“Then just write this name.” The Faceless Witch didn’t notice anything wrong.
The Demon Sword Maiden signed the contract with the three large characters: Name of Killing Sword.
“Heh, welcome to the Demon God Academy.” The Faceless Witch’s expression changed the moment she saw the signature, losing all the politeness she had shown before.
The pitch-black carriage slowly came to a halt, and the door automatically opened, letting in a gust of damp wind.
The Demon Sword Maiden and the Faceless Witch stepped out together.
They arrived at a solitary lighthouse standing alone on an island in the Black Sea.
“You’ll guard this tower for me temporarily. I’ll come back to pick you up when school starts,” the Faceless Witch said coldly.
“Lady Witch, I still don’t know your name,” the Demon Sword Maiden asked.
“You’re oddly calm. Usually, when little Demonic Beasts are brought here, they cry and scream,” the Faceless Witch smiled wryly. “Should I say you’re heartless, or just too foolish?”
“I’m grateful to you. This place looks safe,” the Demon Sword Maiden said.
“You can call me Faceless,” the Faceless Witch said. “I hope I don’t come back to find a corpse.”
With that, she turned into a black mist and slipped back into the carriage. The entire carriage dissolved into black fog, leaving the Demon Sword Maiden alone at the lighthouse in the sea.
She knew that the Demon God Academy’s enrollment contracts were divided into two types: one called the Contract of Gods and Demons, and the other called the Beast Contract.
What she had signed was obviously the second kind—in fact, it was an Indenture Contract.
She was entering the academy as a Low-Class Beast, provided for the use of High-Class Demonic Beasts.
Signing the contract meant handing over her life to the witches who founded the academy.
The Contract of Gods and Demons, protected by a Fair Contract, was only available to Demonic Beasts with strong talent or descendants of advanced races.
But it didn’t matter; she hadn’t signed with her true name, so the contract had no binding force over her.
Of course, she had a name—her true name was Slayer Demon Sword Phoenix.
Since she had just been reborn, that name couldn’t be used for now. She needed to take a girl’s name.
“Feini Rose,” the Demon Sword Maiden whispered.
A brand-new life in a different world awaited her.
Feini entered the lonely lighthouse and looked around. There were a few strips of dried meat hanging inside, a wooden bed, and a mirror. Other than that, there was nothing else.
Naturally, she went to the mirror first to see her new appearance after reincarnation.
She was 1.6 meters tall, with hair 1.5 meters long. Her black hair flowed like a waterfall—it was her distinctive feature.
As for her body, it could only be described as skin and bones—long arms and legs, perfectly proportioned, but severely malnourished, looking very pitiful.
With her disheveled hair and pale, colorless skin, she could be described in two words: Sadako.
However, she retained the most famous reinterpretation of Sadako’s image.
She brushed aside her bangs to reveal a delicate and cute face, instantly dispelling the gloomy and terrifying ghostly aura.
“Hehe, as expected, as long as the face is pretty, all the flaws become advantages,” she chuckled, feeling emotional. “An introverted girl, penniless and starting from scratch.”
But Feini soon realized she wasn’t penniless nor starting from zero…
After living in the lighthouse for a few days, Feini noticed her belly gradually swelling.
“Pregnant? Me? A proud manly man… crossing over and immediately having to give birth?”
She lay on the wooden bed, touching her swollen belly in disbelief.
But since she was bored, she could only fish every day. There was no way fishing could cause pregnancy, right?
Could it be…
Before she could think further, the sound of carriage wheels came from outside the door.
“Bang!”
The Faceless Witch barged in, immediately shocked upon seeing Feini’s swollen belly.
Before Feini could say anything, the Faceless Witch threw a large bundle at her, hitting her face.
Feini opened the package and found a set of Western-style school uniforms, some school-related documents, and an Academy Introduction Booklet.
“Pack up and get ready for school,” the Faceless Witch said coldly.
“Do I have to go to school in this state?” Feini asked, her face turning pale.
“I don’t care,” the Faceless Witch said. “You signed the contract. You must attend school.”
Feini said nothing and obediently put on the clothes. She knew she was just a plaything for others; her life didn’t matter.
A white shirt, a blazer, a pleated skirt, black stockings, and leather shoes—a classic school uniform.
But when she wore it, her belly was still exposed and looked awkward.
“Change into this one,” the Faceless Witch said, scanning her up and down before summoning an oversized white shirt, long enough to be like a dress.
“Thank you,” Feini said, finally able to cover her belly with the shirt meant for someone much bigger.
“You’re a Weapon Armor Type, right? Is your race viviparous? Who’s the father?” the Faceless Witch asked.
“I don’t know,” Feini shook her head.
“Quite promiscuous,” the Faceless Witch said. “I need to give you a proper enrollment name.”
“I thought of a good name—Feini Rose,” Feini answered.
“Hmm, not bad taste,” the Faceless Witch registered her name on the records. “Congratulations. You won’t have to live here anymore. You can move into the High-Class Girls’ Dormitory we arranged for you. We won’t come back anymore. Take all your belongings with you.”
What belongings did Feini have? Only a Skeleton Ragged Cloak, a Fishing Rod, and a Bag of Mineral Ash.
“Do you eat very little?” the Faceless Witch asked.
“I’m a Weapon Armor Type. I don’t eat normal food. I eat minerals and metals,” Feini said.
“In that case, you’re on your own,” the Faceless Witch said. “There won’t be any rare materials for you to eat.”
With that, the Faceless Witch took Feini back onto the void black carriage, leaving the lighthouse behind.
—————
In the blink of an eye, they arrived at the sunlit school gates.
On the clean white brick road, many boys and girls in neat School Uniforms were heading to the classroom buildings—like something straight out of an anime depicting a noble academy.
Such places surely existed in reality, but not for someone as ordinary as her to enter.
The pitch-black carriage stopped by the roadside and let Feini off.
“Good luck. Study the Academy Handbook well. Hopefully, we’ll meet again,” the Faceless Witch said perfunctorily, then disappeared along with the carriage.
After she left, Feini immediately obediently took out the handbook to read.
“School Rule One: No revealing your Original Form at will.”
“School Rule Two: Private fights are prohibited, duels are allowed.”
“…The pressure is immense.”
