“What’s going on, Xiao Xi!?”
They anxiously asked why her clothes were in such a state.
“We were attacked by Demons…”
Then the two sisters recounted what had happened to Qingyan and the others. After hearing it, their expressions turned shockingly grave.
“You’re saying the three of you encountered nine members of the Blood Clan and escaped from them!?”
“That’s right. Thankfully, we managed to get away.”
Recalling that battle, Xiao Xi couldn’t help but tremble; she had come so close to death—just a hair’s breadth away.
“What about their ranks? How strong were they?”
Su Luoluo asked immediately.
“I don’t know exactly, but judging by how they fought, their levels should be about the same as mine—probably all S-Rank.”
Xiao Xi didn’t have the ability to Appraise, so she could only estimate based on combat skill that they were at least S-Rank, similar to herself.
“S-Rank, huh… and three of them just appeared at once…”
“That’s not all,” Luna suddenly interjected. “They weren’t just S-Rank. When I first saw them, four of those nine were SS-Class.”
Luna was the only one among them with the Appraisal skill, so she naturally knew the exact ranks of those nine Blood Clan members.
“Four!?”
Luna’s words shocked everyone again, especially Xiao Xi.
“No kidding… You escaping from them is like getting stabbed in the back and still walking away—consider yourselves lucky. What kind of fools would they have to be to get chased off like that?”
Su Luoluo marveled, amazed at how incompetent their enemies must have been to be driven away.
“It wasn’t me though, it was Dai Lina who defeated them.”
“Dai Lina!? Isn’t she the same rank as you? She was capable of driving them all off!?”
When Qingyan said this, Xiao Xi didn’t know how to answer.
Honestly, she found it hard to believe Dai Lina could have chased away those S-Rank and SS-Class Demons. But whether she believed it or not, when she woke up, only Dai Lina was still standing there. So it had to be true.
Besides, she wouldn’t think it was her little sister’s doing—Dai Lina was only A-Rank, after all. It was impossible to imagine she could have driven them off.
“It could only have been her. I was unconscious at the time. I don’t know what method she used, but she definitely drove them away.”
“What about Xiao Lu? Xiao Lu, do you remember how you chased them off?”
Everyone turned their gaze toward Luna, who hadn’t passed out then and should know how Dai Lina had driven them away.
“Oh, right. Sis, how did you get out of there?”
Xiao Xi was curious how Luna had escaped from those three Blood Clan members.
Hearing her sister’s question, Luna’s expression immediately changed. She hadn’t expected to be asked that.
This was bad!
How was she supposed to answer that!?
“I… um…” Luna stammered, piquing their curiosity even more.
“What’s wrong, Xiao Lu? Didn’t you see what happened?”
“No… Actually, I was saved by Dai Lina too.”
Then Luna vividly described the battle between Dai Lina and the Blood Clan, making the entire scene sound thrilling!
Of course, this was all Luna’s fabrication. The parts about Dai Lina’s battle were entirely imagined.
After playing so many games and watching countless anime and novels, she could spin a story like that easily.
She really wanted to say it was her own doing, but that was impossible.
“Then, she said something like ‘Throw tile!’ and all the fighting stopped.”
That was how Luna finished describing the battle. After hearing it, everyone was utterly stunned.
“She really handled it all by herself!”
“Looks like during the simulation battle, Dai Lina wasn’t showing her full strength, Xiao Xi.”
“Ah? Yeah, I think that’s right.”
By now, Qingyan and the others all believed that Dai Lina had deliberately held back during the simulation and only showed her true strength when facing the Blood Clan.
“In any case, we should find a time to thank Dai Lina properly—she saved us this time.”
“Definitely, sis.”
They said this, but hadn’t yet figured out how to thank Dai Lina.
“Ha—suddenly feel so tired…” Xiao Xi said suddenly. The moment her energy drained, that sense of weakness spread through her body again.
“You should rest first, Xiao Xi. After going through something like this, you need to recuperate.”
“Exactly, better get some rest.”
Qingyan and the others all suggested Xiao Xi rest right away. Luna didn’t hesitate and immediately moved to help.
“Go rest now, sis. You’re still very weak and need to recover properly.”
