Millie took three small hops and arrived at Felusa’s side. After a brief check, she found no obvious external injuries, though Felusa looked a bit weary.
Her once-white robes were stained with a great deal of dust. Even so, nothing could suppress the temperament radiating from within her.
Felusa wore a gentle smile as she stroked Millie’s long white hair, using her thumb to wipe away the dust on the girl’s face.
At the beginning of the battle, Millie had used a disguise spell. However, during the fight, the mana surging through her body had long since restored her hair to its natural white state.
“I am sorry, you have suffered.”
“Felusa, did you escape on your own?”
Previously, Felusa had been captured by that bastard witch. Elena had used her as leverage to force Millie into attending the Silver Party.
Millie had no choice but to obey for the sake of Felusa’s safety, but she had not been easy on the witch either. Not only did she subject Elena to constant sarcasm, but she had also prepared steel inner armor.
“I suppose so?” Felusa explained. “I was blindsided by the witch. When I woke up, I found myself locked in a dry well.”
“There was a silence magic circle around me, making it impossible to cast spells.”
“It took quite a lot of effort to erase the magic circle.”
“By the time I returned to the surface, Millie was already gone. After asking around, I learned you had taken a carriage deep into the forest.”
“Then, I hurried over as fast as I could.”
“And just as I arrived, I saw Millie about to be attacked by a tentacle.”
Millie had been quite excited at first to see that Felusa had escaped on her own, but at the mention of the tentacle, her small face instantly turned beet red.
“Don’t bring up the one thing I’d rather forget! —”
Millie swung her small fists, thumping them against Felusa’s chest.
The chest was very elastic. Millie felt awkward, yet she also felt that this sensation was something she had missed for a long time.
‘Speaking of which, this feeling is quite strange.’
Felusa attacked without restraint, and while Millie’s shoulders flinched, she wasn’t actually moved by the teasing. After all, she was wearing metal inner armor.
The metal armor was meant to guard against Elena. Felusa naturally didn’t know that, right? She even tried to confirm the texture with her hands.
“Have you touched enough already! —”
Millie hit Felusa on the head, but Felusa was quick and caught Millie’s hand directly. Millie puffed out her cheeks and turned around to straighten her clothes.
“I’m sorry. I went to the party behind your back.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Millie realized something was wrong.
‘Why am I apologizing? I’m not in a relationship with Felusa. Even if our relationship is physical, if I go out and find a mature woman, Felusa shouldn’t be able to control me, right?’
“Rest assured, I will not blame you.”
Without another word, Felusa wrapped her arms around Millie’s waist.
Those two soft, ample weights pressed against Millie’s back, making her feel dazed and flustered.
“I should not have left you. I failed to protect you and caused you to suffer,” Felusa whispered into her ear. “Besides, weren’t you well-prepared?”
Felusa tapped on Millie’s underwear.
It made a metallic *thump*, looking quite comical, though it left Millie feeling a bit shy.
“Don’t get all handsy! …”
Despite her words, she didn’t resist. Even if she was being teased by Felusa, Millie felt it was fine now.
Elena had fled halfway through, and Millie had worried she wouldn’t be able to find Felusa. She hadn’t expected Felusa to escape on her own. It made sense, though; Felusa was a Saintess, after all.
Moreover, she was quite cunning, so of course she would be able to get out.
She just didn’t know where Elena had gone.
‘She probably escaped long ago. It looks like I won’t be able to get my revenge.’
‘Bullying me wasn’t enough, she had to lock up Sister Felusa too. I’ll remember this debt. Next time I run into you, I’ll settle the score!’
“Gaaaaaah! —”
The roar of the monster drifted over.
Millie froze and looked over in a panic.
The hollow hole that had been pierced through the monster had mostly healed. It struggled to climb up, waving the several tentacles that had grown from its back.
“It’s still not dead…”
“Little Millie, look out! —”
Felusa scooped Millie up by the waist. Millie’s face flushed as she instinctively huddled into Felusa’s embrace. Felusa leaped backward, dodging the tentacle’s strike.
“Millie, what is this monster?”
“The witch held the party just to summon this thing! It’s not in its complete form yet. We have to kill it while it’s weakened! —”
“Understood. We shall face it together!”
The tentacles attacked again, but the monster was already injured. Its speed had slowed significantly, and its crawling pace was comparable to a snail’s.
Felusa timed her movements perfectly, carrying Millie as she dodged left and right.
Millie was a bit embarrassed, but she calmed herself down.
She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and focused on chanting her magic.
Before, she had to stay alert for the monster while casting. She didn’t have enough chanting time, making her spells relatively weak. Now, she only needed to focus on the offense.
As for defense, she could leave that to Felusa. Millie trusted Felusa; she felt a great sense of security.
“Hmph, Holy Shield!”
Felusa gave a cold snort and cast a light shield spell. Even if she wasn’t skilled in offensive magic, she was adept at defensive spells.
The tentacles slammed into the golden light shield, causing cracks to appear. Felusa gave a triumphant smile and carried Millie away. The shield was merely a distraction; Felusa would not simply sit and wait for death.
Seeing that it couldn’t hit its enemies, the monster let out an angry roar.
At that moment, Millie opened her eyes.
She jumped down from Felusa’s arms, her body wrapped in powerful mana. She raised her right hand high, and mana surged out, forming a golden magic circle in mid-air.
“Come forth, Celestial Judgment!”
The magic circle in the sky erupted with an intense pillar of light, instantly illuminating the entire forest.
“Gaaaaah! Gaaaaaaah! —”
The pillar of light descended upon the monster with a world-destroying momentum. The monster let out a heart-wrenching scream, struggling in agony as its tentacles flailed wildly.
However, it could not break free from the constraints of the light pillar.
“I hate this… I hate this so much! —”
It wasn’t the monster’s voice, but the voices of witches. Countless witches’ voices overlapped, sounding exceptionally shrill and miserable.
“Gaaaa…”
The monster’s voice grew weaker, and its struggles grew smaller.
Finally, it slowly collapsed to the ground, beginning to turn into black powder starting from its four limbs. It gave Millie one last glare with its crimson eyes before vanishing unwillingly.
The evening breeze blew, carrying a faint scent of burning.
Millie stood dazed for a moment before breaking into a joyful smile.
“Great! We won! It won’t be getting back up this time!”
Millie skipped over and held out her palm toward Felusa. Felusa blinked, unsure of what Millie wanted. Millie gave her a flat look.
“A high-five! We’re really out of sync!”
“Uh, a high-five…”
Felusa smiled and reached out, but Millie felt the atmosphere had been ruined.
Suddenly, a wave of crushing pressure surged forth.
Felusa gasped and quickly stepped in front of Millie.
On the hillside not far away, space was eerily torn open. Within the rift, a mysterious starry pattern shimmered, a sight that could only be described as breathtaking.
A young girl dressed in a white robe slowly stepped out. Her white twin-tails fluttered in the wind, and her red eyes looked down upon everything with disdain.
Millie swallowed hard, feeling an instinctive sense of terror.
Even the Demon God from just now, even if it had been fully resurrected, would have been like a common ant in front of this white-robed girl—something that could be crushed with ease.
