“What do you need?”
The Great Artisan God remained silent, not speaking, but instead looked at Qiansitelin beside him.
Even though Muxuan and Qiansitelin hadn’t mentioned it, the Great Artisan God could still guess why they were in such a hurry to build the Holy City.
The Watkan tribe had originally lived in the Kostershka Mountains.
Although they were underground, that didn’t mean they were completely ignorant of the outside world.
The expansion of the Elven Forest had once been a concern of theirs.
It was just that the goblin problem in the Kostershka Mountains was clearly more serious.
Now that the entire Watkan tribe belonged to the Church, the Great Artisan God’s focus had shifted.
To build the Holy City, they would need some materials that could only be obtained from the Elven Forest.
“Natural Morning Dew, Fertile Soil… and a branch of the Elf Holy Tree.”
Hearing the three items listed by the Great Artisan God, Qiansitelin fell silent for a moment.
Her brow furrowed slightly, and a troubled expression appeared on her face.
Muxuan didn’t know what the first two items were, but hearing “Holy Tree” and seeing Qiansitelin’s expression, it wasn’t hard to guess where they would need to go.
“And the rest?”
The Great Artisan God shook his head slightly, then put down the charcoal pencil, his voice tinged with helplessness.
“The other materials are easy to get. It’s just these three—we can’t obtain them.”
His words fell like a heavy hammer, making the air grow even more silent.
Qiansitelin frowned deeply, a solemn look flashing in her golden eyes.
She clearly understood what these three things meant.
Muxuan’s gaze flickered between the Great Artisan God and Qiansitelin, before finally settling on the Great Artisan God.
“Great Artisan God, you must have investigated the state of the Elven Forest, right? This…”
The Great Artisan God hesitated for a moment, without any intention of hiding anything.
“I did send some tribesmen to investigate.”
“In the end, I could only reach one conclusion… it’s very strange, and also very dangerous.”
Recalling the situation at the time, the Great Artisan God paused, his fingers rubbing the edge of the table repeatedly, a complex look flashing in his eyes.
“Everything inside the Elven Forest seemed normal, as if nothing had happened. The tribesmen I sent had all lived inside the Elven Forest for some time.”
“It was as if the entire forest was isolating all the strange factors from the outside, keeping the inside uncontaminated. The tribesmen I sent even drank wine that was over a hundred years old while in the Elven Forest.”
Qiansitelin’s expression shifted slightly, and she joked, “Sounds pretty good?”
But the Great Artisan God shook his head.
“It does sound good, but getting out once you’re in is not easy.”
“Over twenty tribesmen went in, and only one came out.”
“And even after he came out, he kept wanting to go back.”
“It was as if there was something there that he cared about deeply… and within less than three days, that tribesman’s entire body turned into withered vines and lost all life.”
At this, Qiansitelin could no longer maintain her smile.
“A strong addictiveness that made the other tribesmen unwilling to come back? That situation is indeed serious. But… are you sure they couldn’t get out, rather than the Elven Forest not letting them out?”
Staring into Qiansitelin’s eyes, the Great Artisan God’s expression didn’t change.
He let out another heavy sigh.
“They also turned into withered vines along the way.”
Seeing that Qiansitelin wanted to say something more, the Great Artisan God quickly interrupted her and took the initiative to explain.
“It was only after some tribesmen had turned into withered vines that they panicked and thought of leaving.”
“That place… is like a paradise.”
“No matter who enters, they won’t want to leave. Compared to the Black Mist, the strange phenomena, and the harsh environment outside, it’s simply heaven.”
“It’s a lot like the Church now… After feeling the warmth here, many tribesmen have come to love this place full of Light, and they’re glad they followed me to move to the Church.”
Muxuan, who had been silent all along, lifted her head slightly, a hint of confusion flashing in her golden pupils.
“Great Artisan God, the inside appears normal, but the Elven Forest is still expanding?”
The Great Artisan God nodded lightly.
Seeing him confirm this, Muxuan decided not to ask about the Elven Forest’s strangeness.
Instead, she asked what the inside of the Elven Forest was like now.
“The Gold Elves went extinct after the destruction of the Magic Era in the Fourth Era. That’s true even inside the Elven Forest.”
“The main leaders there are the Silver Moon Elves, but they’re divided into multiple factions. As for what that’s like, I’m not too clear.”
“However, Your Highness, there’s a magic academy that has existed since the Fourth Era. I think you might find it interesting.”
The Great Artisan God stopped, asked Qiansitelin for another piece of parchment, then quickly picked up the charcoal pencil and wrote rapidly on it.
“One of my tribesmen tried to enter that magic academy and showed a very high elemental affinity, so he was admitted to this academy called Saint Delosia Magic Academy.”
“Your Highness, elves are a long-lived race, far outliving us. It’s normal for them to be several thousand years old. But one thing that isn’t normal is that the academy’s headmaster is Laigelasi, who was already two thousand years old at the beginning of the Sixth Era.”
Hearing the Great Artisan God’s words, Qiansitelin exclaimed in surprise.
“That’s clearly abnormal! His age is over eighteen thousand years old!”
“Even if elves are a long-lived race, they can’t compare to the Blood Clan!”
“By all logic, the maximum age for an elf is eleven thousand six hundred years old!”
“Do you mean… this Laigelasi might have a problem?”
Muxuan was also shocked inside.
‘Living that long… I’ve really never heard of it. Both of my lives combined only add up to a few decades?’
‘Tch… completely incomparable.’
“Yes.”
“But if he has a problem, why bring up the magic academy?”
Qiansitelin was a little confused.
‘Why mention some lousy magic academy, and say his tribesman has high elemental affinity and got enrolled or something?’
‘I feel like he’s showing off, but I can’t prove it.’
“Because he is the headmaster of that magic academy.”
Immediately, Qiansitelin’s face darkened.
‘This guy is definitely doing it on purpose!’
Seeing the Great Artisan God say this with such a straight face, Qiansitelin got even more annoyed.
Watching them like this from the side, Muxuan couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.
“Then let’s just avoid that academy!”
Qiansitelin said irritably.
But the Great Artisan God still wore that heavy expression and shook his head.
“No. The reason I bring it up is that the magic academy is built on top of the Elf Holy Tree…”
“If we want to go there, that’s the only chance to come into contact with the Elf Holy Tree.”
“What’s the use of that? We might not even go! The problem of turning into withered vines hasn’t been solved yet! Why are you talking about this?”
As if she was getting into a spat with the Great Artisan God, Qiansitelin immediately retorted.
“Alright… Qiansitelin.”
Muxuan couldn’t bear to watch any longer and quickly pulled Qiansitelin back.
The Great Artisan God’s voice came calmly.
“It’s Your Highness who makes the decision, not you. And I’m just providing information that might be needed.”
