Su Chun was pressed down in front of the dressing table by several maidservants.
Looking at the face in the mirror that was both familiar and strange, she felt a complex whirlwind of emotions.
It had been less than six months, and yet all of this had happened.
‘Whatever. Although this Female Devil acts like a total lunatic, there might be an opportunity here. I’ll feign submission for now. At the very least, I need to get this Female Devil to undo the seal on the power inside my body. Besides, looking at her, she probably wants to control me to trade for a chance to leave this world.’
However, she still felt extremely stifled.
After all, she had been powerful for over six months and possessed the Primal Chaos Body.
To think she would be forced by a Female Devil to become some Saintess in a place with such thin spiritual energy like the Sky-Prison Realm.
“Saintess, please change your clothes,” the leading maidservant said respectfully, holding the set of Moonlight Treasure Clothes in her hands.
Su Chun looked at the outfit and felt a massive headache coming on.
The clothing was entirely moon-white, embroidered with intricate silver patterns.
It looked extraordinarily magnificent, yet it also carried an indescribable sense of eeriness.
In particular, the design of the collar and cuffs was both sexy and suggestive.
At a glance, it did not look like something a proper woman would wear.
However, her skin had grown thick by now.
She was no longer the same person she was six months ago.
“I’ll do it myself.”
Su Chun pushed the maidservant’s hand away.
The maidservants exchanged looks but did not dare to insist.
They silently retreated to the side.
Su Chun picked up the Moonlight Treasure Clothes.
After a moment of hesitation, she reluctantly put them on.
The clothes could adjust their own size.
Once worn, they felt like a layer of skin, fitting her perfectly as if they were tailor-made for her.
The cool sensation against her skin made her shiver, making her feel as though she were wearing nothing at all.
As for her hair, she could only let them handle it.
Several maidservants worked quickly, soon giving Su Chun a hairstyle that was dignified yet not overly mature, accessorized with gold, silver, and sparkling gems.
Once everything was finished, a silver-haired beauty who exuded charm yet possessed a sacred aura was born.
“Saintess, you are truly beautiful.”
The maidservants on the side were involuntarily drawn in by the aura Su Chun emitted.
One maidservant with particularly weak willpower even reached out instinctively to touch Su Chun’s shoulder.
Su Chun immediately glared at her, causing the maidservant to quickly pull her hand back.
Looking at herself in the mirror, her silver hair cascaded down like a waterfall.
Against the backdrop of the Moonlight Treasure Clothes, her heterochromatic eyes looked even more mysterious and demonic.
She had to admit that this set of clothes did indeed enhance her appearance.
“Hey, my cheap master, are you sure this is the look for a Saintess? I feel like this isn’t very proper. I’m starting to suspect more and more that your Taiyi Sect is a cult. Does this Saintess have to perform some… shady tasks?”
Su Chun looked at the different version of herself in the mirror and glanced with a hint of shame at Jiang Ruoyin, who had been staring straight at her.
“Oh? You actually noticed? That’s right. The Saintess of our Taiyi Sect is tasked with pleasing the Taiyi God. If you aren’t dressed beautifully and enticingly, how can you gain the favor of a god?”
Jiang Ruoyin replied with a playful look.
Su Chun’s face instantly flushed red, then turned dark.
“A cult. This is definitely a cult.”
“Stop glaring. You came to this realm to seek opportunities. Coming to our Taiyi Sect might just be your lucky break. Let’s go. It is time to meet the followers of the Taiyi Sect,” Jiang Ruoyin beckoned.
Su Chun let out a cold snort and stood up.
Even these shoes weren’t proper.
They were similar to high heels with a high back, though not exactly like the ones from her previous world.
She wasn’t quite used to them, but the shoes did have one advantage — they made her significantly taller.
When she followed Jiang Ruoyin out of the sleeping quarters, she discovered a massive square outside.
The square was densely packed with cultivators of the Taiyi Sect.
They were dressed in black or white Daoist robes according to their status.
Their expressions were solemn, and their eyes burned with fanatical faith.
In the center of the square stood a giant statue.
The face of the person on the statue was unclear, and their gender was indistinguishable.
Only a blurry silhouette could be seen, but the statue emitted a mysterious and majestic aura.
Su Chun immediately scanned the statue with her Chaos Eye and was instantly startled.
‘A divine statue is actually able to connect with the Heavenly Dao and emit the scent of the Light of the Great Dao?’
Su Chun suddenly realized that the Taiyi Sect was far from simple.
Even their Tantai Family did not have such a situation.
“What is that?”
Su Chun pointed at the statue and asked.
“That is the Taiyi God, whom we worship.”
A hint of fanaticism appeared in Jiang Ruoyin’s eyes.
“The Taiyi God is the origin of the Great Dao and the ruler of all things. By believing in the Taiyi God, one can obtain eternal life.”
Su Chun’s mouth twitched.
“Eternal life? How can there be eternal life in this world? Even a world has a day where it will be destroyed.”
“You don’t understand yet.”
Jiang Ruoyin shook her head.
“The Taiyi God’s power is infinite. As long as we believe in Him with sincerity, He will grant us blessings. You might not know this, but the heritage of our Taiyi Sect is extremely ancient. Legend has it that it was founded at the beginning of the Immortal Ancient Era.”
Su Chun couldn’t stop rolling her eyes.
‘The early Immortal Ancient Era is a completely unknown age. As an Immortal Aristocratic Family, the information the Tantai Family has regarding the Immortal Ancient Era only goes back to the late period at most, and even that is ancient enough.’
Looking at the fanatical cultivators on the square, a sense of unease rose in her heart.
She felt more and more like she was being set up.
“The Saintess has arrived!”
Following a loud shout, the cultivators on the square turned around one after another to look at Su Chun.
When they saw her, an even more fanatical light erupted from their eyes.
The crowd, regardless of gender or age, knelt down without hesitation.
They performed a grand salute toward Su Chun.
“Saintess! Saintess!”
They shouted frantically, as if they were looking at a savior.
‘What the hell! If this isn’t a cult, what is?’
Su Chun was startled by the display and instinctively took a step back.
“Don’t be afraid. They simply worship you. From this day forward, you are their spiritual leader, the spokesperson of God in the human world.”
Jiang Ruoyin patted Su Chun’s shoulder.
“I—”
Su Chun wanted to say something, but Jiang Ruoyin interrupted her.
“Come with me.”
Jiang Ruoyin pulled Su Chun along and walked to the high platform in the center of the square.
“Everyone, starting today, we welcome the new Saintess of our Taiyi Sect! The Saintess is the messenger sent by the Taiyi God. She will lead us toward the light and toward eternal life!”
Jiang Ruoyin spoke in a loud voice.
“Long live the Saintess! Long live the Taiyi God!”
The cultivators cheered wildly.
They knelt on the ground, performing three bows and nine kowtows toward Su Chun.
Su Chun watched the scene before her, her scalp tingling with numbness.
“Everyone, rise,” Jiang Ruoyin signaled for the crowd to stand up.
“From today onward, the Saintess will reside in the Divine Palace to communicate with our God. she shall lead us to reach the realm of eternal life as soon as possible.”
“Saintess! Saintess!”
The cultivators grew even more excited.
As they cheered, a large amount of golden energy drifted from their bodies and was absorbed by the divine statue in front of them.
‘Damn it, the statue seems to be absorbing some kind of power from them.’
Su Chun became increasingly uneasy because this situation exceeded her understanding.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you to see the sacred grounds of our Taiyi Sect.”
Jiang Ruoyin pulled Su Chun and walked toward the back of the square.
