[Celebrating the finale!]
[It’s not over yet!]
[Is this the new OP?]
[The auto-skip failed!]
Episode Thirteen opened with a roar.
The metalcore OP made Jiang Jian Yue’s eyes light up — or rather, her ears?
The OP had changed.
At the end of the century before last and the start of the last, heavy music was common in Japanese anime.
However, by the middle of this current era, while there were still heavy OPs occasionally, they were nowhere near as numerous as they used to be.
Looking at the negative comments about the extreme vocals in the bullet comments, it was clear that young people these days really didn’t like these “old things” anymore — even if metalcore was considered quite “mild” to actual old-school heavy metal fans.
The newest and trendiest thing had to be J-pop with rap.
It wasn’t that she had a prejudice against rap, but the Japanese pop charts on Jiang Jian Yue’s mobile phone music app were filled with it.
She was getting a bit tired of it.
It was as if modern Japanese people didn’t know how to write songs without including rap.
Akimoto Miki stood behind the computer chair, carefully styling a new hairstyle for the Missy.
There was a banquet tonight, primarily a celebration for the GSAC being held on time.
It was an event organized by the Japanese Government, and many socialites and celebrities would be attending.
As the supreme Leader of DRG Japan, it was time for Jiang Jian Yue to step out from behind the scenes and onto the stage.
If she kept operating through puppets like Father did, she would eventually flip the car because “the soldiers didn’t know their general.”
“Missy.”
Akimoto Miki trimmed Jiang Jian Yue’s messy long hair and asked casually, “Why are you always staring at a black screen, Missy?”
Finally, someone had asked that question.
The explanation she had prepared for nearly a year was finally going to be put to use.
Jiang Jian Yue temporarily looked away from the battle-damaged Yuki Asahi in the OP and said expressionlessly, ‘I am thinking.’
Well, that excuse obviously wasn’t worth preparing for a year.
But who was Akimoto Miki?
As the number three figure of Jiang Jian Apartment, she naturally trusted any explanation the Missy gave without question.
Jiang Jian Yue returned her attention to the OP.
What caught her eye was the collective appearance of several factions.
First was the Curtain Cluster.
Among them were familiar faces like Shiying and Kokoro, but the center position wasn’t theirs.
Instead, it was occupied by a middle-aged man wearing white gloves and glasses that reflected the light.
[The Commander?]
[It’s Madao!]
Then came the Saints.
Because the fat otaku who had appeared before in the “watching anime within an anime” scene was there, they were confirmed to be the Saints.
The center position was a woman with an incredible amount of hair, a large chest, and a bodybuilder’s physique.
She had brownish-red hair, and behind the Saints, the silhouette of something massive loomed.
[She could kill me with one punch.]
[She’s covered in solid muscle!]
To Jiang Jian Yue’s surprise, the GPRI remnant Dream Serpent, who had appeared previously, was also among them…
The mole… was found just like that?
There were way too many spoilers!
Jiang Jian Yue suddenly felt that it was all a bit dull.
She even felt like calling the Special Response HQ right now to have them deal with it.
However, on second thought, she didn’t have any evidence yet, so she decided to wait.
The third to appear were The Light Extinguishers.
Old acquaintances Long Yin and Beiye, the suspected “homo” duo, made an appearance.
The center position was a blonde man in a trench coat, wearing an evil spirit Face Mask.
In the background, the femboy version of Jiang Jian Yue had his arms spread wide.
The cloth bandages on his face were falling off, yet his eyes remained closed.
The Shock Core in his chest emitted a bright light.
As expected, that thing seemed more important than the ownership of Japan.
The number of people with Heart Worm awakenings was increasing faster and faster lately, and Jiang Jian Yue suspected they were the ones behind it.
After all, with the function of the Shock Core, it was hard not to think in that direction.
The fourth scene featured mostly strangers, clearly divided into three groups.
