“Liakade, do you have any plans for the holidays?”
Alice suddenly put down the silver spoon in her hand and asked Liakade beside her.
“Liakade, didn’t you say before… that you weren’t born into the Onions Family, and that they didn’t want you anymore? So where are you planning to go for the holidays?”
“Mm… the holidays, huh.”
Being suddenly asked about holiday plans by Alice, Liakade hesitated a little. She had been so focused on staying alert about Darkness that she hadn’t even considered how to spend her holidays.
Returning to the Onions Family was definitely impossible. Liakade already knew she was only a foster child there. Besides, they had sold her off for the family’s benefit, fearing she might bring trouble.
Since both her birth mothers weren’t from the Onions Family, what reason did she have to go back?
Maybe she should take this opportunity to return to the Magic Domain and search for her ancestor, or see Korim?
But the Magic Domain was too far from the Royal City, with tall walls and soldiers guarding the border. Without permission from the upper echelons of the Kingdom or the army, it was impossible for Liakade to leave the Royal City from the Magic Domain’s side.
Moreover, the Magic Domain was filled with high-level demons, danger lurking everywhere. Though Liakade was half high-level demon herself, she was unfamiliar with the place, and the demon race wasn’t completely united inside. If she ran into some powerful demon targeting her, it would be bad.
Besides, Liakade herself didn’t even know the exact location of Korim’s territory. If she wanted to find Korim, she’d have to figure out how to contact her first.
Thinking like this, Liakade really felt she had nowhere to go. She could either stay at the Academy, or spend the holidays with Field in the Palace.
“I don’t seem to have anywhere to go. I could stay at the Academy, or just stay in the Palace for a while longer.”
After a moment of contemplation, Liakade answered Alice.
“Liakade, please stay in the Palace during the holidays!”
Hearing that Liakade was considering staying in the Palace, Field suddenly spoke up, clasping her hands together, a bit excited as she spoke to Liakade.
“Eh? Wh-Why are you so excited!”
Originally, the three of them moved into the Palace to ensure safety, to prevent Darkness from sneaking in at night while they were at the Academy. Now, Darkness had been dealt with, and the nighttime safety issue was gone.
Though Liakade and Field were already a couple, this was still the Palace, and Liakade wasn’t Field’s consort yet. Living here for free felt a bit wrong.
So, Liakade still preferred to spend the holidays at the Academy.
But since Field was so enthusiastic… maybe it was better to accept her invitation.
“If you really want me to stay, Field, then I’ll stay here for the holidays.”
“Yay!”
“Wait, Liakade!”
Alice glared at Field, who seemed to be making a victory speech, looking puffed up with anger.
Alice wasn’t planning to stay in the Royal City this holiday. She was preparing to return to her hometown and visit her mother.
If Alice went home by herself, leaving Liakade and Field alone to spend their days together, she didn’t dare imagine how depraved their lives would become.
By the time the holidays ended and Alice returned, Liakade might have been completely transformed into Field’s shape. They might even tell Alice that Liakade was pregnant with good news.
Therefore, Alice absolutely couldn’t leave Liakade alone here for the whole holiday.
Besides, it was Alice who first asked Liakade about her holiday plans. How did Field end up answering first?
“Liakade… since you have no plans for the holidays, could… could you come home with me?”
“Home?”
Liakade recalled that in the original story’s first holiday, Alice also prepared to return to her hometown to see her mother, just like now. But back then, she invited Field. Now, the person Alice was inviting was Liakade.
Alice’s hometown was also in a town near the Kingdom’s border. Taking a carriage back would take several days.
According to the story Liakade remembered, Alice would encounter some bandits on her way home this time. If Alice went back alone, it might be dangerous.
“Sure, that’s fine. Since it’s the holidays, staying in the Royal City would just be boring. Let’s go home together, Alice-chan.”
After speaking, Liakade looked over at Field. Since she agreed to go with Alice, she might as well ask if Field wanted to come too.
“Field, do you want to come with us?”
“Of course.”
Field agreed without hesitation. As long as she could be with Liakade, whether it was at the Academy, the Palace, or traveling to the Kingdom’s border, Field felt happy.
Thus, the three girls finished their breakfast in a relaxed and cheerful mood. They discussed holiday plans and decided to return to Alice’s hometown together in a few days.
After breakfast, the three still had an important task to do—to check Liakade’s health.
After all, during the final exams, Liakade had let Korim possess her in the battle against Darkness, causing her magic to run out and making her collapse.
For recovery, she had tormented both Alice and Field enough. Now, they had to check if a new life had been created from that night’s passion.
Accompanied by Field and Alice, Liakade arrived at a chapel next to the Palace—the very same one she had first visited for a check-up after learning she could get pregnant.
“Good day, Princess Field.”
Several Sisters bowed respectfully to the three girls. At Field’s request, the Sisters led Liakade up to the Holy Altar.
Come to think of it, these Sisters had met Liakade before, performing a check-up back then too. It hadn’t even been two weeks, and she was back again. Were young girls’ love lives always this lively now? She still looked like a student.
And if they were so afraid of pregnancy, why didn’t they use any safety measures?
Could it be… that they wanted to get pregnant?
Of course, though the Sister had these questions in her heart, she didn’t show it. She simply did her job as usual.
A blue-and-white light shone over Liakade’s body, making her feel warm. After a while, the light faded, and the examination ended.
“Miss, you are not pregnant.”
“Phew, that’s a relief.”
Though the Sisters showed no expression, Liakade still felt embarrassed. She wanted to leave the chapel quickly after the exam.
“Princess Field, could you wait a moment? I have something to say to you.”
Just as Liakade and the others were about to leave, the Sister who had performed the check-up suddenly called out to Field from behind.
