At the same time, in City A’s Bishui Lianhai Amusement Park, a large group of Official Personnel were holding devices, nervously conducting large-scale inspections of various objects throughout the park.
At the entrance of the amusement park, dozens of Reporters pointed their cameras at the entrance, standing to the side and providing commentary.
“I’m currently standing at the entrance of Bishui Lianhai Amusement Park. As you can see, banners have already been put up at the entrance, and there are a large number of Security Guards on duty.”
“And inside the amusement park, many Staff Members are holding devices, step by step checking for possible explosives, to prevent a repeat of the Bombing Case that happened at the zoo two days ago.”
“According to what we know, in order to handle possible Bombs in the amusement park, City A has specially brought in the country’s top Bomb Disposal Experts to assist.”
“I sincerely hope that the hardworking Staff Members can quickly find the explosive device, so as to prevent casualties and economic loss at the amusement park.”
After explaining the current situation, the Reporter looked anxiously into the interior of the amusement park.
Although he didn’t know exactly how dangerous this Bombing Case could be, seeing the scale of the Official response, he had a general sense of what to expect in his heart.
He silently prayed, hoping the authorities could quickly resolve this Bombing Case.
If the Bomb couldn’t be found and safely removed before it exploded, at the very least, casualties must be avoided.
That’s what this Reporter was thinking.
Meanwhile, inside the amusement park, two girls dressed in strange costumes were strolling leisurely, glancing around at every corner of the park.
They were none other than Sapphire and Meteor.
Every so often, a Staff Member would look up at them, then lower their head and resume working, as if they had long since gotten used to the presence of these two girls.
“Hey, Sapphire. Where do you think that guy might plant the Bomb this time? Could he be tricking us, and planning to blow up the Ferris Wheel instead? If you ask me, the Ferris Wheel exploding would be much more spectacular.”
Meteor looked curiously at the busy Staff Members nearby and asked Sapphire.
“No, since the other party wants to incite panic, he’ll definitely pick the place he already announced beforehand. Only by keeping his word can he make the people of City A feel that the Magic Girls are powerless against him.”
Sapphire shook her head, surveying the various attractions in the amusement park as she replied.
This was the first time Sapphire had ever come to a place like an amusement park, and also her first time seeing so many interesting rides.
She unconsciously focused her attention on the various attractions, picking out suitable targets, planning to come back another time to try out the rides here.
“Oh… That actually makes sense. If it were me, I’d do the same.”
“It’s just like in that animated show White-Clad Phantom Thief that I watched: first, you choose a suitable target and send a Notice Letter to the museum, then you sneak in and steal the treasure, and finally you ride a glider away in style.”
Meteor instantly understood Sapphire’s point and offered an example.
After hearing Meteor’s words, Sapphire paused, unsure if she should continue the conversation along Meteor’s topic.
She hadn’t watched White-Clad Phantom Thief at all, and had no idea what the show was about.
Forget it, better to change the subject.
“Besides, what’s more important is that this Shadow Beast obviously looks down on humans. Neither of its Notice Letters showed even a shred of respect.”
Sapphire said, “For that reason alone, it’ll arrogantly destroy the target it picked in advance.”
“I see. But then, why did it choose these two places?” Meteor nodded, then asked, “There are so many places to bomb in City A—why pick the zoo and the amusement park?”
Hearing Meteor’s question, Sapphire fell silent.
She lowered her head, starting to think about the commonality between the three targets the other party had selected, analyzing the specific reason.
After a moment’s thought, Sapphire arrived at the answer.
“It’s because these two places are City A’s most famous family-friendly entertainment venues. Whether you’re old or young, you can come here.” Sapphire looked up at Meteor.
“He wants to make it so that even when the citizens are out having fun, they can’t fully relax—they have to be on guard for the possibility of an explosion.”
“…That’s really a twisted way of thinking.”
After hearing Sapphire’s analysis, Meteor was a bit shocked. She hadn’t expected this Shadow Beast to target City A’s citizens on such a psychological level.
“No matter what it thinks, it won’t achieve its ultimate goal.” Sapphire looked over at the Bumper Car Attraction where a crowd had gathered. “Because we’ve already seen through its plan.”
“That’s true. Should we go take a look at the bumper cars?” Meteor suggested.
“Mm, let’s go.”
Sapphire nodded, and followed Meteor over to the area near the bumper cars.
The security guards waiting for orders nearby immediately made way for the two of them, letting them enter the site.
On the smooth and polished ground, several burly security team members were wearing Protective Suits, carefully checking every corner of the area.
Even though some spots had already been checked thousands of times, they were still investigating over and over, unwilling to give up.
Sapphire looked at the stopped rides, scanned the area for a while, and noticed that there was nothing special about the floor, the bumper cars, or even the surrounding walls.
There wasn’t a single hint of magic energy.
“Huh? What’s this…?”
Just as Sapphire was about to leave, Meteor, who was floating above the floor, seemed to have noticed something strange and made an odd sound.
Sapphire quickly looked around, and, confirming that this wasn’t a good place to talk, whispered to Meteor.
“Don’t say it here. Let’s find somewhere private.”
“Mm.”
Meteor glanced around, understood Sapphire’s meaning, and floated off with Sapphire away from the bumper car area.
They only stopped when they reached the deserted water slide.
“Alright, tell me—what did you find back there?” Sapphire asked.
“Hmm… I found a heat source inside one of the bumper cars.” Meteor began, which was not what Sapphire had expected to hear.
After hearing this, Sapphire was both surprised and delighted, not expecting Meteor to actually discover the Bomb planted by the Shadow Beast.
But a second later, Sapphire thought of something strange and asked Meteor,
“If there’s a heat source inside the bumper car, then why didn’t the Staff Members detect it?”
“Well… Actually, at first, I didn’t notice the heat source either. But when I looked really closely into the body of the bumper car for the second time, I noticed a tiny, tiny Seed inside.”
“A Seed?” Sapphire asked, confused.
“Yes, that Seed is wrapped in a thin layer of magic energy, preventing the heat inside from escaping. If I didn’t have something like X-ray Vision, I probably wouldn’t have found it either.”
Meteor explained to Sapphire with a smile.
