“Wh… what are you?” the Fat Henchman asked, his voice trembling.
“Young Master Wang, he… he’s not human.”
Because the two men were blocking his view, Wang Kai didn’t notice the changes in Shen Ji immediately.
He sneered, “Correct, he’s a beast. He isn’t even fit to be a dog under my command.”
“No, Young Master Wang…”
Before the Fat Henchman could finish his sentence, Shen Ji reached out with one hand and gripped his throat in a death grip.
“Help… me.”
In just a moment, the Fat Henchman’s face turned deathly pale.
The Thin Henchman remained relatively calm; although he hadn’t reacted in time to Shen Ji’s initial strike, he delivered a side kick the moment he realized something was wrong.
Shen Ji’s eyes narrowed slightly.
The Fat Henchman’s trembling body, the sound of the Thin Henchman’s foot scraping the ground as he turned to kick, and Wang Kai’s smug smile behind them—everything slowed down in Shen Ji’s eyes.
As the Chilly Energy circulated within his body, Shen Ji clearly felt that it was this power stimulating his five senses, causing them to sharpen and expand.
It was also this power that gave him the confidence to let his surging killing intent flow.
Seeing the Thin Henchman’s foot approaching, Shen Ji didn’t dodge but met it head-on.
The light in his eyes swirled faster, and he caught the leg, forcing the Thin Henchman’s foot to freeze mid-air.
The Thin Henchman’s pupils constricted violently.
He never imagined that this weak-looking man could catch his kick without budging.
More eerily, what was going on with those eyes that had suddenly turned blue?
The word ‘monster’ leaped into his mind.
Before he could think further, a monstrous force surged from his foot, forcing his ankle to bend inward at an impossible angle.
As Shen Ji’s strength gradually increased, a crisp sound of bone cracking echoed.
The Thin Henchman collapsed with a wail, and Wang Kai finally saw Shen Ji’s current appearance.
Those eyes, which usually never dared to look anyone in the face, were now shimmering with a strange Blue Halo.
Those rough, slender hands were now dictating the fates of the two men before him.
An unbelievable thought flashed through Wang Kai’s mind.
‘Shen Ji is actually going to kill someone.’
Wang Kai scrambled back a few steps and then slumped to the ground, his legs giving out.
He muttered, “He’s crazy. Sickly Shen has gone mad. You… you actually dare to kill someone.”
Hearing this, Shen Ji tossed the Fat and Thin Henchmen aside like young chicks.
Noticing Wang Kai slumped on the ground, he rubbed his brow and sighed.
“Young Master Wang, I gave you a chance, but you were useless.”
“Shen… Shen Ji, if you dare touch me, my father won’t let you get away with it!”
Shen Ji sneered.
“Is having a father supposed to be impressive?”
Without a hint of hesitation, Shen Ji kicked Wang Kai right in the face.
With a wretched scream, Wang Kai tumbled across the ground and spat out a single tooth stained red with blood.
Wang Kai scrambled to get up, trembling.
Staring at the massive bloodstain before him, only one thought remained in his mind: survival.
As long as he could leave this place alive today, no matter what kind of thing Shen Ji was, he would make sure the boy never saw tomorrow’s sun.
A flash of ruthlessness crossed Wang Kai’s eyes.
Scrambling toward Shen Ji, he began to kowtow and pleaded flatteringly, “Brother Shen, please let me go. I have money, so much money. I’ll give it all to you. I’ll give it all!”
Shen Ji crouched down and grabbed Wang Kai’s collar, pretending to be interested.
“I can give you a chance to buy your life now. I just don’t know how much you’re willing to pay.”
Seeing a turn of events, Wang Kai let out a sigh of relief.
However, the resentment in his heart didn’t diminish at all.
Instead, he stared at the ground with poisonous hatred.
He had never suffered such humiliation in his life.
He would make sure Shen Ji was completely ruined, and his useless sister would be ruined along with him.
“100,000. I’m willing to give you 100,000.”
“If I’d known your life was so worthless, I should have just kicked your head off earlier. I might not have done it in one go, but a few more tries should have done the trick. Don’t you agree, Young Master Wang?”
Wang Kai gritted his teeth.
“500,000. This is everything I have on me. Even if you kill me, you won’t get any more.”
His family was rich, but he was still just a high school student.
Naturally, his family wouldn’t spoil him with endless amounts of cash.
Shen Ji raised an eyebrow.
He really was a rich kid.
Shen Ji had worked himself to death taking drug-testing assignments just to earn a 100,000 reward, most of which went toward Shen Wan’s medical bills.
Yet for this guy, that amount was only a fifth of his allowance.
“Transfer the money to this card.”
Without any hesitation, Wang Kai took the card with both hands.
After a few taps on his phone, he transferred the full 500,000 and respectfully handed the card back to Shen Ji.
After seeing the confirmation text for the transfer, Shen Ji nodded in satisfaction.
“Thank you for your generosity, Young Master Wang. I hope we can do more business in the future.”
Wang Kai gave a flattering smile.
“Brother Shen, can I go now?”
Shen Ji nodded slightly.
Just as Wang Kai turned around, a strange arc curved on Shen Ji’s lips as he spoke again.
“Young Master Wang, didn’t you forget something?”
Wang Kai didn’t pay any attention to Shen Ji’s question.
Instead, he bolted the moment he heard the voice.
But no matter how fast he ran, he was no match for Shen Ji after his First Evolution.
In the blink of an eye, Shen Ji reached Wang Kai’s side and gripped his shoulder tightly.
“I said, you forgot something.”
Wang Kai turned his head to meet those blue eyes.
The relief of escaping death shattered instantly as he roared, “I already gave you the money! What more do you want? If anything happens to me today, neither you nor your crippled sister will escape!”
“Her name is Shen Wan. She isn’t a ‘cripple.'”
Although Shen Ji spoke calmly, the anger surging in the depths of his eyes could not be hidden.
“You… you…”
The last image in Wang Kai’s eyes froze on Shen Ji lifting him by the neck with one hand.
As the sensation of suffocation hit him, a wave of weakness washed over his eyelids, and they finally slumped closed.
Shen Ji shook his head helplessly.
Looking at the three unconscious men before him, he didn’t feel the thrill of showing off his power.
Instead, a sense of melancholy washed over him.
He muttered to himself, ‘I guess I have to bother her?’
He immediately dialed a voice call on his phone.
“Hello, I killed someone.”
A lazy, drowsy voice came from the other end of the line.
“Oh. Then they’re dead.”
Shen Ji raised his voice.
“I said, I killed someone.”
“Why are you shouting? I heard you.”
Shen Ji frowned, listening to the rustling of clothes and the clinking of metal from the other end.
“Then you…”
“Let me guess, you’re looking for my help?”
“So what if I am?”
“Oh? Our little Ji’s temper has grown lately. I’ve never heard anyone ask for a favor in such a tone.”
After a brief silence, the roar of a car engine starting followed.
Ye Xi dropped her teasing act.
She knew that unless Shen Ji encountered a problem he couldn’t solve, he wouldn’t bother her.
“Give me your location. I’ll be there soon.”
“Nanjiang Hospital, the east corner of Xicheng Alley.”
“Before I arrive, you know what to do, right?”