Luna gently pushed her sister toward the bedroom as she spoke.
“Wait, little sister! I haven’t showered yet!”
Xiao Xi protested as Luna pushed her along, wanting to bathe before resting.
But Luna wasn’t about to let her roam around in this state.
“It’s too late for that now. Forget the shower for now—rest first. Your health is the priority.”
So Xiao Xi was half-pushed, half-led back to her room to rest.
After seeing Xiao Xi safely off, Luna returned to the living room.
“Good night, everyone.”
After telling Qingyan and the others she was tired too, Luna left the living room and returned to her own room, locking the door behind her.
She placed the portion of fried chicken meant for herself and Elisa on her desk, then called out to Elisa.
“Eliza, come out and eat!”
Eliza “emerged” from within her body, eagerly grabbing the still-packaged fried chicken and starting to eat.
“I’m about to dig in!”
She tore off piece after piece of the chicken, eating each bite with a satisfied expression.
“Delicious~ so good!”
Luna didn’t touch her own portion. She just watched Eliza devour the chicken at the desk, all while questions swirled in her mind.
Luna had many things she wanted to ask, but when Eliza said, “That’s a secret,” the questions were dashed.
Still, Luna couldn’t help but remain curious, imagining all kinds of possibilities.
If I can’t ask, I might as well think about it myself.
Eliza sensed Luna’s thoughts and said, “You have a lot of questions for me, don’t you, kid?” She spoke as if she were a worm in Luna’s stomach.
Wait…
Actually, that wasn’t too far off…
“Yeah, but didn’t you say ‘That’s a secret’?”
“That’s right. The timing isn’t right yet, so I can’t tell you everything.”
“…Then… how long until this so-called ‘right timing’?”
Luna asked.
Eliza only replied,
“That’s a secret, too.”
Again with that phrase…
Luna thought this to herself.
“But since you bought me something delicious, I’ll tell you one thing.”
At that, Luna’s interest immediately peaked, her eyes full of curiosity.
“What? What are you going to tell me?”
“I’ll tell you about those two. The two Demons—a man and a woman.”
“Oh, those…” Luna recalled the two mysterious Demons.
“They’re my subordinates. The man is No. 1, the woman is No. 7. Besides them, there are nine others.”
“Your subordinates!?”
Luna was shocked when Eliza said that.
She had already suspected this was possible, but hearing it aloud still stunned her.
After all, Eliza was only a part of her body—there was no way she could be connected to those two Demons.
“Nine people, huh… Where are they now…” Luna wanted to ask more, but Eliza made a shushing gesture.
“That’s your second question, dear.”
Then she resumed eating the fried chicken, leaving Luna looking perplexed.
Why would she stop me at such a critical question!?
“Sigh…” Luna sighed helplessly.
But since Eliza didn’t want to say more, fine.
At least one of my questions was answered…
Thinking that, Luna pulled out her phone and, after replying to Dai Lina, started scrolling through it.
Suddenly, she had a thought.
If I get into trouble… I can just ask Eliza for help, right?
While scrolling, Luna thought about Eliza’s combat abilities—far stronger than her own, even surpassing master-level.
Having someone that powerful inside her was like having an unbeatable cheat code!
Then why bother training or practicing?
Learning, my foot!
Though she had said before she wouldn’t call Eliza “Mom”…
Rules are made to be broken!
Just calling her “Mom” wouldn’t be such a big deal.
If that’s all it takes to get Eliza’s help, why not?
Then I could play dumb and hide my strength!
“By the way, kid.”
“Uh… huh?” Luna’s daydream was broken by Eliza’s voice. She looked at her, wondering what she was about to say.
“You’re thinking about asking me for help whenever you’re in trouble, or maybe planning to slack off now that you have me, right?”
This girl really was like a worm in her stomach—knowing everything.
“I advise you, unless it’s an emergency or a life-or-death situation, don’t ask for my help.”
“Why not?”
“Because there’s a price.”
She glanced at the clock on the wall, then her expression changed.
“Time’s almost up.”
“Time? What time?”
Luna felt a twinge of unease.
“Ten…”
Eliza started counting down…
