Meeting his intense gaze, Lan Hui suddenly understood. She knew he wouldn’t care without a reason. Probably plotting something tonight.
She nodded. “Very tired.”
Peng Kai was speechless. “It’s been several days and you’re still tired?”
Lan Hui blinked her beautiful eyes mischievously. “Extremely tired. Weak all over.”
Peng Kai saw her playful expression and knew she was lying. He laughed. “When we get home, I’ll give you a massage.”
Lan Hui quickly refused. “No need, I just want to rest more.”
Peng Kai said, “Resting isn’t enough. Only a massage helps.”
Lan Hui ignored him and yawned exaggeratedly. “So tired. I’ll sleep first. Wake me when we get home.”
Peng Kai laughed. “Okay.”
The Rolls-Royce performed excellently. After nine in the evening, with less traffic, Peng Kai arrived home in just over ten minutes.
Holding hands, they took the elevator upstairs.
Ding—the elevator stopped at the 21st floor. Lan Hui had just stepped out when she suddenly felt a strong force pulling her forward, and she immediately collided into a man’s cool embrace.
Her eyes widened. Before she could react, Peng Kai bent down and kissed her.
The kiss was burning and fierce.

Lan Hui nearly went crazy—this was still at the door!
Peng Kai kissed her while walking toward the entrance of room 2102.

He was impatient, as if completely ignited.
Lan Hui was pinned against the wall at the door. The coldness sobered her slightly. Her voice cracked with tears, “Kai-ge, this is the door, are you crazy?”
Only then did Peng Kai let her go, panting heavily as he hurried to unlock the door.
As soon as the door opened, before Lan Hui could step inside, Peng Kai pulled her into a strong embrace and hurried to the entryway.
His lips pressed down again.
She hooked her long legs tightly, and he closed the door behind them.
Just as she regained her balance, he pulled her several steps back.
In an instant, she was pressed against the wall behind the door.
His two hands acted like cushions, so when she hit the door, it didn’t hurt.
The quiet room was pitch black, the atmosphere sultry.
Peng Kai’s passion ignited hers, making her bolder.
She wrapped her hands around Peng Kai’s neck and began to respond fervently.
All the busyness and longing of these past days poured out at this moment, both desperate to let the other feel it.
At the last moment, Peng Kai finally restrained his wild thoughts, lifted her horizontally, and carried her to the bedroom.
Lan Hui’s head rested against the pillow. She was much more sober now, her watery eyes filled with confusion.
She had thought something might happen at the door but was surprised when nothing did.
Only when Peng Kai hurriedly opened the nightstand and took out contraceptives did she realize it wasn’t that he didn’t want anything to happen there—it was because there was no condom.
“There’s still time to think nonsense. That’s my fault.”
Peng Kai tore open the packaging, his eyes filled with a raging storm.

The next day, Lan Hui took a day off without care.
Last time, she had to go because the shop was short-staffed.
Now all technicians were on duty, so a day off wouldn’t matter much, and she definitely wouldn’t let herself suffer.
She slept until four in the afternoon.
By the time she slowly got ready, Peng Kai had already finished work and come back.
Peng Kai opened the door and first saw his girlfriend sitting on the sofa, playing with her phone.
She looked up at the sound. When their eyes met, Peng Kai noticed her eyes were swollen like walnuts.
Peng Kai put his handbag on the entryway cabinet, standing there to change shoes, feeling very guilty.
He had made her cry last night. He thought it was no big deal but didn’t expect her eyes to swell like this!
Would she be angry?
“Fu Fu, how’s your body?”
A man dressed in a black suit approached her. His eyes full of concern, handsome and stern—so good-looking that Lan Hui couldn’t stay mad. Her eyes curved with a smile as she looked at him.
“I’m okay, just weak all over.”
Peng Kai sat beside her and pulled her into his arms. “Are your eyes uncomfortable?”
Lan Hui nodded. “A bit. I saw how swollen they were when I brushed my teeth.”
Peng Kai apologized, “It’s all my fault. I’ll get some ice for you.”
Lan Hui nodded. “Okay.”
Actually, those tears were physiological. She hadn’t wanted to cry but couldn’t control it at that moment. Last night, she hadn’t felt much, but seeing her eyes swollen this morning startled her.
Peng Kai got up and went to the fridge for ice.
“Fu Fu, don’t cook tonight either. I’ve already had the bodyguard get dinner from the hotel. It’ll be ready in half an hour.”
Peng Kai said, “Fu Fu, sorry for making you eat takeout often. When I have free time, I’ll cook for you myself.”
Lan Hui smiled, “It’s okay. You’re busy. If I really want home-cooked food, I can make it myself.”
She didn’t make demands; she knew how busy he was, and he did his best.
Peng Kai was deeply moved. “Fu Fu, I want to take some time to visit your uncles and aunts.”

Lan Hui hid her smile and asked seriously, “Why suddenly want to meet my parents? Didn’t we agree to wait until after New Year?”
Peng Kai said seriously, “We’ve crossed the point of no return. As a man, I should take responsibility. I plan to meet your uncles and aunts and formally discuss marriage.”
Lan Hui was silent for a while before saying, “Kai-ge, have you talked with them? What do they think?”
Peng Kai replied, “I haven’t told them yet. I’m telling you first to discuss and hear your opinion. My parents respect me, and at my age, I should get married.”
Lan Hui was surprised. “Are you sure your uncles and aunts will agree?”
Peng Kai nodded. “They know I have a girlfriend. It’s only natural for me to get married. If I marry Fu Fu, they’ll be secretly happy.”
Lan Hui laughed and cried, “I think it’s better to wait until after New Year. We’ve only been together a few months. Talking about marriage now is too soon. Even if you meet my parents, they probably won’t be at ease. After New Year is a better time. Besides, you’re so busy now. Focus on your career first.”
Peng Kai smiled. “Fu Fu, the product manager praised me today. Said I’m serious, hardworking, and learn quickly. Next month, they plan to have me lead a project on my own.”
Lan Hui smiled. “That’s great.”
At night, she leaned over and kissed him on the lips. “Here’s a reward for your hard work these days.”
Peng Kai smiled happily. “Slow and steady wins the race. As long as I work hard, the results won’t be bad.”
Then he added, “By the way, my parents are preparing a recognition banquet next month to officially announce they’ve found me.”
Lan Hui was surprised. “Aren’t you interning at the grassroots level? Won’t the banquet reveal your identity?”
Peng Kai’s expression was embarrassed.
“Most colleagues already know who I am. My parents treat me very well. My mom finds all sorts of reasons to inspect the department. Eventually, it’s hard for others not to know. So we might as well go public next month.”
Lan Hui nodded. “That works.”
Peng Kai carefully applied ice to Lan Hui’s eyes. “Fu Fu, do they feel better now?”
Lan Hui nodded and leaned over to kiss her boyfriend again. “Kai-ge, you’re so good.”
After two kisses, Peng Kai’s expression changed.
Lan Hui instantly understood and tried to run, but Peng Kai swiftly caught her.
“Kai-ge, what are you trying to do?”
