In the guest room in the early hours of the morning, Su Mengdie lay prone on the plush velvet bed, burying her head in the soft pillow while letting out occasional moans of surrender.
What had she done wrong?
She just wanted to sleep.
Yet, only a few minutes prior, the Eldest Miss—showing no consideration whatsoever—had launched a tempestuous “bullying” session upon her, draining what little physical strength she had left.
“Eldest Miss, please spare me… I just want to sleep~”
Su Mengdie’s eyes brimmed with tears, her face matted with golden curls damp from perspiration.
Her clothes were disheveled, leaving her looking as wretched as could be.
“So you know how to beg for mercy now? Weren’t you struggling quite fiercely just a moment ago!”
Penelope’s voice carried a hint of lingering resentment; she was clearly not entirely satisfied with such a plea.
After climbing off Su Mengdie, she pulled a wet wipe from the nightstand, wiped her hands, and tossed it in front of the girl.
“There~ wipe the sweat off your face first, then think carefully about how to beg me… If you do a good job, I’ll let you sleep.”
“Eldest Miss, this wipe…”
Looking at the wet wipe, Su Mengdie frowned slightly.
If she didn’t know what the Eldest Miss had just been doing, she would have used it directly.
The problem was, she did know what had just happened…
How was she supposed to use this?
However, Penelope acted as if she didn’t understand the implication, promptly offering an alternative proposal.
“Is something wrong with the wipe? Or would you prefer I lick you clean myself?”
As she spoke, she licked her lips expectantly and leaned in again, scaring Su Mengdie into snatching the wipe immediately.
“No, I didn’t mean that! I’m wiping, I’m wiping…”
The Eldest Miss is getting more and more perverted!
Despite the resentment bubbling in her heart, Su Mengdie didn’t want to see the Eldest Miss do that kind of thing with her own body, nor did she want to face retaliation later.
She had no choice but to endure.
Holding the wipe with a look of pure disdain, she dabbed it gingerly over the tracks of her sweat.
The spots touched by the wipe felt chilly, carrying a faint, peculiar fragrance.
“There, is that enough…”
Having finished wiping her face, Su Mengdie tossed it into the bedside trash can without a second thought, fearing the Eldest Miss might demand even more deviant behavior.
“Mhm~ and what else?”
Penelope watched her with a playful, mocking smile, appearing quite eager for what came next.
This is really getting out of hand…
Her current life as the “Eldest Miss’s favorite” was somehow worse than when she was just a maid!
Biting her lip, Su Mengdie gripped the hem of her nightgown, her body trembling slightly as she lay back down.
After she uttered a series of humiliating pleas for mercy, Penelope finally nodded in satisfaction.
“Not bad, not bad. As expected of my little Die. You can sleep a while longer then; I’ll put in a word with the Head Maid for you.”
“Thank you, Eldest Miss…”
Phew!
Finally, I can sleep…
After the Eldest Miss’s morning ordeal, Su Mengdie was truly exhausted.
The moment her head hit the pillow, she began to snore.
“Little Die sure falls asleep fast. Well, that’s for the best.”
Penelope poked Su Mengdie’s soft, bouncy cheek.
After confirming she wouldn’t wake up, she felt much more at ease.
She first sent a message to the Head Maid, fabricating a plausible excuse for Su Mengdie, then logged into her “Owl” account to speak with Qin Qixin about the “Swallowtail” matter.
Just as she was expecting Qin Qixin to bring good news, the other party flatly refused after hearing the request.
“Sorry, can’t do it. Find someone else!”
“Huh? Who else am I supposed to go to for intel? Are you looking to quit?”
Even if she wanted to quit, she’s doing the work!
Even if Qin Qixin fled to the ends of the earth, Penelope would catch her back at any cost.
“What do you mean ‘wanting to quit’? You guys never ask for our opinion; all you do is make us search, search, search. Do you have any idea how much work I have piled up here!”
“Go stay wherever it’s cool; I still have to work for the Boss…”
Qin Qixin’s typing was lightning-fast, quickly pushing Penelope’s previous message out of the chat box.
It was obvious she was harboring a massive amount of resentment.
But what did resentment have to do with Penelope?
“Fine, whatever. I’ve told you what I need; do it or don’t.”
After sending this final message, Penelope employed the same “Stealth: Log Off” technique as Qin Qixin.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the screen, Qin Qixin was so frantic she spent a good moment cursing Penelope’s mother, completely forgetting what a powerful existence the woman was.
Then, she suddenly felt a bone-chilling cold, scaring her into immediately kowtowing and apologizing toward an unknown direction.
When Lu Wei walked in holding fried chicken in one hand and an iced cola in the other, she happened upon this eerie scene—
Qin Qixin was kowtowing to a blank wall, repeatedly saying “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Someone who didn’t know better would think she had seen a ghost.
“Caroline, what are you doing?”
“Gah! Are you a ghost? You didn’t make a sound coming in!”
Having suffered two shocks in a row, Qin Qixin felt her heart was about to leap out of her chest.
“I made sound! Listen…”
With that, Lu Wei took a sip of her cola and walked a few steps in her mid-heeled shoes, making a distinct click-clack sound.
“You were obviously just too focused. So, seriously, what are you doing?”
“Sigh… I was just angered by that ‘Canary,’ and I accidentally offended that Lady.”
Qin Qixin brushed the dust off her pants and leaned her head on her hand, sighing deeply.
That Lady is so refined, powerful, and beautiful… so how did the Eldest Miss turn out so… indescribable?
“Well, it was an accident. The Lady will forgive you. Besides, she isn’t even in this world right now; how would she know what you said?”
Sitting down beside Qin Qixin, Lu Wei naturally used a tissue to grab a fried chicken drumstick and handed it to her.
Although Lu Wei was usually carefree and unrefined, she knew that because Qin Qixin had to stay in “work mode,” she didn’t like touching greasy things directly with her hands.
“Hmph! That’s hard to say. Just now, I felt a sudden, intense surge of murderous intent. There’s no doubt it radiated from that Lady!”
Qin Qixin didn’t stand on ceremony, taking the drumstick and biting into it.
She was truly starving.
Since yesterday, in order to investigate the disappearances within the organization, she had been sitting in this database for thirty consecutive hours, relying entirely on Lu Wei for food, drink, and sleep.
“Setting the Lady aside for now, do you have results?”
“Mmm-ph-mmm (Obviously not).”
Qin Qixin’s mouth was so full of chicken she couldn’t speak clearly.
But Lu Wei understood anyway, smiling as she handed over another drumstick.
“Then it really is a bit difficult… Eat slowly, it’s all yours. No one’s going to steal it from you.”
“Mhm~ By the way, where’s Violet? Didn’t the Boss say she was sent to help the Canary catch Swallowtail? Why is the Canary so idle?”
In Qin Qixin’s view, she was more than just “idle.”
Clearly, the Canary could just cause some trouble outside to lure the person out, yet she kept asking for help with investigations every few days.
Why make it so complicated?
Seeing Qin Qixin’s headache-inducing situation, Lu Wei stepped behind her and began massaging her shoulders.
“I don’t know if the Canary is idle, but Violet is definitely over there. There might be some movement soon.”
“I hope she hurries up, otherwise I’m going to go crazy… Yes, right there, hiss~ gentler!”
