Chapter 2: The Mentally Ill Sister

“I’m heading back now.”

Sister Jing pinched Su Ling’s little cheek.

“Yeah,” Su Ling nodded.

She watched Sister Jing’s graceful figure as she left, spacing out for a moment.

She glanced at her tattered phone; it was already 12:00 AM.

It was time to go back, or else Miao Miao would start worrying again.

With a soft sigh, Su Ling began packing her things.

Her mother was an alcoholic who lived every day in a muddle-headed daze.

To expect her to take care of her younger sister was nothing more than a pipe dream.

Fortunately, her deadbeat mother only drank and wasn’t abusive.

That was one of the few silver linings.

Su Ling’s heart stirred.

She thought of the 1,000 Sister Jing had given her, and a ripple of emotion rose within her.

“Yours is ready.”

The shop owner’s voice interrupted her thoughts.

Su Ling hurriedly took the food, thanked him, and tucked it into her shirt before walking toward her home.

The group of girls noticed Su Ling as well.

There was no helping it; with such outstanding looks and an eye-catching figure, it was hard for them not to notice her.

“Is she one, too?” the blue-haired girl asked, gnawing on a chicken bone.

“Yeah. I even sampled her services once before,” the black-haired girl beside her said, smacking her lips.

Just then, a petite figure walked out of the bedroom.

At the sound of the timid voice, Su Ling’s lips immediately curled upward.

“Miao Miao, were you good at home?”

Su Ling casually kicked away the wine bottles at her feet and rushed to the petite figure, pulling her into a tight hug.

Black hair and red eyes; she was small and cute.

Although her clothes were simple, they were very clean.

Her little face even had some baby fat, making her look extremely adorable.

Bai Miao, Su Ling’s younger sister.

Bai Miao’s scarlet eyes had no light in them.

The enticing aroma of the chicken leg filled the air.

But the expected cheer didn’t come.

Bai Miao stared toward Su Ling with her lifeless red eyes.

She forced a smile, even though Bai Miao couldn’t see it.

When the heavens stripped her of the right to see light, they had also opened other windows for her.
