Letia pulled out a strange Magic Mask from her pocket.
This mask was a Magic Artifact she had obtained when she accidentally stumbled into a hidden room during a dungeon expedition.
Its function could be summed up in two words—Disguise.
As long as she wore it, she could transform herself into any image she imagined.
Unlike ordinary disguise magic, this artifact’s magical fluctuations were almost nonexistent, and it could even mimic the wearer’s scent.
If she blended in with the original person, it would be nearly impossible to tell them apart.
Letia had even used it to imitate the Holy Maiden’s face and walked past the Pope without anyone being able to see through her disguise.
More importantly, besides Liz, no one else knew she had this Magic Artifact, including Red.
Anyway, at this point in the story, the White Priestess and Red didn’t know each other.
So, tomorrow she could just capture the White Priestess in one fell swoop, then take her place as the so-called White Moonlight, and that would be a safe bet, right?
The script was fixed, but people were living beings.
As long as she seized the White Moonlight’s position, she might survive—and not stray too far from the script.
Letia had thought about cutting her losses and leaving directly, but the problem was that escaping the early days didn’t guarantee escaping the later ones.
Besides, she could still vaguely see future events in her mind.
Following the script would actually be safer.
Once she deviated from the script, more uncontrollable factors would arise.
After all, this was not a peaceful era like her previous life.
She had joined this team mainly because these people were strong.
Liz was a noble daughter and could protect her.
Otherwise, if the outside world were really safe, why wouldn’t she have just gone back home to farm?
While thinking this, Letia took off her clothes, exposing her smooth, delicate skin to the air.
She wasn’t tall—only about 1.55 meters—but her figure had the perfect golden ratio.
Not exactly sexy, but undeniably cute.
Looking at her reflection in the water, she saw a delicate, fair-skinned girl.
Indeed, quite cute.
Letia lay back in the water and closed her eyes quietly, allowing her tired mind to relax for a moment.
“Too bad I don’t know where the White Moonlight actually lives. Otherwise, I could just intercept her at home. Sigh… Tomorrow I’ll just wait by Rainwind Bridge and play the waiting game.”
The next day, Liz and the others returned to Dawnlight Town and began their free activities.
Liz seemed to be recruiting for the guild.
The elven archer Bethany went to the tavern to drink as usual, while the little mage Jessica disappeared somewhere unknown.
As for Letia, she had arrived early at the side of Rainwind Bridge to wait.
“If the script is right, the White Priestess should be here waiting for Red. As for the time… I’m not sure. Just wait.”
One hour passed.
Two hours passed…
Three hours passed…
Still no one appeared on Rainwind Bridge.
Only Letia stared at the empty pavilion, momentarily doubting her own sanity.
“Strange, where is she?”
“Damn it! Red’s here, so where is the White Priestess?!”
Seeing a familiar figure in the distance, Letia felt momentarily at a loss.
Her plan was to capture the White Moonlight from the script first, then take her place—but where was that person now?!
“Damn! I’ll just have to go for it…”
Letia tried to recall the White Priestess’s appearance from the script and quickly put on the Magic Mask.
As the magical fluctuations faded, the girl on the bridge had completely transformed into another person’s appearance.
“All I can do now is pray that the prince doesn’t run into the real one.”
Elsewhere, Red wandered aimlessly down the street after leaving Liz’s group.
What am I supposed to do now?
Just like a middle-aged man optimized for efficiency, Red was feeling a bit lost.
Normally, at this time, he would be preparing breakfast for the little darlings in the team.
But now, having left the group, he felt an emptiness, not knowing what to do.
Of course, going back was impossible.
He had finally escaped that suffocating place and gained freedom.
How could he return to that prison?
It was just that… what now?
Red bought two loaves of bread from a street vendor but didn’t eat them.
He kept walking forward, his mind wandering aimlessly.
“Sir, your eyes are filled with confusion. Are you facing some difficulties?”
The sudden, clear, bell-like voice snapped Red out of his thoughts.
Looking down, he saw a White Church Priest.
By appearance, the White Priest looked no older than sixteen.
The pure white priestess robe draped her in a holy glow, which highlighted her flawless and pure face.
The priestess held her hands together in prayer, her emerald eyes quietly fixed on Red.
Red even wondered if he was seeing an angel.
Did the White Church in Dawnlight Town have such a priestess?
And… why did her face seem a bit familiar?
He felt he had seen her somewhere before.
But her scent was completely unfamiliar—definitely not someone he knew.
“Sir?”
Seeing Red remain silent, Letia stood up, tiptoed, and waved her hand in front of his eyes.
“Ah… hello,”
Red shook his head:
“It’s not exactly that I have difficulties, just a bit lost.”
Letia smiled warmly, like a spring breeze, quietly watching Red.
“Troubled thoughts are like a heavy burden on your back.”
As a Priest, Letia was a cleric and knew all the pious tones.
She didn’t believe in gods, but that didn’t stop her from borrowing a little Holy Light from them.
“If you don’t mind, the Lord will listen to your troubles. Speaking them aloud will lighten your heart. Judging from your attire, you must be an adventurer?”
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
Reid chuckled dryly and shook his head.
As a man, he kept all his hardships locked inside.
Even with his closest companions, he wouldn’t share them.
Besides, talking about troubles to someone who looked almost ten years younger than him felt strange, didn’t it?
Letia was a bit confused.
She didn’t remember Red being this closed off.
Although she hadn’t interacted much with him before, Liz had made it clear that Red was an extremely selfless good person.
When Liz talked to him, the conversation never went cold.
So now what?
Letia’s mind was a mess.
She had her plan figured out but hadn’t prepared any conversation topics.
Just as she was at a loss, an awkward sound suddenly rang out.
“Guu~~~”
Letia froze, her face turning bright red, even her ears burning.
Red was momentarily stunned but then smiled gently as before.
“Looks like you haven’t eaten breakfast, Miss Priestess. I happen to have an extra piece of bread here. Would you like some?”
“Th-thank you…”
Letia lowered her head but still took the bread he offered.
“Do you mind if I sit next to you?”
“No, not at all.”
“By the way, this might be a bit forward…”
Red sat down beside Letia.
A gentle breeze stirred, carrying the faint orchid scent from the girl.
Even the bland bread in his hand seemed a little sweeter.
“But I still want to ask, Miss Priestess, does your family have a sister named Letia?”
“Cough! Cough! Cough!!!”
