Sylvia had no idea she had once again been severely misunderstood.
She just wanted to get this awkward banquet over with as soon as possible.
“Um…”
She spoke softly.
“It’s getting late.”
“I’d like to go back to my room and rest…”
“Of course!”
Uther VII immediately stood up.
“Your Highness’s health is the most important.”
“If you feel tired, then this banquet shall end here.”
“Your peace comes before all else.”
His reaction was so quick it surprised Sylvia.
“What’s gotten into this old man all of a sudden?”
But no matter what, ending early was always a good thing.
“Then we shall take our leave.”
Ophelia said calmly.
She stood up.
The False God-Level Pressure enveloped the entire hall once again.
No one dared to move an inch.
Only after the Blood Clan and their entourage left the banquet hall did the Human Leadership dare to breathe heavily.
The moment Sylvia returned to her room, she collapsed onto the bed.
“Finally over.”
She buried her face in the soft pillow.
Her voice muffled.
“I almost died in that banquet hall.”
Avira followed in and casually closed the door behind her.
“Sis, you did well today.”
Avira sat beside the bed.
She reached out and poked Sylvia’s nape.
“Although you looked scared, you didn’t show weakness.”
“Scared?”
Sylvia lifted her head from the pillow.
Her silver hair messily stuck to her cheek.
“I was nearly terrified, okay?”
“The looks they gave were too eerie.”
She turned over and lay on her back.
“Especially that Pope.”
“His gaze was like he was looking at some rare treasure.”
“Gave me goosebumps.”
Avira reached out to tidy Sylvia’s slightly disheveled silver hair.
“Definitely unpleasant.”
Avira nodded in agreement, a dangerous glint flashing in her eyes.
“Want me to find a chance tomorrow to kill them all?”
“No!”
Sylvia sat up in fright and grabbed Avira’s hand.
“Sis, can you not think about killing people every time?”
“But they looked at you like that.”
“I don’t like it.”
Avira’s tone was full of obvious dissatisfaction.
“That old man even gave you a Sacred Bone as a gift.”
“That’s basically an insult.”
Sylvia looked helplessly at her sister.
This crazy sister’s protective instincts had reached a pathological level.
“Sis, have you ever thought that maybe we’re overthinking it?”
“What do you mean?”
Avira blinked her crimson eyes.
“I mean, maybe they really just wanted to show goodwill?”
Sylvia tried to look at it from another angle.
“Although the way was strange.”
“But the intention might have been good.”
Avira blinked, her expression somewhat puzzled.
“Little sister, you’re not brainwashed by them, are you?”
“No, no.”
Sylvia quickly waved her hand.
“I just think that if we’re always fighting and killing…”
“Mother wouldn’t be happy.”
Avira’s expression grew serious at this.
“You’re right.”
She nodded.
“I’ll hold back then.”
“But if anyone dares to be rude to you…”
“I’ll still cut them down.”
Sylvia breathed a sigh of relief.
At least her sister wouldn’t go on a killing spree for no reason.
“By the way, sis.”
Avira suddenly remembered something.
“Any plans for tomorrow?”
“Don’t know.”
Sylvia shook her head.
“Someone should notify us.”
“Hope it’s not too tiring.”
Avira stood up, ready to leave.
“Get some rest early.”
She went to the door.
“If anything happens, call me.”
“Wait.”
Sylvia called after her.
“Sis, where are you sleeping tonight?”
“Next door.”
Avira pointed to the wall.
“Our rooms are adjacent.”
“Well…”
Sylvia hesitated, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Sis, do you want to sleep together?”
Avira was momentarily stunned.
Then a delighted expression spread across her face.
“You want to sleep with me?”
“Yes…”
Sylvia’s voice got even quieter.
“In such a strange place, sleeping alone feels uneasy.”
“Sure, sure!”
Avira excitedly ran back.
Her eyes shone with fanatic light.
“I want to sleep with you too.”
“When we were in the Empire, you always said you wanted to sleep alone.”
Sylvia blushed slightly.
“That was at home, where it felt safer.”
She defended herself.
“This is, after all, enemy territory.”
“Enemy?”
Avira blinked.
“But didn’t you say they might have goodwill?”
“Goodwill or not, you still have to be on guard.”
Sylvia said with righteous conviction.
In truth, she just simply wanted to sleep next to her sister.
In such a high-pressure environment, having family nearby was very reassuring.
Avira happily took off her coat.
She jumped onto the bed.
“Your bed is so soft.”
She bounced twice on the mattress.
“Much comfier than my room.”
“Stop bouncing, it might collapse.”
Sylvia grabbed her.
“Hurry and lie down.”
They lay side by side on the bed.
Avira reached out and hugged Sylvia.
“You smell so nice.”
Avira buried her face in Sylvia’s silver hair.
Inhaling greedily.
“What scent is that?”
“Maybe some kind of floral perfume.”
Sylvia let her sister hold her.
She was used to Avira’s closeness.
“You have a scent too.”
“Mine’s the smell of blood.”
Avira smiled.
“Different from yours.”
“It’s not a blood smell.”
Sylvia said seriously.
“It’s a very pleasant floral scent.”
Avira looked a little surprised.
“Do you really think I smell like flowers?”
“Of course.”
Sylvia nodded.
“Even though you always say you smell like blood.”
“I’ve never smelled it.”
“In my perception, you’ve always had a warm floral fragrance.”
Avira’s eyes flickered with a complicated emotion upon hearing this.
“You’re so sweet.”
She said softly.
“You always say things that make me happy.”
“I’m telling the truth.”
Sylvia turned to face her.
“You’ve always been the most wonderful presence in my heart.”
Avira’s expression softened.
The usual madness vanished completely.
“So, will you always stay with me?”
“Of course.”
Sylvia nodded without hesitation.
“We’re sisters; we’ll always be together.”
Avira smiled in satisfaction.
“That’s good.”
She closed her eyes.
“With you by my side, I feel like I don’t have to fear anything.”
Sylvia watched her sister’s peaceful sleeping face.
A warm current welled up inside her.
Though Avira usually acted crazy and scary, she always showed her softest side in front of Sylvia.
This feeling of unconditional protection and love made Sylvia feel very happy.
“Good night, sis.”
Sylvia said softly.
“Good night, little sister.”
Avira replied.
