Millie had no idea what this thing was.
She didn’t know its characteristics or its weaknesses. If Elena were here, perhaps she could have offered some guidance, but Elena had long since fled.
‘I suppose it’s a half-finished product of a Demon God?’
She hadn’t expected those witches to be so insane that they would use their own lives to construct a body for a Demon God.
“I won’t be foolish enough to wait for you to evolve!”
Millie waved her hand, and countless magic circles bloomed beside her.
Within the magic circles, golden spears flickered in and out of view. In an instant, the spears fell like a torrential rain, repeatedly piercing the ugly mass of flesh.
A moment later, the scene was a complete mess.
However, the flesh that had been turned into scraps began to aggregate once more.
Millie froze for only half a second before launching another attack.
This time the scale was even larger; she was confident she could destroy half the forest. However, the monster stretched out one hand and blocked Millie’s bombardment again.
At the same time, the condensation of the flesh was complete.
“Gaaahhhhh! —”
It looked like a bloated, obese infant that only knew how to crawl on its hands and feet. Countless tentacles sprouted from its back, and the bright red appendages lashed out toward Millie.
*Slap! Slap!* —
Millie leaped left and right, constantly changing her position.
The tentacles smashed into the ground, and the scent of soil wafted toward her.
Millie steadied herself and looked at the large craters, her face turning pale.
The only advantage was that the opponent’s mana was very chaotic. This meant that, for now, it could only launch attacks using brute force rather than magic.
‘Does she really want me to fight this alone?’
Millie looked around reluctantly.
Sure enough, Elena was nowhere to be found.
‘Could she have done this on purpose?’
‘Did she want to create this situation so I would be forced to fight the Demon God?’
‘She’s probably waiting for us both to be exhausted so she can make a grand entrance. Then she can lock me in the dungeon again and humiliate me in every possible way.’
“Bastard! Elena, you total bastard!”
Her aura erupted, making the surrounding leaves rustle.
As a tentacle struck, Millie took a large leap backward. She held her hands up, and a dazzling golden light emanated from her palms. She hadn’t intended to use this, but now she had no choice but to stop holding back.
In an instant, a golden spear materialized in her hand.
The shaft was sturdy and wrapped in golden lightning.
An old saying couldn’t help but echo in her mind: Lancers always have Rank E Luck. This was also why she was reluctant to use this weapon.
However, she had obtained this weapon from Leona.
Leona treasured this weapon dearly and even called it the “Eternal Spear.” It sounded like it had a grand origin, but Millie couldn’t feel that kind of imposing aura from it.
‘I guess this Eternal Spear is just a replica.’
‘Didn’t Elena mention that Leona was researching artificial artifacts?’
“Gaaahhhhh! —”
The monster lunged forward with immense momentum.
Millie was as light as a swallow, soaring into the air instantly. She swung the spear, and it moved like a golden meteor, instantly blowing apart countless tentacles.
“Kaaaahhhhh! …”
The monster twisted in pain, and Millie frowned.
She had wanted to kill it in one hit, but she had only managed to sever a few tentacles.
“Die! Just die!”
“Damn Goddess Cult, give me back my family’s lives!”
Millie tilted her head in surprise, thinking she had heard something. She realized that the monster couldn’t speak; rather, it was a specific part of the monster’s flesh that was talking.
That part of the flesh bulged into the shape of a human face.
It looked like the head of one of the witches that had been merged into the mass.
Millie felt a wave of nausea and covered her mouth, taking several steps back.
She nearly vomited, but fortunately, she held it in.
“You witches won’t even let people rest in peace after you’re dead!”
Millie held the spear in one hand, her eyes sharp as she charged toward the monster.
The monster swung its tentacles to counterattack, and the mana in its body was gradually becoming more organized. Millie didn’t dare be careless and seized the time to launch a fierce assault.
Light flashed as the golden spear collided with the brownish tentacles.
Dull thuds echoed through the forest as the two sides fought intensely.
Suddenly, taking advantage of her distraction, the monster abruptly thrust a tentacle out from underground. The tentacle wrapped around Millie’s ankle. Millie failed to react in time and lost her balance.
She didn’t fall to the ground; instead, the monster hoisted her into the air.
“Let… let me go! —”
Millie struggled constantly as she was lifted upside down.
Her head felt dizzy, but she still gripped her weapon tightly.
The monster’s body trembled as if it were mocking Millie. Then, tentacles gathered from all directions, heading toward Millie’s private areas.
Millie’s face turned bright red.
‘As expected, these kinds of monsters love attacking girls!’
Suddenly, a heavy *thud* rang out.
Not only the monster, but even Millie was stunned.
“Oh right, I’m wearing metal inner armor!”
According to the logic of adult manga, her clothes should have been shredded and she should have been toyed with in various ways. But the first step hadn’t even been achieved because her inner armor was made of mithril!
Taking advantage of the monster’s momentary daze, Millie severed the tentacle holding her.
She adjusted her posture in mid-air.
However, before she could land back on the grass, she saw the tentacles attacking again. This time, they weren’t aimed at her private parts but directly at Millie’s head.
It seemed the monster no longer wanted to play with her.
It simply wanted to pierce her head with its tentacles.
“Oh no, this position…”
She couldn’t adjust her posture while falling from the air.
Millie could only exert every ounce of her strength to use the artificial artifact to block her face.
This wouldn’t be fatal, but she would certainly be seriously injured. It made Millie feel sad that there was no “big sister” to protect her at a time like this.
‘If only Sister Philousa were still here.’
‘Even if she isn’t good at attacking, she could still fight by my side.’
“Ugh, Sister Philousa…”
She couldn’t help but call out the other woman’s name.
“Sister Philousa, please come help me!”
She didn’t have much hope; it was just a desperate, lung-bursting scream.
However, a golden shield appeared in front of her.
The tentacles struck but could not break through the defense. Although cracks appeared on the golden shield and it soon shattered into pieces, it was enough.
In that opening, Millie landed back on the ground.
She adjusted her stance and threw the artificial artifact in her hand.
“Go to hell, you damned Demon God!”
A flash of golden light followed as the Eternal Spear pierced through the Demon God, Sitia.
“Gaaahhhhh! —”
The Demon God’s entire body trembled. A large hole appeared in its chest, and blood gushed from the wound. To Millie’s surprise, the blood was actually red.
Millie ignored it and looked back.
She saw a woman in a white holy robe standing proudly under the moonlight.
Millie froze for a moment, and then a smile bloomed on her face.
“Sister Philousa! —”
It really was Philousa. She reached out toward Millie, maintaining her spellcasting posture. She opened her mouth, looking at the situation on the battlefield with trepidation.
“Millie, are you alright?”
“I’m fine…”
Only then did Millie remember. Why was she being so uncharacteristically affectionate? Why did she call her “Sister Philousa”? Calling her “Sister” was just too embarrassing, wasn’t it?
So, Millie swapped her expression for a cold one.
“Philousa, what took you so long?”
