Chapter 24:The Hunter’s Confession

“Pah!”

Upon hearing that, Pikachu couldn’t help but spit to the side.

She spoke up, unable to take it anymore.

“Are you really that naive, or are you just pretending, sister?”

“Even if you look small, don’t tell me you’re still a minor!”

“You don’t look like one to me!”

Naughty Meow replied sheepishly, ” I just graduated from university a year ago and work as a clerk in a company. People always say I look like a child…”

Pikachu interrupted Naughty Meow.

At 200 pounds and looking like a professional wrestler, she couldn’t stand hearing such talk.

However, she didn’t lash out at her.

Instead, she turned to Yi Mo.

“Shiba Daye, are you really the Hunter?”

“I might not be the best player, but I’ve played Werewolf Kill before. I know better than to just believe whatever someone claims to be.”

“Also, have you figured out who looks like a Werewolf?”

Yi Mo replied with certainty, “I’m the Hunter, of course. What else could I be?”

“As for the Werewolves, it’s too early to talk about that.”

“The game has only just begun, and we have too little information.”

“Besides, this is a game where people actually die. I don’t want to give my personal conclusions so early.”

“By the way, what is your identity?”

Pikachu nodded.

“You’re kindhearted, but being kind is useless in this kind of game. I’ve played two games before, and the people in them were more devious than the last.”

As she spoke, she pointed at Naughty Meow.

Dieyu and Naughty Meow naturally refused to admit it.

Pikachu shook her head and sighed.

“We’ve been assigned to the same group, and we’re all women. It’s fate. Just don’t Knife me first. Let me live for a few days, and we can settle who wins in the final circle!”

Dieyu smiled, choosing not to address the comment.

Instead, she said playfully, “Sister Pikachu, you can use your Points to make yourself look better.”

“Maybe you couldn’t before, but you can always do it now.”

Pikachu clapped her hands.

“I’ve thought about it, but it’s not realistic!”

“Changing one’s physical appearance in reality costs way too many Points. How many games would I have to play for that?”

“I’d be better off going to a plastic surgery clinic, though with my looks, there’s probably no hope even there.”

“Besides, I can’t stand being delicate like you girls. This muscle on my arms makes me feel much more secure.”

As Pikachu spoke, she started laughing, even looking a bit embarrassed.

Yi Mo listened to the three girls chatting beside him.

It felt like a first for him.

He had no intention of joining in.

“Young friend Shiba Daye, there are fourteen thatched huts in total. The layout and items inside are identical. I can’t see any difference.”

Conan adjusted his glasses.

He then pointed at the Ordinary Girl Village Chief and Unrivaled.

Though Unrivaled feared Yi Mo, he wasn’t afraid of Conan.

He immediately snapped back, “Nonsense! I’m a good person. Don’t even try to frame me!”

He then turned to explain to Yi Mo, “By the way, Big Brother, the reason I didn’t go up was because I saw this freckled girl wasn’t going. I was worried she was up to something, so I stayed to supervise her!”

The ordinary maiden glared at Unrivaled but ignored him.

Yi Mo knew full well that Unrivaled was just being lazy and didn’t want to climb the hill.

He didn’t intend to press the issue and waved his hand.

“Alright, alright, I get it.”

“Let’s leave it at that. Today is safe anyway. The afternoon is still long, so feel free to move around in your groups.”

“And then…”

Yi Mo was about to announce the next arrangement when Baiduren interrupted him.

“Shiba Daye, you haven’t said what your group found yet.”Yi Mo didn’t hide anything and answered honestly, “You can’t leave the village; the System blocks it. At the wooden gate at the western entrance, the System has spawned food. If you’re hungry, you can go eat.”

“Hey, Big Guy, where are you going?”

Before Yi Mo could speak, Unrivaled shouted at him.

Great Emperor Zhenwu replied without looking back, “Play the game all you want, but you have to eat!”

“I’m starving!”

“Don’t worry, I’ll bring some for you guys too!”

Unrivaled watched him, looking somewhat disdainful.

“Sigh, what a simple-minded guy with more brawn than brains. Is he a glutton? He actually has the mood to eat.”

“In this heat, too!”

Then, Yi Mo poked him with a wooden stick.

“You go too. Don’t let him be alone.”

“There are three bamboo baskets. Help him bring one over!”

Unrivaled froze, his face falling.

“Oh! My God!”

He was about to leave when Baiduren stopped him.

“Don’t make him go. I’ll do it!”

Baiduren’s reasoning was simple: he was disgusted by how dirty Unrivaled was.

Yi Mo didn’t refuse and nodded.

Unrivaled shrugged innocently.

“Ha… Big Brother, you saw that. It’s not that I wasn’t willing to go!”

“Hahaha…”

And so, Great Emperor Zhenwu and Baiduren brought the food to the Great Banyan Tree.

Baiduren rubbed his nose and said, “Shiba Daye, what were you going to say? Continue.”

“I hope you can offer some substantive suggestions so I can see if you’re worth being the Village Chief.”

Yi Mo waved his hand dismissively.

“What’s the point? To find out who the Werewolf is?”

Baiduren said, “That would be for the best.”

Yi Mo shook his head.

“I didn’t become the Village Chief because I’m a smart veteran player or because I have great logical thinking.”

As Yi Mo spoke, he looked at Conan and Baiduren respectively, then said as if it were a matter of course, “It’s because I’m the Hunter. I have a gun, and you don’t.”

“I’m a good person, and you all know it. That’s why I’m the Village Chief.”

“Who is the Werewolf?”

“Sorry, I don’t know.”

“I also don’t believe my judgment is that accurate.”

Looking at the bewildered crowd, he covered his left eye with his left hand.
