The environment, which moments ago was filled with murderous intent and piercing buzzing, was instantly cleared!
Only the tireless sound of waves lapping the shore remained, along with the “sun” in the sky that was steadily shrinking and no longer shining so blindingly.
This abrupt turn of events stunned both of the quarreling people.
Alexander stood up straight, his soaked clothes clinging to him as water dripped down.
He looked toward the direction where the swarm had retreated; his face showed shock at first, which was quickly replaced by a strong sense of resentment.
‘Someone… is cleaning up the mess we made?’
he muttered.
He glanced at Yue with a complex expression, but his previous hostility was temporarily suppressed by a larger goal.
“Our score — we’ll settle it later.”
Without waiting for Yue’s response, he quickly assessed the direction.
Ignoring his heavy, sodden clothes, he used both hands and feet to scramble up the reefs, racing toward the bay that seemed to be the eye of the settling storm.
Yue watched his departing back, standing silently in place.
Beneath the sack, her brows were tightly furrowed.
She also had important matters to handle.
Without further hesitation, her figure flickered like a shadow merging into the sea mist as she silently dove into the water, swimming rapidly toward the Observation Point.
She had to find Ri and Xiǎoyè immediately.
Things here were changing too fast and too strangely; they had to evacuate as soon as possible.
***
The damp Reef Area returned to silence, leaving only the sound of the waves.
In front of the Hidden Bay Cave, on the reef platform, Lin Yu — or rather, No. 2, who had taken over his body — shot out like a cannonball, charging directly at the majestic hawk-headed figure in the center.
“BLASPHEMER! BURN!”
Ra’s will exploded like a clap of thunder.
Welcoming Lin Yu was Ra’s massive fist, blazing with Sun Fire.
Before the punch even landed, the terrifyingly high temperature caused the air to distort and evaporate.
No. 2 didn’t dodge.
Instead, he threw a punch of his own.
Two disproportionate fists collided violently!
There were no flashy light effects from energy clashing, only a primitive, barbaric eruption of power!
A shockwave, a mix of golden divine fire and dark-gold air currents, exploded outward in a ring, instantly clearing and annihilating the nearby Holy Scarabs!
Crack!
The clear sound of bone fracturing rang out.
It was Lin Yu’s arm.
Under the divine might of a god, his forearm bones instantly twisted and snapped, piercing through the flesh and exposing charred remains!
The immense force sent him flying backward, where he slammed heavily into the molten reef behind him, splashing crimson slurry everywhere.
“Hmph.”
Ra’s incarnation let out a disdainful snort and withdrew its fist, the light on its knuckles merely dimmed.
But in the next moment, the fire within its hawk eyes flickered violently.
The human who had been sent flying stood up from the lava as if nothing had happened.
He twisted his broken, mangled arm.
Dark-gold light flickered rapidly at the wound like the most precise loom repairing fabric — charred flesh peeled away, and new flesh grew at a visible, frantic speed as the broken bones automatically aligned and healed.
Within just two breaths, the arm was restored to its original state, without even a scar left behind.
No. 2 grinned, revealing pearly white teeth.
He kicked off the ground, and his newly healed arm curled into a fist once more as his figure shot back at an even greater speed.
Ra was clearly enraged.
Both of its arms swung out, its burning divine fire condensing into solid gauntlets.
Carrying a will that could purify all things, it locked into combat with Lin Yu.
Bang!
Bang!
Boom!
The sounds of flesh colliding, bones shattering, and divine fire searing were endless.
This was a brawl that transcended common logic.
Lin Yu’s fighting style was barbaric and efficient.
He completely abandoned defense, trading injury for injury with every attack.
His fists hammered into Ra’s divine form, causing cracks to spread across the Solar Disk Crystal body and golden light to leak out.
His knee slammed into Ra’s abdomen, making the massive divine body hunch over.
Ra’s attacks were equally horrific.
Every time a burning fist hit, it left a charred, bone-deep hole in Lin Yu, even shattering half of his shoulder several times!
The divine fire was like a maggot on a bone, frantically burning his flesh and soul.
But No. 2’s recovery was even more abnormal!
No matter how fatal the wound, the dark-gold light would instantly cover it.
Charred, necrotic tissue would fall off, and new tissue would regenerate wildly, beginning to heal almost the instant he was injured!
He was like a piece of iron that was constantly being smashed only to be instantly reshaped, growing braver and wilder as the fight progressed!
