The air in the room seemed to freeze.
Everyone stared in stunned silence at “Swan,” who was acting like she had severe hyperactivity.
She moved her limbs with curious excitement, hopping around one moment and then vigorously rubbing her cheeks with both hands the next.
Then she muttered,
“Mm… this feels really nice!”
Everyone: “…”
An eerie silence spread through the room, each person wearing an indescribably complicated expression.
Luke carefully edged closer to Yize and whispered in a low, confused voice,
“Senior… Swan… what’s going on with him?”
“Why does it feel like he’s become a completely different person? His eyes, his tone, his movements… everything’s off!”
Yize frowned slightly, his sharp gaze examining the strange behavior of “Swan.” After a moment of thought, he spoke in a speculative tone,
“I’m not sure. Maybe… the mental stress and shock he experienced in such a short time exceeded his limits, causing… some kind of cognitive disruption. Or perhaps… a protective alternate personality?”
Recalling psychological trauma theories from his original world, he tried to find a reasonable explanation.
Thinking it through, Swan had first suffered the destruction of his family and carried a deep blood feud.
Then, in order to gain power, he seemed to have paid some kind of… physical price. On top of that, the earlier questioning from Luke and Emma had unintentionally struck at his core.
Under the weight of all these pressures, it wasn’t impossible for his mind to temporarily “escape” for self-protection and give rise to another personality.
Luke was stunned, instinctively protesting, “Senior, Swan… shouldn’t be that fragile…”
Before he could finish—
“Swan,” seemingly triggered by something, suddenly turned her head and locked onto Luke.
The next second, like a feral little beast, she pounced on him.
Opening her mouth, she revealed teeth that weren’t sharp but had terrifying bite force, and began chaotically gnawing on Luke’s conspicuously large head.
“Ah! That’s what you get for talking about me! For meddling! For having such a huge annoying head! I’ll bite you to death, you red-haired freak!”
She mumbled angrily while biting.
Luke felt sharp pain on his scalp as warm liquid ran down his forehead.
Terrified, he screamed, “Ahhh! It hurts, it hurts! Senior! Senior Sister Sara, help! Swan’s really gone crazy! He’s biting people!!”
Seeing blood already flowing from Luke’s head, Sara quickly intervened,
“Yize! Hurry! Get Swan off him first!”
“Her state is completely wrong. Let Emma examine her later!”
Yize immediately stepped forward, grabbing “Swan” by the back collar and trying to pull her away.
“Ow, ow! Senior! Gently, gently!” Luke grimaced in pain, “You have to make Swan let go first! Otherwise my head won’t be bitten off—it’ll be torn off along with her!”
Meanwhile, deep within her soul, Swan’s original consciousness—temporarily suppressed by Iguneel—was on the verge of tears.
‘Iguneel! I’m begging you! Stop! Don’t use my body to do something so embarrassing and weird!’
‘And why… why can you control my body?! What’s going on?!’
Iguneel responded casually while continuing to gnaw,
‘I’m helping you vent your anger! That red-haired brat deserves it for running his mouth!’
She paused, as if savoring the experience.
‘As for control… I’m not entirely sure. Ever since you drank that strange potion that boy brought, my remnant soul has been slowly recovering.’
‘Just now, when your emotions surged and your mind wavered, I suddenly found I could take over this body…’
Her tone carried excitement, like discovering a new toy.
‘We can figure out the details later. Let me enjoy this first!’
Swan: “…”
She felt utterly helpless and despairing.
Seeing Luke’s face turning pale and his blood loss worsening, Yize knew he couldn’t let this continue.
He tried speaking cautiously,
“Swan?”
No response. She remained focused on her “head-biting mission.”
Yize poked her forehead gently,
“Swan, be good and let go. If you keep biting, Luke might actually die. Leave him a way out, alright?”
Only then did Iguneel realize Yize was addressing her.
Since he was the human who made delicious walnut milk—and someone she didn’t dislike—she decided to give him some face.
She released Luke, lifting her blood-stained face to look at Yize, “I want that…”
Yize relaxed slightly, “What do you want?”
Iguneel tried to recall the unforgettable taste, “That thing you secretly give Swan… white, smells nice, sweet, thick… really delicious…”
Yize: “???”
But to everyone else, that description sounded extremely suggestive.
The room fell into dead silence again.
Luke, who had been semi-conscious, suddenly perked up, gossip overpowering his pain, “Senior! I finally get it!”
“You said you didn’t like fair and clean boys, but secretly you’ve been giving Swan your—”
“Shut up!”
Yize’s face darkened. Before Luke could finish, he shoved his head back toward “Swan,” “Forget it. Keep biting him. Bite this loudmouth to death.”
“Got it!”
“Swan” happily resumed biting, “I’ll bite you to death, big mouth!”
At that awkward moment, Emma blinked her clear eyes and spoke hesitantly, “Yize… does Swan want your walnut milk?”
“Swan’s” eyes instantly lit up. She let go of Luke and even patted Emma’s shoulder approvingly, “Correct! You understand me well, little girl! I want walnut milk!”
Sara quietly sighed in relief, “Yize, since she wants it, go make some. It might calm her down.”
Yize nodded.
About half an hour later, he returned with a large pot of steaming walnut milk.
“Swan” rushed over like a cat chasing a toy, grabbed the pot, and gulped it down directly, ignoring the heat.
“Mm! This is it! So good! I can’t live without walnut milk!”
She smiled with pure joy.
Since Luke was unconscious, his share also went to her.
Emma tried to use a healing spell on Luke, but Yize stopped her, “His head is too big. Letting some blood out helps reduce pressure. It’s good for him.”
Sara nodded in agreement, “Let him rest.”
Emma then joined “Swan” in drinking, and the two bonded instantly over food.
“Right, Swan? Yize’s walnut milk is amazing!”
Now, Iguneel—still controlling Swan—seemed to like Emma a lot. They chatted excitedly about food, with Emma listing delicacies across the Empire.
“Don’t worry, Swan!” Emma said confidently, “Once this crisis is over and we drive away those Blood Race enemies, I’ll take you to eat everything I mentioned!”
Then she added curiously, “But Swan… your personality now feels completely different.”
Iguneel raised her head proudly, “Because I am Swan’s second personality!”
“He’s too shy to do or say many things, so I came out instead!” She clenched her fist confidently, “With me here, we’ll crush those Blood Race enemies!”
Yize listened thoughtfully.
This “second personality” not only understood itself but seemed extremely confident in its strength.
Could this be related to Swan’s Dragonification power?
Just as he was thinking, “Swan” finished all the walnut milk and looked at him eagerly, “My walnut milk is gone!”
Yize pushed his untouched bowl toward her, “If you like it, have more.”
Iguneel glanced at him, “You’re not drinking?”
“I’m fine. You enjoy it,” Yize smiled.
At that moment, a cold system notification suddenly rang in his mind:
“Ding! The Host has significantly altered a key plot point and character relationships. Unlocking real-time Affection Level monitoring for key character (Iguneel). Current Affection Level toward Host: sixty-eight (friendly · dependent).”
Yize’s hand paused slightly, a hint of shock flashing in his eyes.
“???”
