“I… I may not have seen it myself, but I know that Bloodstone Ore absolutely cannot be produced outside the Magic Domain.”
Liyakade stammered slightly.
She had never actually seen Bloodstone Ore in this world, of course, but she had explored it many times in the game.
In the game, such ore simply did not generate at the Kingdom Border.
However, she could not say she had seen it, because that knowledge came from the game before she transmigrated.
If she said it out loud, people would either not believe her or think there was something deeply suspicious about her.
“I haven’t seen it, but since you say it can be mined, then show us the Bloodstone Ore you’ve gathered!”
By this point, Liyakade’s tone had become somewhat urgent.
“You speak as if you’ve seen it. If you haven’t, why do you say I can’t mine it?”
Vidar caught Liyakade’s stammering and perceived it as guilt.
He took the opportunity to become more aggressive.
He stopped looking at Liyakade entirely and instead turned back to the lead masked figure, Field.
“Sir, this matter depends on you. Do not let these women around you cloud your judgment.”
Liyakade’s face instantly darkened upon hearing those words.
During the noisy argument just now, Alice had managed to temporarily pull herself out of her mental mess.
However, hearing Vidar’s offensive remark caused Alice to feel a surge of hostility toward him as well.
What did he mean by ‘women clouding the mind’?
It was as if women were nothing but distractions to others.
Besides, Field was a woman too.
Could this Vidar not see that, or did he not even consider the possibility?
“Hmm… Bloodstone Ore? It does sound quite good.”
Field nodded, though the expression beneath her mask remained hidden.
“Then, Sir, can we discuss the details of our cooperation?”
Hearing Field’s words, Vidar forced a smile and rubbed his hands together.
He believed Field had already accepted his claims and was ready to move forward with a partnership.
“No. You are an eyesore. Get lost.”
Field’s cold voice reached Vidar’s ears, and his smile instantly froze.
He even doubted if he had heard her correctly.
Had Field not just believed his explanation?
Why was he still being rejected?
Firstly, since Liyakade also recognized the ore, it meant the ore definitely existed.
After all, Liyakade was a member of the Demon Race and had grown up near the Kingdom Border.
Regarding such strange and rare minerals, Liyakade should have more information than Vidar.
Secondly, there was Field’s intuition.
Though Vidar was dressed respectably, the way he looked at them—though subtle—felt wrong.
It made Field feel uncomfortable.
Finally, it was Vidar’s last comment.
Liyakade and Alice were her close friends; there was no hierarchy in their relationship.
Vidar had clearly treated Field as the sole person in charge while looking down on the other two.
Vidar felt his hands turn ice-cold, as if a sharp blade were pressed against his heart.
It felt as if even his blood had chilled.
“Scram.”
Liyakade’s tone had calmed down, reaching a point where it was almost gentle.
Yet, Vidar was so terrified by this soft whisper that he fled in a panic.
He practically crawled his way to the tents on the other side of the campfire.
“Hahaha, to think he’d be scared witless by a woman.”
“And he calls himself a noble.”
“He really went looking for trouble and got his face rubbed in the dirt, hahaha!”
Vidar listened to the mocking voices of the others in the camp as he escaped into his tent.
The fear in his heart slowly curdled into poisonous resentment.
He had not expected that woman to make such a fool out of him.
‘One day, I’ll make you pay for this.’
The moment the thought occurred to him, Vidar wanted nothing more than to pin Liyakade down and vent his frustrations on her.
“I feel like there are a lot of strange people today…”
After scaring Vidar away, Liyakade casually pulled at her long, silver-white hair and could not help but complain about the day’s encounters.
This man named Vidar was truly someone who treated people differently based on their status.
He was subservient to Field, acting like a dog trying to please her, yet he was so impatient with Liyakade.
This left her very dissatisfied.
Of course, there was also that woman earlier.
“Actually, there were only two, right?”
Seeing the self-important Vidar chased away by Liyakade so easily made Alice feel a bit better.
She began to chat with the two beside her.
“Hey, Alice, meeting two people that strange in a single day is already a lot, don’t you think?”
“Hmm… I suppose you’re right, Liyakade.”
Seeing the two of them finally speaking to each other again, Field’s hanging heart finally settled a little.
“Alright, alright. It’s getting late. Let’s head back and rest.”
With that, Field led the two of them to a spot slightly further away.
They set up their tent a distance from the main campfire to avoid being disturbed.
After all, they were all girls, and there might be some creeps in the caravan with designs on them.
It was always better to stay at a distance.
However, the scene of Liyakade scaring Vidar off had been witnessed by Natalia once again.
Others might not have noticed, but Natalia had.
She had seen the shift in the color of Liyakade’s eyes.
Natalia’s expression grew serious.
That silver-haired, red-eyed person was definitely not right.
