speaks in riddles and hasn’t said anything clearly.”
“I see.”
Intelligence obtained a week ago? According to the original storyline, Miona Draco shouldn’t be in the Cathedral City of Regtaya right now. Because Erica successfully suppressed the rebellion, the Draco family no longer needed to return to the Noel interior.
The result was the accidental acquisition of information regarding the Forbidden Legacy. Was that how it worked? This was likely a turning point in fate that had already been set in motion.
“Phew—” Emil stood still beside the girl, looking down at the darkness below the balcony. “The Demon King’s treasure? You’re actually seriously thinking about something that sounds like a fairy tale. A treasure that lets you rule the kingdom just by getting it? How could such a thing possibly exist?”
“You don’t believe in it, Lord Emil?”
“I don’t. Becoming a king isn’t about getting some treasure, nor is it about pulling an axe out of a stone—the axe of that crazy woman who calls herself a goddess.”
“Is that the story of the Lion King Leones?”
“Exactly. He’s my ancestor. It’s said he pulled that axe from a stone and was recognized as king. But that’s just a fabricated story. In reality, he was chosen as king simply because his combat ability was outstanding.”
What a ‘Sword in the Stone’—or rather, ‘Axe in the Stone’—legend.
“I see.”
“What, do you actually believe in it? That so-called Forbidden Legacy? You don’t look like the type to believe in such absurd, nonsensical ghost stories.”
Ghost stories are ethereal, but the legacy was something that truly existed.
The proof that allowed her to believe in such an utterly ridiculous thing was Erica herself. Since a descendant of the Demon King was standing right here, it wasn’t surprising that things like a Demon King’s legacy existed as well.
If Erica were a more traditional ‘overpowered female lead’ protagonist, she would suspect that the legacy had only awakened because she arrived in this city, and now it was just waiting for her to go pick up the delivery.
If she could just obtain it, reviving the Noel family would be as easy as flipping her palm.
“Whoosh—” Emil suddenly grabbed the girl’s collar, interrupting her thoughts.
“Enough about that. So, how have things been lately?”
“What things?”
“The secret, obviously. What we did together… is it still hidden well? Nobody has found out, right?”
“Ah, of course. But we should reduce the number of times we meet alone like this. Evelyn seems to be getting a bit suspicious.”
“Is that so…?”
Since that day, Erica and Emil had been meeting privately quite often. One could call it a secret tryst, but due to their genders and statuses, Evelyn hadn’t seemed to think in that direction.
In that case, should it be said that this felt like an unknown secret love, an underground affair?
Well, using a term like ‘secret love’ might not be entirely accurate. After all, the two hadn’t officially established a relationship. Erica still had misgivings in her heart, and the Big Guy was a hopelessly stubborn ‘tsundere.’
“Erica, we need to ‘seal the secret’ today as well.”
Emil tapped her lips gently with her fingertip. Erica felt her legs go weak from the scare. She hurriedly looked around. Since it was late, the second-floor balcony of the Great Cathedral was silent and deserted, but it wouldn’t be strange for someone to suddenly walk by.
“Here? What if someone comes?”
“Who would come? Evelyn and Miona are busy drinking tea right now. Anyway, hurry up and give me a seal.”
The so-called “seal” naturally referred to a kiss. This was something she and Emil did occasionally when they were alone lately. The first few times, Erica had given in after some half-hearted resistance, but this was the first time Emil had demanded a kiss in such an open place. The girl suspected Emil was awakening some questionable hobby.
“Lord Emil, this doesn’t seem very appropriate.”
“What’s inappropriate about it?”
Emil spoke unreasonably. Relying on her ‘muscle-girl’ stats, her strength was far greater, and before she knew it, the girl had been pressed against the wall, completely unable to resist.
“Rustle, rustle.”
The Big Guy’s arms slid directly under Erica’s armpits, lifting her slightly. Ultimately, unable to move, Erica had no choice but to let Emil slowly bring her face close. She pursed her lips and gave her a glare.
The warm breath from the blonde girl brushed against Erica’s cheek. Soft lips covered the cherry-colored ones. “Mnh… chu… slurrrp.”
Emil’s tongue slipped into her mouth. The moist tip carried the sweet taste of strawberries, likely because she had just eaten dessert.
“You were looking forward to it too, weren’t you? Hmm? Erica… you were… mwah… looking forward to it too.” Emil continued speaking, pressing the girl’s body tightly against hers as her palms stroked the girl’s thin shoulders and back.
“Are you going to say you don’t like it, hmm? You clearly love it. Didn’t you say you liked me? Don’t you ‘enchantress’ want to become a member of the Leones family?”
It was soft. Even through their clothes, Erica could clearly feel the mounds pressing against her. Emil’s powerful thighs pressed forward, forcing the skirt backward and clinging to her body, outlining Erica’s graceful silhouette.
Emil knew exactly what her actions meant, but looking at the adorable girl in her arms, she still couldn’t help herself.
The scorching breath left Erica’s thoughts in a mess.
“Hmm? Why is something slippery wrapping around my thigh? Hmm? What is… this…?”