In the bottom left, there were five people; four had buzz cuts, and one was a girl with silver-bright hair and golden eyes.
[Peak Jiang Jian Yue!]
[Don’t call everything Emi!]
[That hair color isn’t even the same shade, hey!]
In the bottom right, there were five people, and a blonde woman with a great figure in a tight suit caught everyone’s attention.
[Cammy is here too!]
At the top, there were only two people.
One was the Emergent Body Nikolai who had escaped in the OVA, facing the camera.
Standing back-to-back with him was a tall man in an old Soviet military uniform.
He likely had a connection to the 10003 Unit.
Suddenly, the screen was torn open by a sharp sword, looking as if the entire frame had been sliced.
The familiar Blood-red Pupils occupied the entire screen.
The camera zoomed out rapidly with a distortion effect, revealing two rows of DRG members kneeling on either side.
At the focal point of their gaze, Jiang Jian Yue sat on a luxurious Chair that resembled a throne.
Her elbow rested on the armrest as she propped up her face with one hand.
Her expression was cold, and her pupils were lowered slightly, as if she were looking down at the Audience in front of the screen from a position of superiority.
[The aura is maxed out.]
[Brothers, I’m hard.]
[Give us more of this look!]
[This doesn’t match the cute Emi Jiang from the main show at all!]
— Where was she cute?
As the OP reached the pre-chorus, Jiang Jian Yue descended from the throne.
In a few steps, she reached a curtain that looked like a theater backdrop.
Hanging on the curtain were headshots of everyone who had appeared in the OP earlier.
[The doxing genius, Jiang Jian Yue.]
[Does she have the script?]
— Pretty much.
Jiang Jian Yue looked as if she were about to lift the curtain, but instead, she tore down the entire blood-colored fabric.
All the photos attached to it fell, and the OP reached its most high-spirited, clean-vocal chorus.
The battle scenes of the friends from the Supernatural Club appeared in sequence, followed by Special Response HQ Unit 1, and then the members of the Southern Cross.
Some bullet comments noticed the “Jiang Jian Yue” using the Pale Gray Flame.
[Did I see that wrong?]
[Is that a drawing error?]
[The animation must have messed up.]
Yuanming! That isn’t me at all!
“Pfft, hee hee.”
Meiguan couldn’t help but start laughing again.
She seemingly really thought Jiang Jian Yue cared about her chest size.
Hmph!
That kind of thing would only interfere with my combat!
The OP finally ended with a shot of Yuki Asahi soaked in rain, looking up at something.
[My volume!]
[T bro? wtf?]
[Parachute successful!]
[Thanks to the command center.]
[Nothing special, just practiced.]
The opening of this episode didn’t immediately follow Mizuki Hoshi turning into a fat otaku from the last one.
Instead, it quickly glossed over Kotaro’s story.
Of course, the scene of her picking him was included.
[The Ability I want most has appeared!]
[+1]
[But you have to re-roll your Ability after a Chantui, right?]
[What is Emi thinking? If this got out, wouldn’t it cause a massive flame war online?]
Does DRG even care about a little flame war?
[I feel like I’m looking in a Mirror.]
[No, you aren’t that lucky.]
Mizuki Hoshi was clearly not suited for the idol industry — at least, not back then.
[Might as well just kick her. Four is better than five.]
[Hoshi-chan is the core of the team!]
[Not anymore.]
The addition of Kazuki Hanatsubame brought a qualitative change to the Southern Cross, which had been full of amateur trainees.
However, the Quiet Dream incense was mentioned once more during the episode.
Hiss…
Could it be implying something?
The following plot showed Mizuki Hoshi’s hard training, along with some daily life scenes of the two new members of the Southern Cross.
Finally, during one of Mizuki Hoshi’s hellish weight-loss training sessions, Yuki Asahi appeared and spoke with Mark — although the timeline was a bit off, it wasn’t a major issue.
Next was Yuki Asahi’s stat showcase time.
