Chapter 22: Lulling to Sleep

“Kelosha, stop messing around…”

Vellandelle tried to push her away, but it was useless.

As a Banshee, Vellandelle’s physical strength was lacking.

But Kelosha was a strong and robust Beastman—pinning down Vellandelle was effortless.

Vellandelle was pressed onto the sofa by Kelosha.

A pair of golden vertical pupils stared intensely at her, making Vellandelle turn her head away.

Her face flushed red.

She knew how many layers the word “prey” in Kelosha’s mouth had: a cherished friend, a Strong Enemy to conquer, a lover to tame, or just an ordinary target.

Kelosha’s tail wagged rapidly.

She wrapped her arms around Vellandelle’s waist, burying her face in Vellandelle’s chest, and kept licking Vellandelle’s neck with her tongue.

Vellandelle shivered again.

As a Banshee, she was very sensitive.

She gripped the sofa tightly, doing her best not to let out any strange sounds.

Because she didn’t want to expose herself, nor could she push Kelosha away by strength alone.

Besides, she felt Kelosha probably had no ulterior motives—she just liked her scent.

I can endure it.

She’s just a child, probably doesn’t know how to express goodwill.

But what Vellandelle didn’t see was that in Kelosha’s golden vertical pupils, she was secretly peeking at Vellandelle, a glint in her eyes.

She really liked Vellandelle’s scent, but at first didn’t know how to approach her Roommate.

In Kelosha’s eyes, people with Vellandelle’s gentle temperament were all considerate and wouldn’t refuse her.

So she should express her affection openly.

At this moment, looking at Vellandelle’s flushed face, Kelosha solidified her thoughts.

A happy sound came from Kelosha’s mouth.

After licking enough, she simply lay on top of Vellandelle and got ready to rest.

Because last night she had been chasing a powerful opponent in the Trial, she hadn’t slept much.

Now she felt a bit sleepy.

When Vellandelle sensed Kelosha’s movement stop, she breathed a sigh of relief in her heart—only to see that Kelosha had fallen asleep on top of her!

“Kelosha, don’t sleep on me.”

But even after Vellandelle spoke, Kelosha kept her eyes closed.

Her tail, however, stretched out and brushed against Vellandelle.

Vellandelle felt an itch on her face, her vision blocked by white fur.

When Kelosha’s tail finally settled, Vellandelle felt a surge of anger.

She couldn’t suppress it any longer.

Her fist clenched, and she hammered it down onto Kelosha’s head.

“Uwaa! That hurts…”

Kelosha grabbed her head, letting out a pitiful sound.

“Why are you sleeping on me?”

Vellandelle’s expression was stern.

She didn’t soften at all because of Kelosha’s look.

She understood now—dealing with an idiot like this meant some rules had to be enforced.

And she absolutely couldn’t let Kelosha think she was easy to bully, or she’d keep taking advantage of her.

“Gulu… It’s just because I really like my Roommate…”

Kelosha lowered her head, not daring to look at Vellandelle.

Even her ears drooped, looking like a scolded little wolf.

In her heart, Kelosha couldn’t believe it—how could a smart wolf like her misjudge someone?

“From now on, we set three rules!”

“First, don’t just pounce… pounce on me at will.”

Vellandelle initially wanted to say “pounce into my arms,” but thought better of it.

After all, little puppies at home often do that.
