As the Fire Tornadoes closed in, everyone’s faces darkened. Eleanor continued her focused prayers, but no matter how much she reinforced the barrier, she couldn’t block that many Fire Tornadoes.
Lavinia tried to shoot at Anna Medias to interrupt the terrifying large-scale magic, but every arrow she fired was devoured by the Fire Tornadoes in front of Anna Medias, unable to break through at all.
Liyami attempted to manipulate the nearby shadows into forming a shadow shield in front of her, but the continuously rising Pillars of Flame greatly disrupted her stable control over the shadows. When the following Fire Tornadoes finally arrived, her control over the shadows was forcibly severed.
They were out of options now, only hoping that Kolin could find a way to handle this situation.
On the other side, Anna Medias watched with delight as the group was cornered. They had no chance of survival. ‘It was worth using this large-scale advanced magic that consumed at least a third of my mana. Even though my mana is running low now, as long as this spell eliminates them in one go, spending this mana is absolutely worth it!’
As the Fire Tornadoes approached, everyone felt sweat dripping down their backs. It might have been from tension or the scorching heat, but regardless, the tornadoes had reached the barrier. Under the expectant gazes of the group, the barrier was struck with several cracks but managed to hold back this tornado!
This immediately boosted morale, but before they could celebrate, the cracks suddenly widened and spread across the entire barrier. What had once seemed relatively sturdy now began to waver precariously.
Liyami focused her gaze and saw that another Fire Tornado had arrived. Not only that, but even more were approaching.
As they came into contact with more and more tornadoes, the barrier ultimately could not hold out any longer. It shattered under the impact of several tornadoes. Even though Eleanor swiftly released another barrier, it still couldn’t stop the tornadoes’ advance. The new barrier didn’t last even a second before it was smashed, further fueling the tension in everyone’s hearts.
‘The Fire Tornado is about to swallow me…’ Liyami was nervous, but she still believed in Kolin. ‘I believe! Kolin must have a way to deal with this!’
Thinking this, Liyami turned back to look at Kolin. To her surprise, she noticed that a crack had appeared in the ground beneath him, and a red light was flickering from within it.
Before Liyami could warn him, a towering Pillar of Flame completely engulfed Kolin’s figure. This sight stunned Liyami, her mouth still open.
Seeing this, Anna Medias’s mood only brightened further, the corners of her mouth twitching upward uncontrollably.
‘I don’t know what that Holy Knight was doing over there, but facing this situation, he probably has no other choice. He’s just waiting to die, right?’
Just as she thought this, Anna Medias suddenly felt as if her eyes had been stabbed, instinctively closing them. When she squinted to look again, she saw a dazzling light shining from the direction of the Holy Knight.
“Wh-What?! Could he still be alive?! No way?!”
Just as the unstoppable Fire Tornadoes were about to touch Lavinia and Eleanor, Kolin, who had been engulfed by the Pillar of Flame, moved. The Temple Sword in his hand began to shine with a brilliant light, instantly dispelling the flames around him.
Not only that, but the Fire Tornadoes, which were just a moment away from consuming everyone, could no longer advance even a single step because of this light.
Under Anna Medias’s terrified gaze, Kolin swung the light in his hand toward her at incredible speed without any hesitation.
The brilliant, dazzling light formed a sword aura that instantly sliced through the blocking Fire Tornadoes, calmed the erupting Pillars of Flame, and reached Anna Medias without any resistance.
By the time Anna Medias finally reacted, the light sword aura Kolin had unleashed was right in front of her. There was no way to dodge it.
The light struck her directly. There was no explosion or violent sound, only an even more intense radiance. The already dazzling light suddenly burst forth, making it impossible for anyone present to open their eyes, and even Kolin, the user, couldn’t help but blink.
After the light faded, the spot where Anna Medias had been standing was replaced by an extremely deep and long sword trench. Fortunately, Kolin had already reinforced the barrier to seal off the room; otherwise, the entire cave might have collapsed from this attack. As for Anna Medias herself, she was covering her missing right hand with her remaining left hand, staring at Kolin with a fierce yet deeply fearful expression.
The remaining half of her face was now completely covered in cracks, with bits of skin flaking off from time to time. It seemed that even if Kolin and the others didn’t pursue her, the half of Anna Medias’s face would probably crumble on its own before long.
But Kolin didn’t have time to wait for that. Although the last attack had consumed half of his mana, combined with his previous expenditures, he now had less than a quarter of his mana left. Even so, to eliminate the threat once and for all, Kolin prepared to execute her immediately.
To be honest, Kolin hadn’t expected Anna Medias to survive that attack. ‘I guess that’s what you’d expect from a Demon Executive who’s survived since the early days of the Human-Demon War—tenacious vitality.’
With that thought, Kolin raised his sword again, ready to unleash another Holy Light Judgment to ensure he could finish her in one blow. Although with his remaining mana he couldn’t achieve maximum charge, given her condition, it probably wouldn’t take much charging to finish her.
Just as Kolin began to charge, he suddenly noticed that Anna Medias was smiling for some reason.
Anna Medias let out a soft laugh, a grotesque smile spreading across her cracked half-face. She faced Kolin and the others with that smile. Even when Liyami and the others sensed something wrong and launched various attacks at her, she didn’t care at all, letting the attacks land on her, accelerating the disintegration of her half-face, continuing to laugh that ugly laugh.
“Haha, hahaha, hahahaha!”
Listening to Anna Medias’s increasingly manic laughter, not just Liyami and the others, but even Kolin couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
“Haha! Good! Fine! Since you’re so determined to break my face, then let me show you what’s underneath this face!!!”
With that, under everyone’s horrified gazes, Anna Medias used her remaining left hand to forcibly tear off the already crumbling half of her face!
As the last fragment of skin covering Anna Medias’s face fell away, a massive surge of mana erupted from her face, now filled with black mist. At that moment, everyone knew what she was planning.
She was going to self-destruct! Knowing there was no way out and she had already lost, she chose to detonate all her remaining mana at once—to take Kolin and the others down with her!