Ra’s divine body also possessed strong recovery abilities.
The cracks inflicted by No. 2 closed quickly under the nourishment of divine power, but the speed of healing clearly couldn’t keep up with No. 2’s destruction!
The dark-gold power seemed to carry a trait that negated divinity, greatly suppressing the god’s regeneration!
Squelch!
In a moment of crossing paths, Lin Yu’s hand-blade acted like the sharpest divine weapon, forcibly slicing into the neck where Ra’s hawk head joined its human body!
Golden divine blood sprayed out like lava, scorching the ground!
Ra let out a roar of pain and fury, throwing a backhand punch that directly pierced through Lin Yu’s chest!
His heart was instantly vaporized in the divine fire!
Lin Yu’s movements stalled for a fraction of a second.
He looked down at the hole in his chest, then looked up at Ra, who was inches away, and revealed a terrifyingly gruesome smile.
“Giving it back to you!”
He ignored the massive trauma to his chest.
His pierced body lunged forward, letting the arm skewering him tear a larger wound, while his left hand — wrapped in dark-gold light with fingers hooked like claws — slammed into the open wound on Ra’s neck.
“ROAR — !!!”
Ra let out the most piercing scream since the start of the battle!
It felt a power filled with destruction and devouring intent tearing through its core, frantically destroying its structure and plundering its divine power through the arm lodged in its neck.
It struggled violently, its other burning fist frantically pummeling Lin Yu’s head and shoulders.
Every heavy blow caused Lin Yu’s body to deform drastically, the sound of bones breaking like popping corn.
But Lin Yu seemed to feel no pain.
He simply gripped the wound on Ra’s neck tightly, his dark-gold pupils staring coldly into the god’s eyes, which were full of shock, fury, and a hint of fear.
He devoured and destroyed without mercy!
Ra’s struggles grew weaker, and its pummeling fists lost their strength.
Its massive divine body grew dim and transparent at a visible rate, cracks spreading across its entire form, no longer able to heal.
On the body of the man who had just crushed a god with his bare hands, those horrific wounds were healing at a visible speed.
Charred skin peeled away to reveal the new, slightly pale skin beneath, and broken bones restructured with faint clicking sounds.
He — or rather, No. 2 — shook the golden divine residue from his hands.
His face held no joy of victory, only a detached indifference, as if he had completed a boring task.
He tilted his head slightly, his dark-gold pupils seemingly able to pierce through the barriers of space.
“Tsk, disappointing.”
No. 2 curled his lip, seemingly annoyed by the approaching “audience.”
He glanced at Ra, who was kneeling on the ground, covered in startling cracks.
This long-awaited exercise was over.
Without any lingering attachment, he didn’t even bother to look twice at this so-called god.
He turned around, his steps carrying a lazy casualness, as if he were taking a stroll toward the cave he had come from, leaving the broken god behind without a second thought.
Once back inside the cave, No. 2’s figure detached from Lin Yu’s body once more.
The moment he regained control, a wave of intense pain struck, causing Lin Yu’s face to contort.
Seeing Lin Yu’s expression, No. 2 seemed to misunderstand something and began to explain.
“Alright, alright, there was no other way.”
No. 2 wore an innocent expression.
“I can’t exactly go public, or we’d be dragged off to a lab for experiments.”
No. 2 continued to ramble on to himself.
“Everyone goes through this. Like Molele from Mole’s World, Lu Mingfei from Dragon Raja, or Peter Parker, the Spider-Man. Doing good without leaving a name — honor and all that are just fleeting things.”
Enduring the agonizing pain, Lin Yu glanced at the two people beside him.
Despite their disheveled appearance, the wounds on Christina and the Asian girl had mostly healed.
“What exactly are you?”
Exhausted and gasping for breath, he forced out the question.
He didn’t care about gods or Divine Artifacts, nor did he care about honor or titles.
Compared to those, the thing inside his body that could kill a god was what made him the most uneasy.
“I told you already, I’m you.”
No. 2 gave a smile he thought was innocent and harmless.
The pain and fatigue intensified.
Lin Yu no longer had the strength to speak; he could only glare at the phantom before him with cold eyes.
“Don’t look at me like that. What do you think I am? An omniscient and omnipotent god?”
After a brief stalemate, Lin Yu finally collapsed into unconsciousness from exhaustion.
The innocent expression on No. 2’s face vanished instantly, and his dark-gold eyes once again filled with endless hatred.
