This was all the memory Rita had up until now, but for some unknown reason, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t recall anything that happened afterward.
But just guessing, she could tell that maybe she had really been violated… maybe…
Rita glanced again at the Mysterious Blonde Girl still asleep beside her.
The girl murmured an indistinctly cute dream talk, completely different from how she acted last night when riding on her.
The loss of seductive aura, the memory lapse—these abnormal signs were definitely worth investigating, but not right now.
Rita knew that if she didn’t leave immediately, things would become even more dangerous than last night.
Besides, there was one important thing she had to do today—the very reason she came to this town.
She quietly climbed out of bed, and with a thought, her identity-revealing wings and tail vanished completely.
Outside, dawn had fully broken; she absolutely couldn’t fly out with wings like last night.
Luckily, she was staying in this inn herself, so she could openly walk through the corridor back to her room.
After confirming the blonde girl on the bed was still sound asleep, Rita pushed open the door.
The inn was quite spacious, but fortunately, when Rita had been hunting last night, she noticed that most of the nearby rooms were empty, so she didn’t have to be too careful.
She peeked left and right, making sure no one was in the corridor before stepping out.
Phew… it was good that this was a different world without surveillance cameras.
If it were like the inns back in her world, no amount of caution would have helped.
That’s right, Rita was not originally a resident of this world.
This was also the world of a game.
This game was the first independently developed Open World Fantasy Game by an indie developer.
The game took place in a setting…
Basically, it was the kind of fantasy world where a Monster Army clashed with the Human Kingdom in an ongoing war.
Long story short, she had boldly gone to the game’s official Guild Chat asking for resources—and got what she deserved.
Someone privately messaged Rita an installation package.
Excited, she installed and launched the game, when suddenly a line of text appeared on the screen:
“Support genuine games; beware of scams.”
Just a normal prompt—ignore it and skip.
Then everything went black, and a larger message filled her entire vision:
“I said support genuine games, beware of scams, Nierdoron?”
After that, she suddenly transformed from an ordinary young man into a silver-haired, red-eyed little Succubus with wings and a tail, appearing inside a castle she didn’t even recognize.
No system, no grandfather in a ring, no secret cheating items; only a group of strange humanoid women eyeing her oddly while swallowing hard.
Not just one, but many.
So before these strange women could make a move, Rita fled first.
Her escape took her all the way from the Demon Domain to human territory.
Though it sounds like a simple sentence, Rita had suffered immensely along the way, enduring hardship under the open sky.
Fortunately, the Succubus race trait made hiding easier: wings and tail could be retracted, and she bore no weird pink Stigma on her body, so she aroused no suspicion.
But the biggest problem was food—ordinary meals couldn’t satisfy her hunger.
To fill her stomach, she had to get close to others.
Yes, that kind of closeness without which survival was impossible.
This was no Succubus at all! It was obviously the author swapping the name to avoid censorship.
Succubus or Succubus, Rita had finally escaped thousands of miles to this place, and she couldn’t just give up now.
Pretending to casually stroll the corridor in the early morning, Rita brazenly crossed the hall toward her room.
Suddenly, a voice came from behind her, making her shudder.
“Excuse me, young guest, what are you doing here so early?”
Rita turned to see the Innkeeper standing at the stairwell’s corner, holding a mop.
Though the middle-aged woman was still polite, there was suspicion on her face.
“Your room isn’t in this direction, is it?”
Rita’s mind raced, but she calmly adopted a polite yet matter-of-fact expression.
“I didn’t sleep well last night, so I’m just taking a walk. After all, today is the day of the test.”
Hearing the emphasis on “test,” the Innkeeper seemed to recall something, suddenly changing her attitude by 180 degrees.
The suspicion on her face disappeared quickly, replaced by a flattering smile.
“Oh, oh, I remember now! You’re that lone young lady who came from afar to take the Holy Knight Exam! Ah, it’s only natural to be nervous and have trouble sleeping…”
Though Rita was still an ordinary person, the Innkeeper knew that anyone qualified for the Holy Knight Exam either had some background or special skills.
Either way, this wasn’t someone the Innkeeper could afford to offend.
Rita appeared unhurried but was inwardly anxious that the Mysterious Blonde Girl might wake up.
She had no intention of wasting time with the Innkeeper, so she casually replied and quickly left.
After Rita’s figure disappeared from sight, the Innkeeper hid her flattering smile and wore a troubled expression, muttering to herself.
“The rooms in that direction should only belong to the Mysterious Guest… No, maybe I’m overthinking it.”
Some time later, after freshening up, Rita arrived at the Holy Knight Selection Venue.
Now, her appearance was completely different from the Succubus outfit she had worn at night.
Her silver hair, loose now, was tied back into a simple ponytail with a black ribbon.
She wore a neat, brand-new leather armor, and a gleaming new Iron Sword hung at her waist—looking every bit like a well-trained soldier.
Except for herself, no one would likely associate her with the word Succubus.
A Succubus taking the Holy Knight Exam—if anyone heard that, they probably wouldn’t believe it.
The exam venue was set in the city’s central square.
Though it was still early, many people had already gathered nearby.
Most of them were candidates; ordinary citizens wouldn’t be waiting in the square at dawn carrying swords.
As time passed, the candidates grew in number and began to form an orderly line.
When the sun was nearly overhead, someone in the crowd whispered.
“Shh, the Main Examiner is here.”
The previously noisy crowd instantly fell silent, all eyes focusing on the raised platform in the square’s center.
The Main Examiner stepped onto the freshly laid Red Carpet and slowly ascended the platform.
Rita followed the gazes of the others toward the front, but when she saw the petite figure standing there, her mind felt as if it had been struck by a heavy hammer, going utterly blank.
Though the attire was different, that signature golden hair and doll-like exquisite face—Rita could never mistake it.
That person!
Wasn’t this the Mysterious Blonde Girl who had been lying next to her this morning?!
