‘Just when did things spiral out of control?’
Atiste pondered this question.
Eileen was running out of time, and Princess Lillian, leading a well-equipped team of Dwarf Berserkers, had been engaged in a fierce battle with Dorechiut until the very end.
However, a winner had yet to emerge…
“How old? Eight? The fastest driver?”
Eileen looked at the young Dwarf girl.
She was quite cute, but her demeanor suggested she was not someone to be trifled with.
Lillian said nothing, merely looking at Kilshka with a beaming smile.
The young girl pointed at Lillian and said, “You’re the one who said you could find my brother, right?”
Lillian replied, “Of course, you adorable little thing.”
Kilshka immediately put on her windbreaker and goggles.
At the same time, she called out to her father to bring the sled over, instructing him, “Give her the warmest equipment! As long as she can bring my brother back, I’ll take her to the Wasteland Prison at the fastest speed possible!”
Prushka said to Lillian, “Lady Lillian, please don’t take offense. My youngest daughter is quite impatient. The fact that she hasn’t already run off with you shows she’s being very calm. I usually keep her locked up at home because once she’s out, she…”
Kilshka urged, “Dad! Hurry up! Me and my snow dog team can’t wait any longer!”
Her six snow dogs were all standing ready, like six “soldiers” awaiting their “officer’s” command.
Even Lillian was amazed that a mere eight-year-old girl could tame six snow dogs at once.
She had heard that while snow dogs were obedient, coordinating multiple dogs simultaneously was an extremely difficult task.
Lillian complimented Kilshka, saying, “Appearances really are deceiving. Your presence will surely help lead us to victory!”
Eileen acted as if she didn’t care.
Regardless, aside from Lillian, only those Dwarf Berserkers could see her.
Her opinion didn’t matter.
Prushka quickly pulled out a set of cold-weather gear and handed it to Lillian.
Lillian said, “Please wait a moment. Could you provide a place for me to change? This dress is really…”
In truth, it wasn’t exactly inconvenient, as Lillian didn’t feel the cold.
She simply wanted to reclaim her sense of being “human.”
Kilshka grabbed Lillian’s hand and urged, “Come to my room. Change quickly, and let’s go!”
In the blink of an eye, Lillian was led into the young girl’s room.
The ceilings of the Dwarf house were quite low, but Lillian managed to squeeze inside.
Kilshka shut the door and told the Lillian inside, “Hurry up, hurry up!”
She really was an impatient child.
Lillian removed her high heels, peeled off her black thigh-high socks, and pulled on the thermal pants.
She stripped off her magnificent outfit layer by layer, replacing it with the cold-weather suit.
Finally, she put on the face mask and the thermal hat that covered her entire head, followed by the goggles.
When she stepped out again, she looked like a “snowman,” as her entire suit was white.
If she fell into the snow, it would be nearly impossible to spot her.
“Alright, there’s no time to lose. We’re heading out right now to find my brother!”
Kilshka pulled Lillian out of the house and pushed her onto the sled.
Once Lillian was buckled in, Kilshka jumped into the driver’s seat, gripped the reins tightly, and let out a loud shout, “Run!”
The six snow dogs sprinted out like the wind, kicking up powdered snow and leaving only the tracks of the sled behind them.
Lillian felt the wind-like speed.
A carriage truly couldn’t compare to this.
In heavy snow, carriages were bulky and hindered by the strong winds.
The sled, however, was small, fast, and light.
Kilshka’s driving skills were indeed astonishing.
In just a few minutes, they had traveled far from the village.
They tore through the heavy snow, the frost, and the endless snowfield.
She controlled the six snow dogs with a clear destination in mind.
Lillian had completely lost her sense of direction, yet Kilshka seemed to be “locked onto” their destination, even though they weren’t following any established paths.
Eileen followed behind the sled, feeling as though she didn’t even need to provide any reminders.
Lillian would reach the destination directly under the guidance of this eight-year-old girl.
‘How does she do it? Is it a natural blessing? Was she born with a built-in navigation system?’
That was a skill that even Grand Mages struggled to master.
Moreover, under her control, the sled’s speed was not slower than Eileen’s running speed.
She was a true young prodigy.
But that didn’t matter now.
Kilshka took shortcuts all the way, and in less than half an hour, they arrived at the Wasteland Prison.
At that moment, “Rolshka” stood before the igloo where the red-haired Dwarf Berserker was being held, appearing as if he had been waiting for Lillian’s arrival for a long time.
Kilshka slowed down, pulled down her goggles, and said happily, “It’s Brother!”
“Rolshka” waved to Kilshka with a very gentle expression.
Kilshka was overjoyed because her brother had always been that gentle.
Eileen whispered a warning into Lillian’s ear, “Be careful. Although he isn’t holding a weapon and looks like that unlucky coachman you know, his interior is already another person.”
Lillian nodded, signaling she understood.
Kilshka flew into “Rolshka’s” arms.
He caught her and smiled naturally, showing no trace of the hardships he had supposedly endured.
He was the complete opposite of the dejected coachman Lillian had first met.
However, Lillian intended to let “Rolshka” reveal the truth himself rather than exposing him proactively.
“Rolshka” asked Kilshka, “My dear sister, who is this person you brought? Introduce her to me.”
Kilshka said, “I don’t know her well. Father told me she knew where you were, so I was willing to bring her. Now it seems she wasn’t lying!”
“Rolshka” sized Lillian up first, then looked at Eileen behind her.
Eileen did not shy away, staring directly back at “Rolshka.”
Sensing a subtle, tense atmosphere, Lillian took the initiative to show friendliness.
“Kind Mister Coachman, I didn’t expect you to have such a cute little sister. Thank you for taking me to the Blacksmith Village!”
“Rolshka” smiled and said, “There is no need for thanks. On the contrary, I am very happy that you brought my sister to see me. However, I have decided not to go back. Because ‘Dorechiut’ took my lover, I no longer have a reason to return.”
Kilshka said anxiously, “Brother! You still have us!”
“Rolshka” maintained his gentle smile.
“My dear sister, your brother has decided to wander the world. This might be the last time I see you in this life.”
Both Eileen and Lillian could tell that the person inside “Rolshka” was already someone else; he was saying goodbye to the sister on behalf of the real Rolshka.
Eileen said to Lillian, “It seems these so-called ‘Dwarf Berserkers’ still have some humanity?”
Lillian shook her head, remaining vigilant.
“His behavior is unnervingly natural.”
