Yisela’s fan didn’t even register in Kaxiu’s eyes—his attention was locked entirely on Dongfang Jiang.
He flexed his newly grown arm and grinned viciously at the man before him.
“Heh, your control is strong, but you’ve been using it for so long. Your energy must be almost empty, right?”
Kaxiu, having converted the Blazing Sun energy of the Badan Family into his own, felt fantastic.
He instantly appeared in front of Dongfang Jiang and threw a punch.
But the moment his fist connected, no blood splattered onto him.
Instead, his fist kept sinking deeper into Dongfang Jiang’s body.
‘What the hell?!’
Kaxiu’s energy exploded, blasting everything at the Dongfang Jiang in front of him.
The man transformed into yellow desert energy, which wrapped around Kaxiu’s feet like quicksand, trapping them tightly.
While his feet were bound, Dongfang Jiang’s figure suddenly appeared in front of Kaxiu, longsword in hand, slashing toward his face.
The Valen Ring on Kaxiu’s hand flared to life, and several massive orbs shot toward the Dongfang Jiang in front of him—but they simply passed right through him, not hitting their mark at all.
‘Will this ever end?’
Before Kaxiu could finish his complaint, Dongfang Jiang’s attack came again.
Kaxiu conjured a lotus and hurled it at him.
But this Dongfang Jiang was another illusion.
The killing move Kaxiu had prepared was effortlessly tricked out of him by Dongfang Jiang and Yisela.
Realizing he was caught in an illusion, Kaxiu grew agitated.
This time, Yisela’s magic was different from before.
Her illusion deceived all five of his senses.
His mind knew the Dongfang Jiang in front of him was fake, but he couldn’t find a single flaw.
Meanwhile, Yisela pressed close to Dongfang Jiang, who held her in his arms.
Kaxiu’s judgment was correct—after some fighting, Dongfang Jiang’s energy had dropped to half.
If he kept fighting head-on the same way, he’d likely gain no advantage.
So when he saw Yisela use the Mirage Shadow to create illusions for Kaxiu, Dongfang Jiang changed tactics.
He Harmonized his energy to heal and recharge Yisela.
With Dongfang Jiang as her backing, Yisela unleashed her full potential, throwing one obstacle after another at Kaxiu.
Whenever one “Dongfang Jiang” attacked Kaxiu, another “Dongfang Jiang” would appear from an unexpected angle.
The real Dongfang Jiang, holding Yisela, stood steady on the hall’s statue.
Watching Kaxiu rampaging below, he rubbed his chin.
“Yisela, your illusion magic is amazing. Look at that Kaxiu—he’s like a clown. What do you think he’ll think when he wakes up and realizes he killed all his own men? Heh heh.”
Yisela leaned closer to Dongfang Jiang.
She watched Kaxiu going berserk on the ground, the Valen Ring on his finger flashing with frightening light.
But even that terrifying power couldn’t break free of her illusion.
When casting the spell, Yisela had used something small from Dongfang Jiang.
That mouthful of blood he’d spit onto the ground.
She’d repurposed it, never expecting it to work so effectively.
“Hmm, Dongfang, your blood is really something. Just one mouthful can block Kaxiu’s senses. If I used a syringe to draw a whole tube from your arm, could I put it to even greater use?”
Yisela looked at Dongfang Jiang half-jokingly.
He scratched his head and held out his arm.
“Just kidding~”
Seeing him obey so readily, Yisela felt an indescribable satisfaction inside.
The two of them stood on the statue, watching Kaxiu lose his mind below.
Finally, Kaxiu knocked out all the men he’d brought.
“Should I step in?”
Dongfang Jiang looked down at Kaxiu, who was left raging helplessly.
He turned to Yisela, still toying with the man, and pulled out his longsword.
“Not yet, Dongfang.”
Yisela watched Kaxiu on the ground intently—this wasn’t the best moment.
‘Damn it. I underestimated Yisela. Should have killed her first back then.’
After taking down dozens of “Dongfang Jiangs,” Kaxiu’s mind finally cleared.
He’d only wanted to flirt with Yisela because she was pretty.
He never expected to be toyed with so badly.
‘Tch. If I could create something like that Dongfang Jiang… ah, that’s it.’
Kaxiu remembered how Dongfang Jiang had broken the Moria Illusion.
He closed his eyes and bit down hard on his tongue.
The illusions before his eyes gradually faded.
He saw the bodies of his men lying scattered across the floor.
Then it hit him: Yisela had bewitched him into killing all of them.
Yisela noticed the blood trickling from Kaxiu’s mouth and knew she couldn’t fool his senses again for a while.
She turned to Dongfang Jiang apologetically.
“Not good. He did the same as you—bit his tongue.”
“Mm. Leave the rest to me.”
Dongfang Jiang patted Yisela’s head, jumped down from the statue, dusted himself off, and burst forward, tackling Kaxiu.
Before Kaxiu could react, he was sent flying several meters.
“Finally showing yourself?”
After rolling across the ground a few times, Kaxiu roared and instantly appeared before Dongfang Jiang.
Dongfang Jiang gripped his longsword and thrust three times in quick succession.
Kaxiu raised his right arm, blocking the strikes.
Using the Blazing Sun’s energy, Kaxiu healed all the wounds Dongfang Jiang had inflicted.
“Playing it that way?”
Watching Kaxiu’s wounds close rapidly, Dongfang Jiang put some distance between them.
The System’s voice entered his ears.
[Blazing Sun energy can heal one’s wounds. With the Valen Ring and having absorbed most of the Badan Family’s energy, Kaxiu can continuously restore his body.]
“Then I just need to drain all his energy, right?”
Dongfang Jiang understood the System’s meaning.
He knew how to fight Kaxiu now.
“Go ahead and try, Dongfang Jiang. Let’s see who runs out first—you or me.”
Kaxiu charged at Dongfang Jiang with a vicious grin.
Dongfang Jiang manipulated his longsword and launched his attack.
