“The earthquake has stopped?”
The shaking was intense and brief, lasting only about 10 minutes before settling down completely.
On the second basement level of the history hall, a sturdy mound of earth gradually crumbled, revealing Winnidith and the others hiding within.
Their clothes, hair, and faces were inevitably covered in dust, but fortunately, Winnidith had used magic early, so they remained unharmed.
The artifacts here were not so lucky.
They were already fragile from the passage of time, and after suffering such a calamity, they finally broke apart, turning into piles of rubble and losing forever the remnants of the ancient era.
The three of them emerged and quickly inspected the only exit, only to find it blocked by debris.
Arns stepped forward and pushed, but the stones did not budge.
It seemed they had no choice but to use magic to blast it open.
Arns took a step back, leaving the spot to Winnidith.
“Please help us blast the entrance open, thank you.”
Winnidith passed the task to the Mage who kept his eyes closed.
A 9th-tier Mage’s attack would surely be stronger than her own 7th-tier efforts, and he didn’t need to worry about mana consumption, so why not take it easy?
The Mage raised his palm, and the earth elements in the environment began to gather in his hand.
Winnidith was not sure what spell this was, but judging by the mana consumption, it should be a 7th-tier spell.
Winnidith stood in front of Isabella and erected a mana barrier with magic to ensure she wouldn’t be harmed by flying debris.
But just as the magic took form and the Mage was about to hurl the spear in his hand, she suddenly sensed a presence rapidly approaching—and the mana that person radiated was very familiar!
“Your Highness! Please be careful!”
Arns’ reaction was even faster; his Douqi enveloped him and Isabella in an instant.
“Wait! Don’t—”
Winnidith was a moment too late; the Mage’s attack had already been released.
With a roar no less intense than the earthquake from moments ago, the rocks, several meters tall, shattered upon impact.
It was unfortunate for the one approaching from that direction.
Not only did she suddenly feel a massive flow of mana, she was covered in dust from the exploding earth, and finally, she had to face an earth spear that had only slightly diminished in power.
Luckily, she reacted quickly enough to block the strike with the spear in her hands, though her momentum was forced to a halt.
“Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey! Why are there people here?!”
As the dust settled, Leah, covered in grime, looked up with an angry glare, only to be stunned to see that the attacker was none other than Winnidith.
The three of them were confused as to why she appeared here, but they could see the wounds on Leah clearly.
Someone was hunting her!
Leah quickly reacted to her current situation, feeling a sense of relief upon seeing the Mage standing next to Winnidith, and cried out for help.
“Uncle Iseril! Help me!!!”
The Mage remained unmoved.
Leah’s pupils contracted sharply.
In her memory, Iseril had always been the uncle who doted on her most, faithfully fulfilling any request she made.
But now, he actually ignored her call for help.
This was absolutely abnormal!
Who had controlled Uncle Iseril!
Leah’s gaze shifted to Winnidith standing nearby, her beautiful emerald eyes filled with intense rage.
Is even Winnidith our enemy now?
Father, what should I do now!
Seeing Leah suddenly filled with hostility, Winnidith gave an awkward smile.
This at least showed that her priority was higher than Leah’s, the Light Elf.
That was good; she wouldn’t have to worry about her own heavy hitter being taken back under Elaril’s control.
However, she hadn’t forgotten that there were enemies behind Leah, so she hurriedly gave an order to Iseril.
“Go help her!”
Iseril moved immediately, and several Magic Arrays appeared behind him at the same time.
Wind, water, earth, and wood elements gathered rapidly under his emotionless voice; the flowing mana even formed a storm, constantly tearing at the already tattered walls.
Leah, standing opposite him, felt her heart sink into despair upon seeing Iseril release magic against her; even the way she held her spear seemed numb and powerless.
Who else could she rely on?
“Leah! Get out of the way!!!!”
Winnidith’s voice rang out like a warning bell for the despairing Leah.
She suddenly snapped to her senses, realizing that the target of the magic wasn’t her, but what was behind her.
The uncles who were hunting her!
Boom! Explosions erupted behind her, and those overbearing auras began to show signs of weakening.
But Leah had no energy to care about that.
She looked at her expressionless elder and her worried friend, a sudden urge to cry overwhelming her.
Uncle Iseril is still on my side! Winnidith is still on my side!
Leah’s spirit was instantly restored.
She raised her spear and quickly approached Winnidith and the others, simultaneously shouting a warning.
“Don’t be careless! Those hunting me are three 9th-tier powerhouses from the Sacred Wood Monastery! They won’t be defeated by a single attack from Uncle Iseril!”
Three 9th-tier powerhouses!
Winnidith was so frightened by the news that her little face turned pale.
What on earth did Leah do to be hunted by three 9th-tier powerhouses simultaneously!
But there was no time left for her to think.
As Leah arrived at her side, a red figure had already charged into the library, fiercely thrusting a double-headed bayonet toward Leah.
“Arns! Go help her!”
“Get out of the way, Your Highness!”
Leah and Arns attacked at the same time; the spear, the golden sword, and the bayonet clashed, the Douqi erupting from the collision almost blowing Isabella away.
“Don’t think I’m truly afraid of you!!!”
Leah flared up, even stronger Douqi erupting from the tip of her spear; with a powerful swing of her arm, she actually sent the red-haired elf flying back.
But it was to little avail, as the red-haired elf regained her center of gravity mid-air.
As she landed, two high-tier spells “whooshed” past both sides of her body, targeting Leah, who was gasping for air after exerting so much force!
“5th-tier Magic—Crystal Rock Bulwark!”
Winnidith moved her Staff, and three crystal walls rose from the ground.
But even she couldn’t negate a 7th-tier spell with a 5th-tier one.
Fortunately, she had Iseril follow up with a defensive high-tier spell, narrowly blocking the attack.
Step… step…
Two more elves walked up to the red-haired elf’s side.
One man and one woman, both wearing the robes of the Sacred Wood Monastery, their expressions as calm as those of ordinary devotees.
But the terrifying mana fluctuations radiating from them were enough to prove they were genuine 9th-tier Mages.
And…
Winnidith turned on her Elemental Vision, only to find that the eyes of these three elves had already been dyed black by the dense Dark Element.
“Drop your weapons.”
She tried to issue a command to them, but the three elves did not move at all; instead, they simultaneously raised their weapons toward them.
Bang!
The trio’s attack reached Winnidith in the blink of an eye.
Fortunately, Iseril’s reaction was superior, having released a mana barrier in advance; Winnidith felt nothing more than her heart beating a little fast.
“Winnidith, Isabella! We are no match for them! Quickly find a stone wall engraved with a lake, a meadow, and dancing elves. There is a Teleportation Magic Circle there that can send us away to another place!!!!”
Winnidith froze.
She looked at the room that had turned into ruins, and her beautiful face twisted in despair.
She had no idea which pile of rubble that stone wall was buried under!
