Early the next morning.
Vivian dragged Yize out of bed bright and early.
For one reason only: to eat.
Yize helplessly accompanied Vivian to the guild restaurant.
That was right— after joining the Night Raid team, they also got employee meal discounts at the guild.
Vivian ate with her eyes half-closed, clearly quite satisfied with the food, temporarily putting aside her dissatisfaction with Yize for “abandoning his teammates.”
Yize ate relatively calmly, still thinking about the midday teleportation in his mind.
‘I wonder if that Luke guy has put the Kamen Rider Transformation Device and the one-time portal to good use…’
He just hoped Luke wouldn’t let something slip and trace the origin of those items back to him.
The main thing was the one-time portal, which connected to Starlight Academy.
If the Empire’s Administration Office discovered that he had set up so many teleportation points around Starlight Academy, it would probably cause considerable trouble.
Anyway, he had given Luke everything that could save his life.
And those few magic potions—as long as you didn’t die, you could instantly revive with full mana and health, plus gain bonuses like Magic Boost, Spirit Power Boost, Constitution Boost, Speed Boost… all sorts of buffs.
Besides, the main character group was all in Betty Territory.
And the “male lead” was present too—didn’t he still have his trump card unused?
If they couldn’t hold out against that, it would really be inexcusable.
At least the main characters all had their plot armor, right?
Just as Vivian finished her Nth slice of meat-stuffed bread and licked her lips contentedly, a hearty laugh accompanied by footsteps came from the staircase.
“Hahaha! No way, Lailong, you actually recruited two newbies?”
“And you couldn’t even beat them?”
“Our Night Raid team hasn’t had new members in a long time!”
“I’ve really got to see these two newcomers for myself.”
The first to step onto the terrace was a woman.
She was extremely tall and voluptuous, easily over six feet, wearing a leather vest and pants for easy movement.
But the tight fabric outlined breathtaking curves, especially her chest, which was impressively large and swayed slightly with her steps.
Her somewhat stiff blond hair was tied back in a neat ponytail.
Her wheat-colored skin radiated a healthy glow, and her features were bright and bold.
A pair of blue eyes held undisguised curiosity and eager anticipation.
Right behind her came a young girl.
She looked younger, around sixteen or seventeen, wearing an exquisite mage robe, with curly hair.
Beneath her bangs were mischievous, smiling eyes. Her skin was fair, and the corners of her mouth naturally turned up.
Finally, a young man ascended.
He appeared to be in his early twenties, with a lean figure.
He wore casual adventurer’s clothes that seemed careless but were actually made of fine materials.
His brown hair was slightly messy, and he wore a lazy, half-asleep smile.
But his eyes were very sharp, darting around Yize and Vivian, lingering a moment longer on Vivian’s petite frame and delicate face.
Lailong followed behind the three, a “let’s see the show” smile on his face.
“Come, come, let me introduce you!”
Lailong walked to the table and clapped his hands.
“These two are the new Special Invited Reserve Members I told you about: Yize, and… Vivian.”
He paused slightly when introducing Vivian, clearly still not quite used to the name.
“Yize, Vivian, these three are the members of our Night Raid team currently resting in Stana.”
Lailong pointed to each in turn. “Reyna—main melee fighter. Don’t let the fact that she’s a girl fool you; she’s the muscle of our team!”
Reyna grinned, showing a row of white teeth, and gave Yize and Vivian a hearty wave.
“Yo! Newbies! Heard you guys can fight?”
“Want to head to the Duel Arena later and stretch your limbs?”
Lailong then pointed to the curly-haired girl.
“This is Maecile—our team’s magic support and intel analysis. Don’t be fooled by her cute, harmless appearance; she’s got plenty of tricks up her sleeve.”
Maecile gracefully lifted the hem of her mage robe and performed a standard curtsy, her voice crisp and pleasant.
“Pleased to meet you both, Mr. Yize, and the adorable little Vivian.”
“Captain Lailong sang your praises last night. You’ve made me quite curious.”
She blinked her purple eyes, her gaze shifting between Yize’s calm face and Vivian’s puffed-out cheeks.
Finally, Lailong pointed to the brown-haired young man, his tone carrying a hint of resignation.
“This is Mallick—a tumor in the mouth. His specialty is slacking off and collecting all sorts of weird… well, ‘intel.'”
