“Tos…”
Just thinking about the issue made Red feel as though his head were about to explode.
He felt compelled to seek some validation from the man.
“Do you think I’m a playboy?”
“You?”
Facing the question, the corners of Tos’s mouth twitched.
“No, no, no. In my eyes, you’re just a pure-hearted virgin. The word ‘playboy’ has nothing to do with you. You don’t even go to the places on Succubus Street where the real action happens. How could you be a playboy?”
Perspectives differ between people, or perhaps it was the environment.
At least Red, who came from the Knight Class, really couldn’t understand a playboy like Tos.
“Or do you want to become a playboy, Red? I can take you to a nightclub tonight.”
“Forget it.”
Red speechlessly brushed off the hand Tos had draped over his shoulder.
“I have no interest in those kinds of places.”
Red didn’t want to dwell on the topic.
Honestly, he had hoped to find some useful plans or deployment preparations at the Adventurer Guild.
Unfortunately, this world was just a collection of amateur organizations.
The President of the Adventurer Guild was rambling on stage about honor, justice, and other empty words, all to prove his own pride and nobility.
Honestly… every time he saw these Nobles, it wasn’t hard to understand why Liz used to be like that.
Environment can affect a person’s entire life.
At least Liz had woken up.
As for this President… frankly, he was still intoxicated by noble power.
He hadn’t noticed at all that in Nightbright Town—a place dominated by Adventurers—those empty words were basically useless.
To motivate people here, it would be more effective to say they’d clear the Beasts in the Forest and then cover everyone’s expenses on Succubus Street.
That would be much more useful than so-called honor.
Even more ridiculous was that the President seemed to truly believe that as long as all the Adventurer Parties mobilized, everything would be fine.
Setting aside how many people he could actually mobilize, even if he did… whether they could deal with the Monsters from the 30th Floor and beyond was a serious problem.
While most of those Monsters were just grunts and weren’t particularly strong—even a Level 20 Adventurer could fight one-on-one—the problem was that there were very few Adventurers who could reach the 20th Floor.
And that was without factoring in Elite Magic Creatures.
Once an Elite Magic Creature appeared, the situation would take a turn for the worse, and that would be a huge problem.
Just as Red expected, after hearing the President of the Adventurer Guild talk endlessly about empty promises, most Adventurers lost interest.
However, to avoid being hassled by the Guild in the future, most of them forced themselves to stay seated.
But afterward, they wouldn’t put in any effort; they would only busy themselves with their own affairs.
Meanwhile, the President was still immersed in his own world, unaware of any of this.
“Tos, I remember the previous President wasn’t him, right?”
“During the time you had your Adventurer’s License canceled, the old President was promoted elsewhere. This President came from the Capital. They say he’s the second son of some Noble. He used a lot of money to come here to pad his resume, laying the groundwork for his future governance and power struggle.”
“…Hmph.”
Red looked at the high-and-mighty President and sighed helplessly.
Tos also sighed with emotion.
“Money and power… they really are omnipotent.”
“You’re the only rich kid with no right to say that. Don’t you think you’re being a bit of a Versailles?”
“Am I?”
Tos rubbed his hands together, his face full of helplessness.
“I didn’t use my family’s money, nor did I use their power. My wife and house were all obtained through my own hard work. So, I’m just like you, okay!”
“Don’t think I don’t know you’re just showing off that you found a girlfriend.”
Red silently gave Tos the middle finger.
For a guy like Tos, being a Versailles came naturally.
“But Tos, I’m curious. How did you fall for that little Succubus?”
Red really couldn’t understand this.
While views on sex were open here, Tos’s perspective was a bit too open.
Tos sighed helplessly, seemingly recalling the past.
“Actually… I didn’t want to at first. But when I walked out of that Succubus Parlor, that girl—she looked at me with that kind of eyes.”
“That kind of eyes?”
Red thought for a moment and gave a rough imitation.
“Was it like this?”
“Yes, yes, yes! That’s it! That look of extreme contempt.”
Tos was a bit reluctant to remember, but listening to the President talk nonsense was worse than chatting with Red, so he did his best to describe it.
“How should I put it? Red, have you ever experienced that feeling… when you were young, playing in the mud with your pants down, and a neighbor lady walks by? She sees your ‘little bird’ that wants to fly but can’t, then flashes a bright smile and says, ‘How cute!'”
Crunch, crunch, crunch…
Red suddenly heard strange noises.
He turned around to see a group of Scarlet Legion members huddled behind them.
From the look of it, they were there to eavesdrop on the gossip.
The men, in particular, instinctively tightened their fists after hearing those words, their knuckles cracking.
“I think I understand what you mean, Tos,” Brian said, crossing his arms.
“Someone said that to me 10 years ago.”
“Exactly. A man can be looked down upon, but he absolutely cannot be seen as ‘small’!”
“Right, right! Especially by a little Succubus like her!”
Tos immediately slammed a photo of Xiloyi onto the table.
“I took this at the time. Every time I see the expression in this photo, I get fired up. I want to pin her down and make her squeal incessantly!”
When the photo appeared, everyone went silent.
Then, their pitying gazes slowly fell upon Tos.
Tos froze for a moment, then became agitated.
“Hey, hey, hey! What are you all looking at me for?!”
“That’s because of the Succubus’s body! I’m really not small!”
“What’s with those pitying looks? Dammit, my fist is getting hard! It’s really getting hard!”
Amidst Tos’s angry protests, no one dared to step forward and pat his shoulder to comfort him.
Except Red.
His good brother grabbed Tos’s shoulders, his gaze sincere and serious.
Then, he consoled him.
“It’s okay, Tos. I understand you.”
“Red…”
Tos didn’t expect that Red, who usually only teased him, would actually stand by him at a time like this.
‘Red is a man too, after all. He must have been mocked with that same look before, right?’
Then, he heard Red speak in a voice full of absolute sincerity, as if imparting a philosophy of life.
“Letia once told me that if it’s not big, then being good at it works too.”
The warmth and touched feelings that had just bubbled up in Tos were instantly doused with a bucket of ice water.
“Red, I’m going to kill you!!”
