With anxiety in her heart, she poked her head out from the fitting room door.
After making sure there was no one outside, she carefully slid out, revealing her figure.
At that moment, the shop assistant approached her with a smile, holding a hair tie decorated with a fluffy rabbit-shaped pom-pom.
So this is what “finished” means after all…
Qianling let out a sigh, then obediently stood still, allowing the shop assistant to tie her hair into a side braid.
In front of the “fully armed” Qianling, Yang Mo even forgot to breathe for a moment.
“Amazing… So cute it could be considered an act of violence…”
As she spoke, she raised her phone, aiming the camera at Qianling from every angle and pressing the shutter, not even letting Qianling pose.
But Qianling kept her head lowered, not daring to even look at the camera.
“Are you sure it’s really okay? For me to wear these clothes…”
She mumbled in a low voice.
Yang Mo, still squatting and taking photos, moved her phone away from between them.
With that, Qianling could finally see her face again.
Yang Mo was gazing at Qianling with serious eyes. As those bright eyes blinked once, it seemed the question in her mind was answered.
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong. You should have a bit more confidence in yourself.”
Yang Mo, as if cheering Qianling on, raised a fist.
After answering so firmly, she then turned to ask, “Qianling, do you dislike being the center of attention?”
“Probably, yeah…”
Qianling nodded.
“I thought so.” Yang Mo continued, stroking her own chin. “This outfit really is attention-grabbing, but it’s fine. Let me come up with something for you!”
“Something…?”
Before Qianling could finish her question, Yang Mo darted over to the shop assistant and started whispering rapidly.
Seeing how confident Yang Mo looked before leaving, Qianling let out a sigh of relief.
So it seems… she probably isn’t going to buy this outfit after all, right?
Geez, Yang Mo… you’re actually quite considerate at times like this.
For a moment, Qianling even started to imagine such things.
But she quickly realized something was wrong.
After Yang Mo finished talking with the shop assistant, she accepted a box from her and carried it toward the fitting room.
“Qianling, wait for me just a bit, okay?”
As she passed by, she said this to Qianling.
When she returned from the fitting room to Qianling’s side, Qianling’s bad premonition was proven true.
“Tada! How do I look?”
Yang Mo jumped in front of Qianling, making a peace sign above her head and slightly bending her raised index fingers, as if to mimic the softness of rabbit ears.
But rather than thinking she looked cute, Qianling had a much stronger reaction.
That was—
Who’s this landmine girl?!
Right before her, Yang Mo was dressed in almost the exact same outfit as she was.
Gaudy style, flashy accessories; the only difference was the main color scheme and the placement of decorations.
Qianling’s collar and skirt were pastel blue, while Yang Mo’s were pink—chosen precisely to match their pajamas’ colors.
Also, Qianling’s eye patch was on her right eye, while Yang Mo’s was on the opposite side.
Snapping out of her shock, Qianling immediately pointed at Yang Mo and asked, “Why are you wearing that?”
Yang Mo frowned at her words, her two hands above her head drooping down.
“Qianling, you still haven’t given your impression.”
“My impression… um, it’s really cute!”
Qianling looked left and right, finally managing to squeeze out a compliment, but this clearly didn’t satisfy Yang Mo.
“Really? Sounds so half-hearted.”
Yang Mo’s frown deepened, her face puffed up in displeasure.
Ugh… I actually meant it, though.
This left Qianling feeling a bit aggrieved.
Even if she couldn’t easily approve of herself right now, she could at least honestly praise Yang Mo, who was dressed the same way.
It’s just… the visual impact was way too much!
To change the subject, Qianling hurriedly asked Yang Mo why she did this.
“Let’s not talk about that. Didn’t you say you’d help me? Why did you put on the same outfit as me?”
“Hmph.” Yang Mo’s expression softened a little. Crossing her arms, she replied, “I thought, if I dress the same, I could help share some of the attention for you.”
“Share the attention?”
Qianling repeated the phrase, confused by what Yang Mo meant.
Yang Mo continued to explain.
“You said you’re scared of being the center of attention, right? But if I’m being noticed alongside you, won’t the attention you get be cut in half?”
“That… does kind of make sense…”
Qianling showed some agreement.
Even if this ‘half’ isn’t exactly the same as the original half, at least being attention-grabbing together takes less courage than standing out alone.
“See, I was right!”
Hearing Qianling’s answer, Yang Mo’s tone became light and cheerful.
Now that Yang Mo was also dressed for photos, she wasn’t content with just holding the camera.
She asked the shop assistant to help take pictures and stood with Qianling, posing in front of the camera.
Qianling stood on the right and Yang Mo on the left, their heads leaning together. Each stretched one hand toward the camera, forming a heart shape together.
Even with someone by her side, Qianling still felt her shame break through acceptable limits, so she kept her head lowered, looking off to the side, and her hand forming the heart was unsteady.
When they saw the finished photo, both of them laughed.
Yang Mo laughed out loud, while Qianling silently covered her mouth, trembling.
“Qianling, doesn’t it really have… that kind of vibe?”
“Mhm, it’s totally a sunny landmine girl and a gloomy landmine girl.”
Qianling had acted shy in the photo, but the outfit made her seem even gloomier.
Meanwhile, Yang Mo had tried too hard to strike a pose; standing next to the gloomy figure on the right, her beaming smile almost seemed manic.
“I’ll send you the photo.”
Just as Yang Mo said this, she realized something.
“Wait, you haven’t registered a social account yet, have you?”
“No, because someone wouldn’t let me use my phone on the street.”
“It’s dangerous to use your phone while walking, no matter how urgent it is.”
After some quick tapping, Qianling successfully registered on the app Yang Mo recommended.
The icon was a cartoon orca in a red scarf.
It really did look a bit like an app she’d seen in her previous life.
Yang Mo’s avatar was a cartoon dolphin facing left, which looked a bit old-fashioned.
Come to think of it, it really is amazing.
Qianling glanced at the cartoon avatar, then looked up at Yang Mo’s face.
This girl clearly isn’t good with the internet, but her fashion sense is incredible.
Maybe aesthetics really is a kind of talent?
Photos kept coming in from Yang Mo’s phone to her account, all with surprisingly good taste.
Qianling started to wonder if Yang Mo might be talented in the arts.
After the photos were dealt with, Yang Mo went to pay.
As before, she bought every outfit they’d tried on—remarkably generous.
All the clothes were carefully packed and placed in sturdy paper shopping bags.
Except for the landmine-style outfits Yang Mo and Qianling were still wearing.
“Hey, don’t forget about what we’re wearing.”
Qianling reminded Yang Mo, who returned her a meaningful smile.
“Don’t tell me… you’re not…”
“Of course it’s what you’re thinking. Let’s go! We haven’t tried out our theory yet.”
Ignoring Qianling’s protests, Yang Mo grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the store.
“Wait, we haven’t picked up the clothes we bought!”
“Don’t worry! We’ll come back for them later!”
“Then stop pulling me! I can walk on my own!”
“Hmph, no way! I’m not letting you get away!”
All of Qianling’s struggles were in vain.
The two of them, dressed conspicuously, started another tour of the mall.
