The communication crystal was still beeping relentlessly.
Compared to Litt’s radiant and flawless appearance, this crystal looked rather worn-out, at least five years old.
Moreover, it was an old model that didn’t display who was calling.
“Ding ding ding…”
Seeing that the crystal kept ringing nonstop, Red decided to take it to Litt.
It had been ringing for so long; maybe it was something urgent.
After hesitating for a moment, Red finally picked up the communication crystal.
But the moment he did, the call was already connected.
Red was momentarily stunned by this.
Normally, communication crystals are locked, and this kind of thing only happens if his fingerprint had been registered beforehand.
In other words, he might have used this crystal before.
Or it could be that this model was too outdated to have a locking function.
“Hello?”
A male voice came from the other end.
After hearing it, Red thought for a moment before finally placing the crystal to his ear.
“Hi, I’m Red. May I ask if you’re trying to reach Litt?”
Although he didn’t know who was on the other side, Red didn’t think it was Litt’s boyfriend.
If she really had a boyfriend, there was no way she’d act like this toward him.
The man on the other end hesitated upon hearing Red’s voice, then let out a laugh that sounded aristocratic—an aura Red didn’t like.
“Nice to meet you, Red. My name is Otto, and I’m Litt’s chaplain.”
Otto wasn’t lying; he truly was Litt’s chaplain.
“Is Litt home right now?”
Red glanced toward the nearby bedroom, nodded, and said,
“She is. May I ask what you need her for?”
Though Red knew the man was unlikely to be Litt’s boyfriend, hearing Otto claim to be her chaplain still put him at ease.
Otto’s tone on the other end was a smirking one, half sincere, half mocking.
“It’s not really a big matter. I have something I want to give her. It should be at the door now. Could you please help deliver it to her?”
“Okay.”
Red nodded.
Before hanging up, Otto specially added,
“This item is very important to her. Please make sure she receives it immediately.”
After emphasizing this, the communication crystal went silent.
“Something very important?”
Red was confused as he opened the door.
Just as Chaplain Otto said, there was a neatly wrapped package covered in yellow paper quietly resting by the door.
Judging by its appearance, it looked like an extremely thick book.
“I’d better give this to Litt first.”
It would be rude to open someone else’s package, especially something so important.
Red picked it up, intending to return to his room and hand it over to Litt.
Back in the living room, he stopped outside Litt’s bedroom door.
Thanks to the good habit he’d formed in Dawn’s Edge of always knocking before entering, Red knocked on the door first.
“Litt, you’ve got a delivery.”
Then, out of habit, he pushed the door open and walked inside.
“W-wait…!”
By the time the voice inside shouted, it was already too late.
First of all, Red insisted he didn’t do it on purpose.
Back at Dawn’s Edge, he often helped Liz by picking up her deliveries and other items.
At first, he always knocked and waited for a response before entering.
But after being scolded for no reason once, he started knocking then going straight in.
But this time…
It wasn’t Liz’s room he entered.
Standing before him was Litt, barely clothed, her face flushed bright red.
For some reason, one hand was covering her face, as if she was putting on something.
Her other hand held a band-aid, though what she intended to do with it was unclear.
Other than that, all Red could see was a flood of holy light.
Damn it!
Who summoned a Saint Knight here!?
Red cursed silently, but this was not the time to lose focus.
He had to figure out how to fix this.
More importantly, he couldn’t understand why she didn’t close the door when changing!
Though he was a bit touched that Litt trusted him so much, this was just way too lax!
Seeing Red freeze, Litt couldn’t help but speak up.
“Red… I’m… I’m changing… can you please look away for a moment?”
Hearing her voice, Red started to consider his options.
Avoiding the scene now was probably the best choice, but it would only prolong the awkwardness.
Later on, explaining everything would be even more troublesome.
More importantly, although Litt looked very beautiful and tempting like this, the undeniable truth was that Red didn’t have any wicked desires toward her.
After thinking it over, he exhaled slowly.
If he explained clearly that, yes, he had a little bit of awkward feelings but mostly just admiration, everything would be fine.
“As long as I explain properly, there won’t be any problems.”
“Phew~”
Reed finally spoke, “Litt…”
“Um… you can say it.”
Trying to keep up appearances, Litt had to endure the urge to kick Red out and listened to what he wanted to say.
No awkwardness…
No awkwardness…
No awkwardness…
After rehearsing the explanation in his head countless times, Red finally spoke.
“My feelings toward you are purely awkwardness. There is no affection or admiration.”
“…”
“…”
“G-get out of… my room!!”
“Ah!!”
Before Red could finish his excuse, the thick book wrapped in yellow paper flew straight at his face, sending him flying backward.
***
“Damn it!”
After kicking Red out and locking the door behind her, Litt, her face still blazing red, took off the Disguise Mask from her face.
Thankfully, Red had knocked first.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have had time to put the mask on.
The Disguise Mask adapted based on how many layers of clothing she wore, so even when wearing it as Litt, she was still essentially naked underneath.
“Whew…”
Litt patted her slightly flushed face.
It was her first time being stared at like that for so long; anyone would feel uncomfortable.
What?
You say you were a man in your previous life, so why would you feel uneasy?
Imagine your brother staring at you like a ravenous wolf—would you feel comfortable?
“Looks like I need to be more careful next time.”
Back at Dawn’s Edge, since everyone was female, Red rarely visited her room, so she never bothered locking the door.
But now that had to change.
She would have to lock the door before going to bed.
After all, he had said it outright:
“What do you mean your feelings toward me are purely awkwardness?”
So, Red thought of his White Moon Crush that way?
I spit on that!
But on the bright side, since she was already disguised as Litt, Red had seen Litt’s naked body, not her real self.
So, in a way, she hadn’t lost too much… right?
Damn!
Still, she was mad!
