Liu Jing could not only pop folding blades from her arms, but she had even replaced both of her feet with Immortal Remains.
When she engaged in close combat with Mu Yanxi, she suddenly lashed out with a flying kick, her leg transforming into a high-speed, rotating chainsaw.
Mu Yanxi had never seen such a strange weapon before. Just looking at those high-speed, moving serrated teeth gave her a terrible feeling.
She hurriedly followed the Immortal Brain’s instructions and raised her blade to parry.
*Clang!* The leg chainsaw slammed into the Undying Blade, sending out clusters of sparks. Mu Yanxi felt a constant, massive force cutting and pulling at her weapon.
Immediately after, Liu Jing’s other leg also turned into a chainsaw and kicked toward her.
This was a form of sneak attack. If not for the Immortal Brain’s predictions and evasion maneuvers, Mu Yanxi would have been shredded by the chainsaws long ago.
Even so, when the chainsaws narrowly grazed her, her protective Water Shield was easily sliced open, providing almost no defensive effect.
At this moment, Liu Jing was in an all-out state. The influence of the potion made her eyes turn red as she unleashed a storm of attacks using all four limbs.
Every inch of her body seemed to have turned into a deadly weapon, and every strike was aimed at Mu Yanxi’s life.
Mu Yanxi appeared to be in a life-threatening situation. Her Tang Dao swung wildly from left to right, lacking any cohesive technique.
Her physical fitness and coordination were also a level below Liu Jing’s. It looked as though she could be hacked to pieces at any moment.
Below the Arena, Ruo Xuan was so nervous that she shouted at Zhao Shuanghua, “Teacher! Please call a stop to this match! At this rate, Mu Yanxi is going to be killed!”
“Don’t worry, she won’t die,” Zhao Shuanghua said lazily. She had even manifested a chair—drinking wine while watching the match. “Besides, unless one side surrenders, I have no right to stop the match.”
Ruo Xuan was frantic and lost, but Shangguan Yun patted her shoulder and said, “Calm down. Yanxi hasn’t lost yet. Actually, it looks like she’s about to win.”
Ruo Xuan looked at Mu Yanxi on the stage. She was in a miserable state, forced to retreat constantly while using her Tang Dao to blindly block Liu Jing’s tempestuous attacks.
Ruo Xuan wondered how she was “about to win.” From any perspective, she looked ready to lose or be severely injured at any second.
However, after watching for a while longer, Ruo Xuan became confused. Mu Yanxi had looked like she was in peril just a moment ago, yet after a dozen more rounds, she was still in that same state of peril.
Although her blade swings completely lacked form and it seemed like she had never studied swordsmanship, no matter how violent Liu Jing’s attacks became, she couldn’t cross the final line.
Ruo Xuan was only watching from below and couldn’t see clearly, but Liu Jing, who was fighting Mu Yanxi on the stage, had a much more direct feeling: it was incredibly frustrating.
No matter how she attacked, her blade techniques were ever-changing and her hidden tricks were endless, yet she simply could not break through Mu Yanxi’s defense.
With just a single straight blade, Mu Yanxi blocked every attack from her four limbs, almost as if she possessed foresight.
Clearly, Mu Yanxi’s movements were no different from an amateur’s—even her grip on the blade was non-standard. In the eyes of a Martial Cultivator, her entire body was full of openings.
Yet, no matter which opening she attacked, Mu Yanxi would somehow manage to block it and even find time to slash back once or twice.
Strangely, those two or three counterattacks were as crude as a peasant swinging wildly, yet they always landed on the vital points of her martial techniques.
This forced Liu Jing to abort her attacks to defend or retreat. Every time she tried to build momentum for a killing move, she was interrupted. It was agonizing.
Liu Jing even developed a strange illusion: it felt as if having no technique was better than having one. Because Mu Yanxi had no recognizable style, Liu Jing couldn’t read her patterns at all.
Even though she was covered in openings, she was impregnable. Conversely, Liu Jing felt like her own techniques were being dismantled by the opponent the moment she used them.
Furthermore, the scales of victory were tilting. In the beginning, Mu Yanxi could only counter occasionally with one or two strikes. Then it became two or three.
The frequency of her counters increased until it wasn’t just countering anymore—it was a full-on exchange of blows between the two.
“Why won’t you die?! You aren’t even a Martial Cultivator, so how can you suppress me in blade techniques?!” Liu Jing screamed in fury.
By now, her swings had lost their fluidity. They were all heavy, desperate chops. Her moves were a mess; no matter how much force she used, it was useless.
“Haven’t you realized? It’s not that I’ve become stronger, but that you’ve become weaker,” Mu Yanxi said. Immediately following her words, she began her full offensive. The Undying Blade completely suppressed Liu Jing’s Immortal Remains.
“Huh?!” Liu Jing finally noticed that her Mana was rapidly receding. Even her cultivation realm was dropping. The effects of the potion were wearing off.
‘I have to take the drug quickly… I can’t stop!’ Thinking this, Liu Jing retreated rapidly. Her right hand pulled a new tube of Nine Elephant Potion from her Spirit Moon Ring, attempting to inject it into her body.
“DO YOU WANT TO DIE?!” Mu Yanxi roared.
The shout startled Liu Jing, making her hand freeze before she could plunge the needle in. Mu Yanxi brought her blade down, severing Liu Jing’s right hand. The cut was perfectly smooth, and no blood flowed.
“Enough. Your body can’t handle any more of that potion. I win,” Mu Yanxi said, sheathing her blade. The energy inside Liu Jing was already chaotic. If she took another shot, she would likely explode and die.
“It’s not over! I haven’t lost!” Liu Jing roared as she jumped up, her left folding blade slashing at Mu Yanxi.
“I said you’ve already lost. You’re truly stubborn.” Mu Yanxi tilted her head to dodge the thrust of the folding blade. With a backhand strike, Liu Jing’s left hand was also severed and sent flying.
She still wouldn’t stop. She leapt into the air, her two leg chainsaws snapping toward Mu Yanxi like scissors. Mu Yanxi ducked under the scissor kick and slashed the Undying Blade upward.
Liu Jing flew over her head and crashed into the Water Screen. Both of her legs had been severed by the Undying Blade, clattering to the ground and sending out a shower of sparks.
The leg chainsaws were originally designed for high-speed movement. The limbs severed by the Undying Blade were not actually “cut off” in the traditional sense; they were merely separated from the body in space while remaining connected.
Therefore, the chainsaws continued to spin at high speeds, dragging Liu Jing’s two legs as they scurried erratically around the Arena.
Being severed by the Undying Blade didn’t even hurt, which was why Liu Jing hadn’t realized she had lost. It wasn’t until she hit the ground, reduced to a mere torso and forced to wriggle like a maggot, that she realized what had happened.
“My limbs… how?” Liu Jing wriggled in shock. Her limbs were scattered across the Arena, crawling everywhere, but because she didn’t understand the properties of the Undying Blade, she couldn’t reattach them herself.
“I told you that you lost. Don’t move. I’ll help you put your limbs back,” Mu Yanxi said, turning around to catch the four limbs that were scurrying about.
At that moment, a murderous glint flashed in Liu Jing’s eyes. She opened her mouth and spat out a Flying Sword, which shot toward the back of Mu Yanxi’s head.
*Clang!* Mu Yanxi turned and swiped the Flying Sword down with her blade. She glared at the writhing Liu Jing.
Seeing that the woman still tried to control the Flying Sword to attack, Mu Yanxi rushed over and stomped on her lower back. Liu Jing let out a sharp cry of pain, her backside forced into the air. —
