When she saw Chen Xiaoyan so obediently following Mu Qingxue and leaving her behind, it was impossible not to be angry. She was angry that Chen Xiaoyan listened to that woman so much.
She had already made up her mind to ignore her for a few days as a punishment. But seeing her Penguin Message, she still couldn’t hold back.
When she saw Chen Xiaoyan rushing down in a panic, it was impossible not to be happy. She was happy that Chen Xiaoyan cared about her so much.
She had originally decided to put on a stern face to let Chen Xiaoyan know she was truly angry. But with her sudden rough treatment, before she could even react, she had fallen into her arms.
Was she angry?
No.
She had never truly been angry.
Not to mention, hearing the tension in her voice toward Sanyue Buxiaxue made her heart feel sweet; how could there be any anger left?
She just leaned quietly against her chest, eyes closed, feeling it. Bathed in that faint scent of peach blossoms, if it were possible, it felt as if this moment was eternity.
But.
There was one thing that still needed to be said.
“Sister Xiaoyan’s chest is really quite small,” Chongchong muttered softly with a silly grin on her face.
But she might have forgotten one thing. They were inside the car, and the two were leaning so close together. No matter how much her voice was like a mosquito’s buzz, it could still be heard.
Silence….
The surrounding air became eerily quiet.
Sanyue Buxiaxue’s mouth hung open in an “O” shape as she glanced at Chongchong. She truly hadn’t expected this younger sister to have such courage.
Although the words weren’t wrong, saying them to the person’s face was a display of commendable bravery.
Time to slip away.
Sanyue Buxiaxue quietly returned to the first car, preparing to get the temporary Medical Box.
Although it wasn’t a major issue, disinfection and bandaging were still necessary. At the same time, she wanted to escape the impending storm. She had already noticed that Chen Xiaoyan’s expression was looking very grim.
With a “thwack,” Chongchong clutched her head and looked at her with a puzzled expression.
“Why did you hit me?”
“Does it hurt?” Chen Xiaoyan glared at her and asked coldly.
“Of course it hurts!”
Chen Xiaoyan laughed, a look of disdain on her face. “So you do know what pain is? When you were punching that car window earlier, did you think about whether it would hurt then?”
Chongchong lowered her head aggrievedly. “I was just so angry!”
“Even if you’re angry, you can’t act in a way that hurts yourself, do you understand?”
She turned her head away and replied in an extremely resentful tone, “Seeing Sister Xiaoyan follow Mu Qingxue’s words so obediently… I couldn’t control myself.”
Chen Xiaoyan laughed in spite of herself upon hearing this and gave the girl’s head a good rub. “You little brat, you’re such a jealous kitten. Qingxue really had something to do. I went straight back to the room, and she didn’t come with me.”
“Really?” Chongchong looked up at her, her small hands nervously twisting together in front of her chest.
“Is there any need for me to lie to you? Or do you not trust me?”
“No, no, no,” Chongchong quickly shook her head and said, “Of course I believe you, Sister Xiaoyan. I just meant, since Mu Qingxue didn’t go back with you, where did she go?”
“She went to find the landlady.”
“The landlady?” Her large eyes were filled with confusion. What was that woman doing looking for Sister Xiaoyan’s landlady?
“Mhm, Qingxue wants to buy this Apartment.”
Hearing this, Chongchong couldn’t help but find it a bit funny and immediately said, “What’s the use of buying this Apartment? Is money really just—” Before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly realized a problem and took a deep breath.
The problem was this:
Sister Xiaoyan lives here!!!
Now, that woman’s goal in buying the Apartment was as clear as day; her intentions were obvious to everyone.
Damn it!
Chongchong shook her fist in frustration. Why hadn’t she thought of this move? She’d been beaten to the punch. How infuriating!
“What is it? Why so surprised?” While Chen Xiaoyan asked, she didn’t forget to rub the girl’s head again. Although the feeling wasn’t as comfortable as in the game, it wasn’t bad.
“Oh, Sister Xiaoyan! Why do you like rubbing my head so much in real life too? Don’t you know that stops people from growing tall?” Chongchong grumbled angrily.
Chen Xiaoyan was amused by her words and said helplessly, “You still believe that rumor? It’s as ridiculous as that old one about pregnancy from holding hands.”
She thought about adding that only an idiot would believe it, but seeing the girl’s puffed-up cheeks, she figured saying it would definitely set off the powder keg. Better not.
Chongchong gave her a fierce look and let out a huff, “I don’t care! If you rub my hair again, I’ll bite you!”
After saying that, she even poked Chen Xiaoyan’s forehead and pressed, “Did you hear me?”
Chen Xiaoyan shook her head, striking a fearless pose. Then, a reply came in the form of three words: “I did not.”
Chongchong was still rejoicing that some kind soul was speaking up for her. However, the voice, etched into her DNA, made her react instantly. Her eyes turned toward the outside of the car in shock.
There was Mu Qingxue, arms crossed, a faint smile on her face, looking down at her. That haughty gaze was as if she were looking at a buffoon.
“Urgh.” Chongchong was so startled she let out a hiccup.
She didn’t know why she was so afraid; it was as if she had been caught doing something wrong, leaving her feeling inexplicably guilty.
Seeing this, Chen Xiaoyan sighed in her heart.
Sigh, this omnipresent Shura Field.
In the future, when a third person is around, it’s best not to start this kind of trouble. Who knows if they might suddenly turn dark, adopting a mentality of “if I can’t have it, I’ll destroy it.”
Cough, cough, that’s probably not possible.
Whether it was Chongchong, Mu Qingxue, or even Liu Yue, none of them seemed like that kind of person.
However, she still needed to be careful.
