“Something’s wrong?”
Red thought of the Ice Witch, Ymir.
As the Lord of the 35th Floor, her appearance on the surface was strange enough to begin with.
However, Red still spoke up to ask.
“What do you mean?”
“The movement patterns of the monsters are quite abnormal. The Lord of the 35th Floor has mysteriously vanished, and the Teleportation Anchor Magic Circles are failing from time to time…”
When Brian reached this point, he paused for a moment, perhaps wondering whether he should continue.
But seeing Red’s calm expression, he eventually spoke.
“Furthermore, someone in this area spotted a blonde man wearing a mask.”
As soon as those words were spoken, the three people present fell silent.
There was no need to say who this blonde man was; they knew better than anyone.
Tos leaned against the back of his chair, rocking it back and forth like a rocking chair.
“What is that fellow Otto plotting now?”
“It’s unclear,” Brian said, shaking his head.
“But according to Mason, the anomalies in that area are very likely related to him.”
Meanwhile, Red seemed to have thought of something.
He slowly proposed a possibility.
“Otto likely intends to go deep into the Dungeon. His goal is very likely the 50th Floor… But on his own, it would be nearly impossible to deal with so many monsters. So… is it possible that he plans to use some method to teleport the Dungeon’s monsters to the surface?”
As soon as he said this, the expressions of Tos and Brian instantly froze.
“That… that’s impossible, right?”
“Normally speaking, such a thing is nearly impossible to achieve,” Red continued.
“But Otto is someone who rarely plays by the rules.”
“Otto… I…”
At this point, Letia didn’t even have the strength left to curse.
She lay sprawled on the table, looking at Ymir, who was still full of energy, and couldn’t help but ask.
“How much more is there?”
“Just these few copies left.”
Hearing that these were the last few, Letia forced herself to perk up.
After finishing those documents, she lost all her strength and collapsed onto the sofa.
“Holy crap… I’m so damn tired.”
At the same time, she asked Ymir in confusion.
“Don’t you feel tired?”
“It’s okay, I guess.”
Ymir responded while tidying up the documents.
“In my previous world, during my senior year, I spent an entire year looking for a good job and couldn’t find one. So, in a sense… this fulfills a wish of mine. It also lets me earn some money to research a way back to my original world.”
After hearing Ymir’s words, Letia was left speechless.
She had no lingering attachment to her original world, so facing this tedious work, she naturally had no thoughts other than being tired.
There was no such thing as hope or dreams for her here.
If she could, she even wanted to drag Red over to do the work.
But unfortunately… she couldn’t.
At least, not for now.
“Then I’ll be heading back to the Church.”
“Go on, go on. Just let me lie here for a while.”
Letia didn’t even want to eat lunch; she just lay there on the sofa.
Her gaze fell upon the room on the second floor that originally belonged to Red.
Speaking of which, she still had many of her things inside that she hadn’t packed.
She needed to find some time to tidy up.
But… that was the thought.
In reality, she didn’t want to move at all.
Nominally, Letia had come to stay here temporarily because she was worried about Red’s mental state.
In truth, Letia knew very well that she… simply wanted to come to Red’s place to mooch food and drinks and just lie flat without putting in any effort.
In the end, her attempt to relax was a total failure.
She had nearly passed out from this damn work…
It would have been better if Red had been the one doing it…
She was talking about work, but who was thinking about making someone else pass out?
She mentally sat herself at the same table as Tos.
However… back when she was in this house alone, she hadn’t been as happy as she was now.
At the time, she had bought this house more because she wanted to find a place for herself, to give a rootless drifter a place to stand.
But external roots are ultimately hollow.
In the end, even if she finished paying off the mortgage, this… was just a house.
It wasn’t a home, and it didn’t feel like one.
Instead, after Red arrived, a sense of life had mysteriously appeared.
Exactly when did she start feeling happy over every little detail of spending time with Red?
Maybe it was when he left the team?
Or maybe it was as they gradually became more familiar?
Or… had she actually let her guard down around Red back when they were in Dawnblade?
Letia’s mind was filled with random thoughts.
She turned over, and her gaze unconsciously fell on the mirror in the corner of the living room.
The girl lying on the sofa… for some reason, the corners of her mouth had curled into a smile.
“No, no, no! What am I even thinking?”
Letia sat up and slapped her cheeks.
“These damn hormones, this damn excitement…!”
She originally wanted to make the expression on her face look less relaxed, but after the slaps, her face looked flushed instead, as if she were blushing.
“Sigh…”
To be honest, there weren’t many ways to pass the time in this other world.
Places that could be considered a pastime were probably limited to Succubus Street.
But while Letia claimed to be a seasoned veteran of the wilderness, the truth was she never went to those kinds of places.
So what was the only way she could pass the time?
Mining.
But she couldn’t exactly start acting like a mole in the middle of the living room, could she?
The living room was quiet, with no movement except for the rustling sound of Letia tossing and turning on the sofa.
“That guy Red… why hasn’t he come back yet?”
She sat up with a bit of a grumble and took out her Communicator Crystal.
After fiddling with it for a while, she eventually put it back down.
“Well, whatever. Even if he went to Succubus Street, it has nothing to do with me.”
After saying that, she felt a bit hungry.
She put on her slippers and walked into the kitchen.
Since things had come to this, she might as well cook.
Letia skillfully prepared the meal.
She had originally planned to only make enough for herself, but as she cooked, she realized she had subconsciously prepared lunch for two people.
Looking at the extra dishes, Letia scratched her head.
“Forget it. I’m sure… Red will be back soon, right?”
Just as she finished muttering, the girl couldn’t help but laugh at herself.
She had long since grown used to being alone, yet now, she still felt a little bit of loneliness over something like this.
People are never satisfied with the status quo.
Once you’ve felt the warm sunlight, perhaps… it really is hard to go back to that dark corner.
It was true for Red, and wasn’t it the same for her?
