“Wei Ya, where should I put this box?”
Loweia held a cardboard box and asked Bai Yu, who was tidying up other boxes.
Hearing this, Bai Yu turned her head to glance at the box in Loweia’s hands and pointed to a corner of the living room.
“Put it over there for now. It’s full of miscellaneous stuff.”
“Okay.”
Loweia carried the box to the spot Bai Yu indicated.
After setting it down, she leaned against the wall and caught her breath for a moment.
She had thought her body had mostly recovered.
But it turned out that just helping Bai Yu move a few boxes was enough to make her lean against the wall, panting.
In contrast, Bai Yu showed no signs of fatigue at all.
‘If things go on like this, when will I ever fully recover? When will I be able to become a real help to Bai Yu?’
“Tired? If you’re tired, Wei Ya, you can rest for a while. It’s still early; there’s no need to rush.”
Not long after they had assigned the rooms earlier, Bai Yu received a call from the moving truck driver.
He had arrived downstairs at the apartment building, waiting for them to come down and move their things.
The driver helped them carry everything to the hallway before leaving.
Fortunately, they didn’t have too much stuff, and the apartment building had an elevator.
After spending some time, the two of them successfully transported all their luggage to the eighth floor.
After that, with a bit more effort, they moved everything out of the elevator area and brought it into their new home.
Looking at the various large and small bags scattered across the living room, Bai Yu couldn’t help but sigh.
‘We just finished packing everything this morning, and now we have to unpack and organize it all over again.’
‘If only I had a space-type Ability. Then I wouldn’t need to pack properly; I could just shove everything into a storage space. Then, when I arrived at the destination, I could take it all out again.’
‘That would save the entire packing process. Plus, I wouldn’t need to expend effort moving things or spend money on movers. It would be incredibly convenient.’
Unfortunately, Bai Yu had a precognition-type ability.
As for Loweia, that girl was all about raw stats, relying on brute force.
When it came to intricate mechanics, they were completely overshadowed by absolute power.
After moving everything inside, the next step was to organize it all again.
Bai Yu first sorted out all the miscellaneous items, planning to find a temporary place for them to deal with later.
Just then, Loweia stepped forward, wanting to help.
Bai Yu readily agreed to her request.
However, after moving just a few boxes, Loweia was already leaning against the wall, panting.
It seemed the damage to her body from that desperate final attack she unleashed was even more severe than Bai Yu had anticipated.
‘No wonder when I found Loweia, her breathing was so faint it was almost imperceptible. If I hadn’t played through Star Song and knew part of the plot, I would have truly thought Loweia was dead at that time.’
But for Bai Yu, this was actually a good thing.
After all, choosing to bring Loweia back was a gamble on the future.
Currently, she didn’t need Loweia to protect her.
The real time to cling to someone’s coattails would be when the [Star Ring Field] failed and Abnormal Entities began invading on a large scale.
By then, without the qualifications to enter Eden, she would have no choice but to hold tightly to Loweia’s leg.
Therefore, even if Loweia didn’t recover her abilities until the very moment before the outbreak, Bai Yu wouldn’t need to worry.
As long as Loweia regained enough power to ensure their survival before that moment arrived, it would be fine.
If she recovered now, there was a risk of exposing her identity.
Moreover, it would be inconvenient for Bai Yu to continue applying pressure and increasing the sense of debt in Loweia’s heart.
If the accumulated debt wasn’t enough, the impact wouldn’t be as strong when Bai Yu eventually revealed her true strength, making Loweia realize that Bai Yu had actually been desperately protecting her all along.
So, the slower Loweia recovered, the better.
If Loweia weren’t weak right now, when would Bai Yu ever get the chance to protect her, increase her Favorability, apply pressure, and deepen that sense of indebtedness?
Seeing Loweia shake her head at her words, stubbornly wanting to continue helping, a gentle smile curved Bai Yu’s lips.
“It’s really okay. If you’re tired, Wei Ya, rest first. There’s plenty of time. Besides, I need to take stock of the remaining items and sort them out now. There’s nothing that needs help at the moment.”
“I understand.”
Even so, Loweia came over to Bai Yu and began helping her sort through the remaining things.
Before long, the two of them finished taking stock of the remaining items and also sorted out their own belongings.
“Alright, let’s start by tidying up our own rooms now.”
Loweia nodded, picked up her own box, and returned to the small room.
As for Bai Yu, she dragged her numerous bags into the double room.
Compared to Loweia’s few things, she had an overwhelming amount.
After all, her sister’s belongings were all with her too, so having a lot was normal.
After returning to her room, putting away her clothes in the wardrobe, Bai Yu pulled out her phone and checked the date.
It was already the 24th, almost the end of the month.
Her younger sister, who was in her first year of high school at a school in Central City, would soon be on her monthly break.
In the past, during these breaks, she would always rush back to the rented room in the Old Urban District, throw herself into Bai Yu’s arms, and cling to her, saying things like “Sis, I missed you so much.”
‘What a clingy little sister.’
‘Oh right, I need to tell her we’ve moved. Otherwise, when her break comes, that silly girl will definitely run to the Old Urban District. When she finds out I’ve moved, she’ll surely call me, complaining in a pitiful voice about how her mean older sister moved without telling her first, making her come all the way for nothing.’
Thinking this, Bai Yu found the chat window labeled “Dummy Little Sister” and told her about the move, including the new address, apartment number, and all the details.
‘When that girl comes back on break and sees such a nice new apartment, she’ll probably jump for joy. But there’s another troublesome matter: how to explain Loweia to her.’
After all, if her older sister suddenly brought a stranger home without her knowing, the little one might have some objections.
Also, it was uncertain whether Loweia and that girl would get along normally.
If they got along well, it would be fine.
But if they didn’t, Bai Yu, caught in the middle, would have a headache.
Just then, Bai Yu heard Loweia’s voice from behind her.
“Bai Yu, I’m finished tidying my room. Do you need help here?”
Given how little she had, it was expected she’d finish quickly.
Looking at the large and small bags still at her feet, Bai Yu had no reason to refuse her offer.
“Then I’ll trouble you, Wei Ya.”
“Mhm, mhm.”
Hearing that Bai Yu needed her help, Loweia immediately made a happy sound.
And so, after spending a bit more time, they finally finished tidying Bai Yu’s room.
After resting briefly, they continued with the last remaining items in the living room.
Once all the luggage was finally put away, Bai Yu checked the time.
It was about time to eat.
With no groceries to cook today, she could only take Loweia out for a meal.
“Wei Ya, are you hungry now?”
“A little.”
“Alright, let’s go out to eat.”
After leaving the apartment building, Bai Yu looked for the nearest restaurant.
As they passed by a mobile phone store, Bai Yu stopped.
Remembering she would leave Loweia alone at home tomorrow, she thought, ‘If something unexpected happens and she can’t contact me, that would be troublesome. I should definitely get her a phone.’
With that in mind, Bai Yu led Loweia into the phone store.
“Wei Ya, which model do you like?”
