Serveyia’s proposal immediately made Liuli’s heart skip a beat.
She had thought she would be working in the coffee shop for the next few days and never expected that she would actually have a chance to attend the Academy Festival.
“Serveyia, wouldn’t this be too much trouble for you? You’re already very tired today.”
“It’s fine. This isn’t much different from my daily life, so it’s not really tiring.”
That’s not tiring?
Liuli found it a bit unbelievable.
She had only worked for half a day today and already felt quite exhausted.
Serveyia worked like this every day; how on earth did she keep going?
“Is it really not tiring? Why do I feel so exhausted after just half a day?”
“That’s because the Little Fox has never been this busy before. Once you get used to this pace, you naturally won’t feel tired anymore.”
Getting used to being busy?
Those words sounded a bit weathered.
To what extent did a person have to go to get used to being busy?
“Then I would rather not get used to being busy.”
Originally, Liuli’s thoughts were quite simple.
As a Princess, her goal was to enjoy her blessings.
If she was busy all the time, what was the difference between that and her original self?
“Though I suppose that’s just a beautiful dream of mine.”
“Hehe, if the Little Fox wants to become an excellent Princess, being busy is certainly unavoidable. Therefore, my suggestion is for the Little Fox to adapt to a busy life as soon as possible. As a leader, you must have either the ability to persuade people or the ability to… ‘bed-suade’ them, right?”
Well, Serveyia’s words were blunt but the logic was sound.
Since it was naturally impossible for her to go and “bed-suade” others, she could only rely on persuasion.
Could it be that she really couldn’t escape the fate of being busy?
The entire afternoon that followed was nothing but boring work time for Liuli.
There were no interesting guests or sudden incidents; it was just a very calm and ordinary period of work.
It was so ordinary that Liuli even felt a bit bored.
There was no denying that, more often than not, it was this kind of repetitive and monotonous work that made people feel drained.
Finally, after greeting batch after batch of customers and persuading those still waiting to leave, Liuli finally welcomed her own Academy Festival.
“Little Fox, do you need to change your clothes before going to the Academy Festival?”
Serveyia said with a slight smile as she looked at Liuli, who was slumped in a chair in the Resting Room.
“I have to change. I can’t go to such an important festival wearing a Maid Uniform, right? You should change too, Serveyia. It must be uncomfortable to be busy all day in these clothes. Besides, for such a crucial festival, what would it look like to wear a Maid Uniform?”
“Oh? Then I’ll thank the Little Fox for her kindness first. However, I didn’t bring any other clothes to change into. If I want to change, I’ll have to go back to Qingli Hall first. Is that okay?”
“That’s fine. We still have plenty of time. It won’t end until 12 o’clock tonight anyway, right?”
“Since the Little Fox has said so, I naturally have no objection. Rather, I should say, welcome to Saint Laia’s Academy Festival.”
After walking out of the coffee shop with Serveyia, I realized exactly what I had missed today.
Unlike the usual campus, everywhere was decorated colorfully with ribbons and lights.
It was completely different from the daytime.
Especially some of the sculptures; under the reflection of the lights, they looked as if they were coming to life.
“When were all these light strips set up? I feel like there weren’t this many decorations yesterday.”
“Actually, they were set up step by step. They just weren’t lit up before. Little Fox, you probably just didn’t notice, right?”
Is that so?
Liuli knew that she didn’t really have an eye for beauty.
If there wasn’t a truly massive change, Liuli probably wouldn’t realize what had changed even after a long time.
“So, where does the Little Fox want to go for a stroll?”
“Let’s find something to eat first. The Maids of Qingli Hall should all be on holiday now, right?”
“Alright, we’ll go eat after we change our clothes. I happen to know one or two stores that are perfect for dinner, so let’s go there.”
After returning to Qingli Hall, Serveyia and I changed our clothes.
To my surprise, Serveyia insisted that I put on a complicated Formal Dress.
“Serveyia, we’re just going for a walk. There’s no need to dress so magnificently, is there?”
“Little Fox, haven’t you noticed everyone else’s attire?”
“Everyone’s attire?”
Reminded by Serveyia, Liuli remembered that the Students she saw today seemed to be dressed exceptionally grandly.
Could it be that this was also because of the Academy Festival?
“That’s right. Didn’t you go shopping with Fina, Little Fox? Logically, Fina should have told you. The Academy Festival is the most important festival at Saint Laia. Countless Students look forward to this day, so they will naturally choose their favorite clothes.”
“If you were to wear something very ordinary at a time like this, you would undoubtedly become the center of attention, Little Fox.”
The reason Liuli didn’t want to wear such magnificent clothes was partly because of the trouble, and partly because she didn’t want to draw attention to herself—mostly the latter.
But since Serveyia said that magnificent clothes were the norm in this situation, she would obediently follow the crowd.
“Serveyia, what are you going to take me to eat?”
Liuli looked at Serveyia, who had finished putting on her Formal Dress, and felt a bit dazed.
It seemed that since the first time she met Serveyia, she had always been wearing a Maid Uniform.
After such a long time, it seemed she had never seen Serveyia wear anything else, so she looked exceptionally fresh now.
“A restaurant opened by the Elf race. They opened a similar restaurant during previous Academy Festivals. I’ve been there a few times and felt it was quite good. I’ll take the Little Fox to try it today as well.”
“Elves? What do they usually eat?”
In Liuli’s eyes, the Elf race seemed to be a race that usually ate a vegetarian diet.
Although she didn’t have much of an issue with purely vegetarian food, she would still prefer to eat some meat if possible.
“The Elf diet is quite varied; they generally use locally sourced ingredients. Although they prefer vegetables, fruits, and mushrooms, they don’t reject eating meat. That restaurant doesn’t only serve Elf dishes; there will be other food as well.”
“I thought this kind of restaurant would only serve the local cuisine of their own race~”
“Not at all. For a celebration like this where many Races gather, they have to more or less consider the preferences of other Races. After all, different Races have different dietary habits. It just so happens that we can take a stroll along the way there.”
“So the Academy Festival is just all kinds of stores?”
“Not entirely. Some Students who don’t want to open a Store simply don’t. And it’s not just stores; there are many other activities. In short, the Academy Festival is a festival where everyone can do whatever they want.”
