Huang Xiaoyi’s heart surged like stormy waves, yet her face remained calm and indifferent. But Xiye, after all, was a veteran investigator who had seen her share of battlefields — with just one glance, she could tell this old thing… this little old thing was definitely up to no good.
Usually acting all aloof and frigid, but inside she was repressing who-knows-how-much. Xiye had seen plenty of people like this.
Of course, Xiye didn’t have mind-reading powers. She only knew the blonde girl was plotting something bad. So she shrank back a little, nervously fiddling with her fingers, and cautiously asked:
“Um… so… now you can believe me, right? Can I leave now?”
Hearing her words, Huang Xiaoyi snapped back to reality. Her gaze carried a scrutinizing weight that made the little cherry dragon wish she could just burrow straight into the tentacle chair… wait, wouldn’t that be walking right into the trap?
Huang Xiaoyi took in every bit of Snow Pear’s frightened appearance. Fear like that couldn’t be faked.
She tilted her head slightly, feeling a little puzzled.
She hadn’t really done anything that terrible, so why was the girl so scared of her?
Recalling what the girl had said earlier, and the way she reacted when her head was petted, combined with her own deductions, Huang Xiaoyi narrowed her eyes.
…Sure enough, it was probably that woman Xiye who had left too deep an impression on Snow Pear. Even though she was in a safe environment now, as long as traces of that woman remained, she would feel uneasy.
To turn Snow Pear into useful material as quickly as possible, why not take this chance, right here, to erase that woman’s influence bit by bit?
Conveniently, the earlier comforting hadn’t been enough to satisfy her either…
The more Huang Xiaoyi thought about it, the more reasonable it seemed. Desire rose in her heart, malice surged along with her courage. Without hesitation, she commanded the tentacles to wrap around Snow Pear’s slender, almost fragile limbs and tossed her onto the sunlit desk.
“Eek!?”
The girl let out a sharp yelp.
She hadn’t held back at all this time — Xiye’s head slammed against the tabletop with a dull “thunk”.
Even though her head was ringing, Xiye still panicked from the sudden action. She had intended to struggle a bit, but then she thought better of it: the odds of her beating Huang Xiaoyi were probably something like ten-to-zero. Strangely, that realization calmed her down.
She didn’t even bother asking what Huang Xiaoyi planned to do to her anymore.
At this point, what else could it be? A game of chess?
Seeing her somewhat resigned attitude, Huang Xiaoyi frowned slightly. She planted both hands on the desk, climbed up onto it, and crawled along Snow Pear’s snow-white, straight legs until she was straddling the girl’s slender waist. Lowering her head, golden wheat-like strands of hair slid off her shoulders. A pleasant fragrance wafted over and enveloped the girl’s nose.
“Why aren’t you asking what I’m going to do to you?”
She reached out and toyed with the tips of the pink-haired girl’s hair with her fingertips.
Xiye turned her head away, refusing to look at her. Her tone was even a little defiant:
“If you’re going to do it, just do it already.”
A legendary investigator born of heaven and earth — how could she possibly languish forever beneath an evil god! Even if she died, she would die standing.
Years of hardship had convinced her she could resist any corruption from an evil god. Not even the Northern Dynasty could shake her will in the slightest.
“…Tch.”
Huang Xiaoyi felt a twinge of irritation. What was with this blatant provocation? She was clearly so weak it was pitiful — so why wasn’t she afraid? At a time like this, shouldn’t she be begging for mercy?
She wanted to see terror, pleading, tears on Snow Pear’s face. Otherwise it wouldn’t be interesting at all.
A faint green glow flickered in the depths of the evil god girl’s eyes. Something that had survived even being sealed and transformed was swelling infinitely inside her heart.
I really want to see what that stubborn expression looks like when it finally breaks. It’ll probably be incredibly… incredibly delicious.
Xiye closed her eyes:
“…Hmph. Get on with it!”
“As you wish.”
Huang Xiaoyi’s fingertips glided over Xiye’s shoulder. Even through the fabric, the light caress made the girl’s body stiffen for a moment.
The evil god girl caught every tiny reaction and felt extremely pleased. She gave a soft hum, leaned down, and pressed her lips close to Snow Pear’s ear, whispering:
“…What’s this? Acting like you don’t care at all, but you’re actually scared out of your mind, aren’t you?”
The warm, moist breath from between her lips brushed against Xiye’s ear, sending a shiver down her scalp. The petite body trembled lightly.
“No…!”
Everything was pitch black before her eyes. She protested in a small, stubborn voice squeezed out through gritted teeth.
“Oh really?”
“Then why…”
Huang Xiaoyi didn’t even notice the rather sinister smile spreading across her own face. She simply savored the pink flush on the girl’s ear tips, the crimson on her cheeks, the increasingly ragged warm breaths, and that last stubborn thread of denial she refused to admit.
“—is your face so red?”
The girl’s slender waist jerked violently once. The blonde was very satisfied with her material’s reaction. She released the tentacles that had been binding Snow Pear’s limbs. The moment they loosened, Snow Pear immediately covered her face with both hands. Her muffled voice leaked out from beneath her arms:
“…It’s just a physiological reaction!”
“Heh…”
What a feeble excuse.
The flushed little face hidden under those fair arms had already betrayed the girl’s true feelings.
Huang Xiaoyi licked her lips.
Even though it went completely against what she pursued, it really was quite a nice scene…
Her fingertip twirled lazily around the first brown button of the girl’s blouse. Just one gentle flick, and the button would slip free from its narrow buttonhole.
