Walter had already been on the verge of losing control.
Liyakade’s earlier words, combined with the other commoners now joining in to mock him, completely shattered his composure.
“Now this should prove Lord Fied and the others are innocent, right, Lord Walter?”
Graham spoke up at just the right moment, hoping to settle the matter once and for all.
After all, judging from everything that had happened so far, Field and the others didn’t seem like the type to poison the water source.
Even if they really did leave the camp last night, they must have had their own reasons, not to poison the caravan’s water.
“The Sister helped treat and detoxify us! With her as a witness, Lord Fied and the others are definitely not at fault.”
“That’s right, Lord Fied and the others have no motive at all.”

After Graham stepped forward to state his position, the other commoners also came forward one after another to speak up for Field and the others.
Vidar, watching from within the crowd, secretly cursed Walter in his heart for being an idiot.
He hadn’t even noticed such a logical flaw and instead let Liyakade and the others easily defuse the situation.
If this continued, Liyakade’s prestige within the caravan would only grow higher and higher.
He really wanted to step out and help Walter refute Field a few times.
However, he had just dealt with the poisoned water source earlier and had already clashed with Liyakade and her group.
If he stepped out now to continue arguing with them, it might only arouse their suspicion even more.
“Even if Natalia helped those poisoned people, so what?” Walter continued, clinging on stubbornly.
“She didn’t see with her own eyes what Liyakade and Fied specifically did after leaving the camp. She doesn’t even know where those two went. How can she testify for Liyakade and the others based on that!?”
Even though there had been some flaws in Walter’s logic earlier, he still didn’t give up on harassing Liyakade and the others, clinging on desperately.
Because Liyakade and the others really did leave the camp last night, and no one witnessed what they did after leaving.
Even if Natalia could vouch for or testify for Liyakade and the others, there was no factual basis for it.
Liyakade and the others still couldn’t be completely cleared of suspicion.

What Walter said actually made some sense.
Even if Natalia wasn’t in cahoots with Liyakade and the others, she couldn’t completely prove their innocence either.

She might have just heard it verbally and believed them.

“Natalia, you can’t put it that way,” Walter said, his tone turning cold upon hearing her insults, and he began to mock her in return.