[The monk who got sent flying by the iron fist be like…]
[To be fair, Yuki hasn’t started a Live Broadcast yet.]
[In all of Japan, can they only find these weirdos?]
The final bit of time before the mid-episode transition was given to the Special Response HQ.
A staff member was reporting a hostile force injury incident in an underground shelter to the Minister.
The person initially identified was Jiang Jian Yue, but that possibility was later ruled out.
This incident resulted in one member of the Curtain Cluster going missing and several others being injured.
The name and Ability information of the missing person were also provided to the Audience.
[This is the person who harassed Mizuki Hoshi, right?]
[Is the Curtain Cluster so out of work that they have to bully a little girl?]
[Where is the little girl? I only see a serving of plump braised pork.]
Jiang Jian Yue had thought the Chongzhong would provide a follow-up on that Ability user entering this computer.
Because of the unique nature of this computer, she could naturally conclude that Yu Shirakawa had definitely gone to the real-world plane.
“You could even guess that?”
Meiguan suddenly cried out in surprise.
She then realized she had misspoke and quickly shut her mouth.
“It would be weird if I couldn’t, wouldn’t it?”
Jiang Jian Yue became even more certain of her conclusion.
Only… the fact that Yu Shirakawa hadn’t returned meant he was trapped in the other world.
“Heh heh…”
Meiguan suddenly let out a few unprompted chuckles.
This eerie laughter caused Jiang Jian Yue to instantly pivot her thinking.
Based on Meiguan’s reaction, her conclusion was wrong.
It was definitely not as simple as him not coming back.
Could he be dead?
Does he have a connection with the Cuiyue who appeared in the Special Response HQ’s underground shelter?
If that “Cuiyue” was related to the Costume Cuiyue of the real-world plane, then Yu Shirakawa must have come into contact with the Cuiyue account, and then something unexpected happened.
“Dammit…”
Meiguan finally realized that Jiang Jian Yue was deducing information through her reactions and fell into a complete silence.
“Meiguan, even if you don’t speak, you’re still a sieve.”
Jiang Jian Yue deliberately tried to provoke Meiguan, but since she was now on guard, it didn’t work.
She might as well keep watching the anime.
Jiang Jian Yue returned her gaze to the screen, but then her chin was suddenly tilted upward.
Akimoto Miki was about to apply her makeup.
“You suit a colder, more glamorous look, Missy, but that would be too sharp. It’s not suitable for tonight’s occasion.”
Akimoto Miki placed a small Mirror on the table, thoughtfully making sure not to block the screen where Jiang Jian Yue was “thinking.”
Her fingers lightly brushed over the jars and bottles in the makeup box as she quickly constructed a plan in her mind to neutralize the Missy’s facial lines.
“For the base, let’s go with this CPB Refining Radiance Cream Foundation.”
“The eyebrows can’t be too arched. If they are, you’ll look more aggressive.”
“The eye makeup is the focus… after all, your red eyes make people think of vampires too easily.”
“Add a little bit of aegyo sal…”
“Next is the key to ‘giving life.'”
“Finally, the lips.”
“Too red will make you look like you just ate someone; too light won’t hold the stage.”
“And then… these Red Veins on your neck and back. This is going to take several kilograms of concealer.”
“There, all done, Missy.”
Akimoto Miki put down the makeup brush with satisfaction and adjusted the angle of the mirror.
Reflected in the mirror was a young girl.
Her pale gray hair was smoothly pinned behind her head.
Her red pupils, framed by warm brown eye makeup, lost some of their bloodiness and gained the magnificence and depth of rubies.
The perfectly placed blush and the dewy lip color made her look more like an elegant and reserved lady from a prestigious family.
This is what the Missy should look like!
Jiang Jian Yue propped up her chin and looked into the mirror, nodding with great satisfaction.
Elegant!
That Antagonist in the OP who wanted to scheme against everyone definitely isn’t me.
