Watching this made White Feather Dove and Heiqi Long a little scared—it was rather intense.
“To survive here, you have to be ruthless. If you let others think you’re easy to bully, it’ll only bring endless oppression.” Qingshamu sat down, teaching the two children sternly.
Now that she saw through everything, she understood that these two children had only been born for half a year and didn’t actually know much, but Feini had taught them well, and their worldviews were solid.
However, after stepping outside, too upright a worldview wasn’t always a good thing.
You had to know some dirty tricks to get by in a place like this.
“These Adventurer thugs are just small fry. The real trouble comes from those Adventurer Guilds. If anyone from a guild tries to talk to you, you must politely refuse. But don’t reject them too harshly—otherwise, they’ll lose face. You have to act as though you really want to join their guild, but just can’t for some reason.” Qingshamu started her lengthy lecture, going on and on.
White Feather Dove and Heiqi Long didn’t really want to listen to her rambling and chose to bury their heads in their food, letting her words go in one ear and out the other.
After finishing their meal, they hurried to clear away the table, making room in the courtyard for post-meal practice.
“I’m not done eating yet.” Qingshamu complained, still holding her bowl, and could only move her stool back to a corner to finish eating alone.
These two kids had one bad habit—they ate too fast.
White Feather Dove ate very little; in theory, a weapon automaton didn’t need normal food.
Heiqi Long, on the other hand, ate too much, practically clearing out a whole meal each day, leaving only scraps for Qingshamu.
After eating, Baicheng and Little Black faced each other in the courtyard, their gazes growing serious.
“Big Sis, I’ve almost fully recovered. Get ready.” The dark dragon tossed away her cane, speaking toughly.
“Hmph, brute-force little sister, all you have is raw strength. While you were slacking off, I was sneaking around learning new skills.” White Feather Dove snorted coldly.
“I was born strong. You’re not like me.” The dark dragon slowly crouched down to gather strength, then exploded forward, instantly teleporting in front of her sister and delivering a ruthless elbow.
Of course, in the very next second, White Feather Dove unfurled a ring of Magical Barrier, blocking Heiqi Long’s heavy strike.
As always, physical attacks hitting the Darkmoon Magical Barrier felt like striking thick, soft rubber—all force was absorbed by the jelly-like shield.
Even the black dragon’s physical blows could hardly affect it.
That attack could make a Red Dragon cough blood, but being countered meant being countered. Here, restraint relationships were taken very seriously.
“MAN!” The dark dragon let out bizarre shouts, adding more force and launching a barrage of spinning elbow strikes at the Darkmoon Magical Barrier.
She had trained the Dragon Elbow technique to perfection, landing eight consecutive elbows per second, making the Magical Barrier wobble like jelly.
Inside the barrier, White Feather Dove sat with crossed legs, pen and notebook in hand, recording data and analyzing her sister’s elbow power, adjusting her Magical Barrier in real-time.
Heiqi Long’s fifty consecutive elbows still couldn’t break the Magical Barrier, but that didn’t matter— she just used it as a punching bag to hone her Dragon Elbow.
She wanted an unbreakable target to practice on.
White Feather Dove, too, wanted a sparring partner with high physical attack and speed to test her shield.
She could gather magical data and explore the limits of her barrier.
Though her Darkmoon Magical Barrier was extremely effective against physical attacks, her Darkmoon Magic stood no chance of breaking her sister’s dragon-scale armor.
All in all, the sisters’ duels were peaceful, and both gained valuable experience.
Qingshamu was impressed—how could there be such perfect sparring partners?
Day after day, they trained together, raising all their stats and growing stronger. Give it a little more time, and their strength would increase again.
But Little Black Dragon had already knocked the Red Dragon flat. Given a bit more time to grow, who knew what kind of monster she’d become?
Still, her own daughter was remarkable. Her Darkmoon Magic hardly needed any improvement—she just needed to train madly to boost her mana reserves.
Baicheng really made the most out of her Magical Barrier. As long as she pushed it to the limit, she’d be unbeatable.
Even the heavy elbows of a Half-Dragon couldn’t break her defense, and the Magical Barrier provided significant protection against magic as well.
Who in the world could possibly break through her daughter’s defense?
Actually, there was a way. To break the Darkmoon Magical Barrier required a concentrated armor-piercing strike at a single point; multi-stage attacks were ineffective.
Again, the Magical Barrier could be continuously repaired, just like the Vampires’ regenerative abilities— the so-called immortality of Vampires came from high-speed self-recovery via Blood Magic.
Moreover, White Feather Dove’s physical abilities were outstanding.
Though not quite as strong as her sister, she could still overpower ordinary humans and even wrestle with high-level magical beasts.
“Coo coo~ Let me give it a try too.”
Qingshamu gulped down her last bite, and after eating her fill, her interest was piqued.
She picked up her sword, strode to the center of the courtyard, and suddenly drew her blade and charged, slashing back and forth between the sisters.
“Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!”
The Hero herself suddenly joined in, taking on both at once, her Light Sword forcing Heiqi Long to keep retreating and even piercing through the Magical Barrier, making White Feather Dove avoid the sharp edge.
Qingshamu’s ability was a direct counter to her own daughter— the Light Sword’s piercing power was maxed out, and it dealt both magical and physical damage, inflicting double harm, the perfect counter to her daughter’s Magical Barrier.
“You’re just in time.” White Feather Dove’s gaze turned steely as she put away her notebook, slowly drew her Rune Sword, and got ready—she’d long wanted to spar with her.
With no choice, facing her formidable “father’s” challenge, she went all out.
“What are you doing? Kids, it’s just a little post-meal exercise, no need to take it so seriously,” Qingshamu said.
White Feather Dove ignored her, suddenly lunging with her sword.
Qingshamu sidestepped and parried, deflecting the blow with ease.
But she immediately noticed that White Feather Dove’s thrust, while fierce on the surface, actually had no real power—a pure feint.
“Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!”
Sure enough, White Feather Dove’s arm twisted, and the next second brought the real attack—a fierce combo of Runic Sword Technique moves.
Qingshamu was forced to retreat several steps, blocking left and right with her sword, unable to fully absorb the force.
Yet her eyes sparkled with delight—she was genuinely proud, seeing her daughter’s swordsmanship had made great strides.
“Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!”
The two clashed, their swords ringing out loudly, leaving Heiqi Long on the sidelines.
Feeling awkward about joining in on a two-on-one, and lacking a father’s training, she could only head back to her room to sleep.