Mallick didn’t seem bothered by the jab. He grinned and stepped forward, his eyes first landing on Yize, sizing him up, then whistling.
“Whoa, pretty handsome, kid. Lailong says you’re ridiculously strong—beat him up in two punches?”
His tone was obviously teasing and skeptical, clearly thinking Lailong was exaggerating.
Then his gaze shifted to Vivian, his smile growing even brighter, even a bit flirtatious.
“And this little miss…”
He crouched down, trying to meet the seated Vivian at eye level, reaching out to pat her head.
“A cute little thing like this is also ‘ridiculously strong’?”
“Lailong, are you kidding me?”
“Or did you drink too much last night and start hallucinating?”
“Making such a tiny girl fight—how inhumane…”
His words cut off abruptly.
Because the moment he reached out, Vivian, with lightning speed, suddenly lowered her head and then slammed it forward!
THUD!
A familiar dull sound.
Mallick felt a sharp pain in his forehead, as if hit by a small iron hammer. Stars exploded in front of his eyes.
He let out a pained cry, stumbled backward holding his forehead, and fell on his butt, grimacing and unable to speak.
The terrace fell silent for a moment.
“HAHAHAHAHA!”
Lailong burst into earth-shaking laughter, doubling over and slapping his thigh.
“Mallick, you deserved it!”
“Serves you right for running your mouth and judging by appearances!”
“HAHAHAHA!”
The frustration he had felt from that headbutt the night before instantly transformed into shameless glee at seeing Mallick suffer the same fate.
Reyna and Maecile were also stunned. They had clearly seen Vivian’s lightning-fast move and Mallick’s genuine pain reaction.
Mallick might usually act lazy, but as a full member of Night Raid, his reaction speed and physical fitness were top-tier. He hadn’t even dodged?
Maecile’s purple eyes flickered with surprise and deep interest. She lightly covered her mouth.
“Oh my, Senior Mallick, it seems you’ve really been rude.”
“This ‘little’ Miss Vivian doesn’t seem to like being called ‘little.'” She looked at Vivian with a bit more seriousness and curiosity.
Reyna directly strode over to Mallick, who was still sitting on the ground rubbing his forehead, and kicked him.
“Hey, you okay? Did she really hit you that hard?”
She looked at Vivian with burning eyes.
“Little miss… no, Vivian, that headbutt of yours—pretty good power! How do you train that?”
Vivian, after headbutting him, huffily sat back in her chair, crossed her arms, and lifted her chin.
“Hmph! Who told him to call me a little squirt! And try to pat my head!”
She was clearly extremely sensitive to words like “little squirt” “child labor,” and the like.
Mallick finally recovered. A visible lump had already swollen on his forehead.
He scrambled up with a wry smile. When he looked at Vivian again, the frivolousness was completely gone, replaced by astonishment and a hint of lingering fear.
“Damn… Lailong, you weren’t lying… This little girl is a monster loli!”
He now fully believed Lailong’s claims about Vivian’s strength.
“Believe it now?”
Lailong stopped laughing, wiped the tears from his eyes.
“I told you not to judge by appearances. Vivian’s strength is definitely worthy of joining the Night Raid.”
With Mallick as the “living demonstration,” Reyna and Maecile no longer doubted Vivian’s strength.
Maecile even tactfully sidled up next to Vivian and said in a sweet voice.
“Sister Vivian is amazing! That move just now was really cool! Some arrogant guys just need to be taught a lesson.”
She glanced meaningfully at Mallick as she spoke.
Praised like that, Vivian kept her face stern, but a flash of smugness passed through her crimson eyes. She gave a soft “hmph,” acknowledging the compliment.
With Vivian’s “certification” issue resolved, the three’s gazes naturally turned to Yize, who had been sitting quietly the whole time.
Compared to Vivian’s direct “headbutt warning,” Yize looked far more peaceful.
Black hair, a somewhat delicate but handsome face, a quiet demeanor.
Apart from his calm, deep eyes, he seemed like an ordinary young man with decent temperament, even a bit bookish.
Lena walked half a circle around Yize, rubbing her chin, her eyes full of inquiry.
“Lailong said you knocked him out with two punches?”
“And in the duel arena, under everyone’s watch?”
